I fr remember trying to recreate the strategy from panda4994 and just getting wrecked by the surplus of silverfish lol. Once you reach bedrock they have nowhere to go to you have to kill them manually.
truly the greatest form of mining, dude spends 1 minute for the silverfish to mine out like 3 tnt worth of stone then spends 10 minutes dying to his creation. very efficient
Recently, a new potion was added to Minecraft to facilitate the breeding of silverfish, thus reviving this long-forgotten mining method that I recently discovered.
Interesting concept. Using a spawner and a automated system, could you make a auto-miner? I know it will not drop anything but it only clears stone, so you could find ores this way...
It might work well, but given the fact that silverfish mining is fairly inconsistent I doubt you could fully automate it. It might be possible with a robust witch farm for the potions, maybe bartering as well, but that's something pretty much reserved for Scicraft to build.
It's cool to find minecraft's "new" lifehacks and tricks that were actually known long before. For example there were so many people associating dream with water mlg when I remember doing it at like 12. Or for example boosting yourself with 2 block tall gap which you also do in this video. I don't know something about it is cool to me.
People will also 100% associate something with whatever the newest trend is, and never think “I wonder if this existed before?” Mods like Create for example has a representation for being the first industrial mod with actual moving parts, but over decade ago there were mods like “Better Than Wolves” and “Ugocraft” which did the exact same thing.
Maaaann, even the texture pack is bringing me back. Everyone used to use this one way back when. Faithful I think it was called? Wild how much has changed and still stayed the same.
Huh I was gonna say I swear youtube recommendations are so random, but know that a think of it I remeber watching a video that had to do something with this, so I guess since whatever that video is, is getting popular know this is getting recommended 10 years later. Damn the youtube algorithm sure is something intresting.
Judging by the existence of leads (10:15) and roses (2:22), and the absence of Acacia and Dark Oak wood in the NEI menu on the right, they're playing on 1.6. Roses were removed in 1.7.2, and leads were added in 1.6. This would put the update between 1.6 and 1.7.2, but there's no Acacia and Dark Oak wood, making this 1.6. That'd make it a total of 15 major updates.
