- A Full Netherite Beacon...A goal I completely failed 1 year ago. However, a new method changed the way this challenge could be faced, so I'm back to try to get a full Netherite beacon in 100 days...

It was so strange watching him rush trying to not waste a second while mining and moving around getting stuff, then seeing him waste days waiting for hundreds of netherite to smelt in 2 blast furnaces. It felt like he could’ve shaved a couple of days by just using more furnaces

Yeah true all it took was a little bit of mining for iron or even a micro iron farm
If he used more furnaces it wouldn't have came as close as it did. As he says many times "I have done the math, It's gonna come close." If he used more the video wouldn't be as nail biting...

The whole time i was so confused on why he had so few blast furnaces compared to how many stacks he got per trip, and as to why he didnt think of using lava as fuel instead of coal.
Because he didn't have much iron because he was only focusing on getting netherite he would have to go out of his schedule to get iron and then make more blast furnaces and buckets
@@TOOG_W seeing as he made sure to spawn with a village he could have made an iron farm in 1 day with ianxofour's farm. Additionally he had to spend time mining coal and the time saved with multiple blast furnaces would have made up for making the farm.
@@vidlurker8906 no, he killed multiple wither skeletons which give you coal. what did give me anxiety tho was that this mf never used the bones in the nether to do bone meal and use it in sugar cane
Edit: i just saw the part where he mines the coal, but ig he does that while the ores are smelting? idk i still doesnt make sense that he doesnt use lava

The sugar cane was such a inefficiency, should have sucked up 8 rows of 32 sugarcane by the creeper farm and pulling 8 stacks of it every full farm
BONEMEAL
If you ever do any similar challenges to this I have some recommendations:
1. Learn bastion routing, plenty of tutorials and practice maps. Significantly speeds up early game, and in this case also removes the need to brew since you get 10 billion fire res potions from em
2. Build any afk farms in the spawnchunks if possible, so you save time as opposed to making chunk loaders (not doing either is the worst option)
3. Always use afk farms over looting farms, worse rates sure but they will work in the background while you maximize the amount of time you do the non-afkable part of whatever the challenge is
4. Kinda like #2, build a decently big furnace array for smelting to reduce idle time, carpet duping is great for infinite fuel
Well if the farm relies on the player's presence that doesn't work. Mob spawning and sugarcane growing both rely on players being nearby so not much afk that could be done
@@alexion3007 I'm almost certain things that depend on random ticks like crops growing, do not need a player nearby and can be chunk loaded.
As for the first part yeah that's true, it wasn't meant to be advice for this challenge specifically since he needs to be at the gp farm but these were just some general tips I thought of after watching how he plays the game and his reasoning for doing things as he does (often the inefficient way in my speedrun and/or tmc brain).
@@rFeycrop growth requires a player, as they have a separate loading system based off of player position rather than chunks loaded, however mob farms can be chunk loaded and work based off of being the primary loaded chunk

bro im in 650 days in and the only farm i have is a concrete farm and 1 netherite chestplate with mending and fire prot 3 lmao
bro straight cheated AND couldnt make more than 5 blast furnaces to make netherite smelting more efficient 😭 easily couldve shaved 10 days off with more furnaces 💀

And one more day if he built the beacon next to the creeper farm, not on the other side of the planet. And setting up a sugar cane farm early on, using hoppers for the furnaces, and fueling them with lava instead of wasting time farming coal would have been faster.

yeah, seriously lame. the most interesting part of this challenge is making an efficient netherite mining method. I really dont think this is possible to do legitimately in 100 days, but if it were, you would surely see some interesting flying machines which empty lava lakes or excavate y=15.

This is insane, and to think when netherite was first added, this seemed like the most impossible challenge in Minecraft, and now someone has completed it within 100 days of minecraft. I am in actual awe.

Like bro, at that point, it's x-ray. You can easily tell where the debris is.
making it blue has nothing to do with x-ray, changing the colours of items is even allowed in speedrunning. and while i think the lava thing is still a cheat, what he meant by having to still find it is that he cant look and see everything immediatly, through the walls, floor, around the corner, etc, he had to manually fly through and mine it all

I know its a hard challenge but using that texture pack is literally x-raying by definition. Definitely considered cheating.
Just as a tip for future challenges, if you build the sugarcane farm inside the spawn chunks, it will be fully automatic and you do not need to AFK it
crop growing works off random ticks and they do not persist in spawn chunks without the player or chunk loader nearby.
tittle should be can i xray a full netherite beacon in 100 days? the point is xray is done to remove specific things to be easy to find ores, you removing the lava and putting netherite blue makes a cleary xray, but not bad video

Great video! Would love to see you try this only with methods allowed in speed running (you can still lava x-ray on the right y level) so that means no schematics, fullbright, x ray texture packs and replay mod.

Some slight optimisations though could be ofc more blast furnaces to spend less time waiting and using lava as a fuel source as you could easily make a nether portal at your base and get tonnes

It has been 4 days since this video was released and there is a high chance no one will see this comment but I will write it anyway.
I came to this video excited, and my excitement would lower everytime he activated a resource pack or did something that was just plain Minecraft, I was pretty set at some point on finishing the video, disliking and leaving.
But I kept watching and realized something, I have became the very thing I despise.. people who don't let you play games the way you want, this guy didn't claim to break any records, he didn't even mention anything of that sort, he wanted to complete something and have fun doing it, who am I to say how he plays MINECRAFT one of the only games where truly, your imagination is your only limitation (and sometimes RAM) so needles to say, I liked the video, and I am sorry for even thinking about disliking it.
I am not writing this comment for self pity or to reflect on myself, that's something you do on your own, I am writing this in the hopes that someone who was thinking the same thing comes across it and realizes that games are meant to be fun, no matter how you paly them.

Also, I agree that people should play the way they want to, but he should have been upfront about x-raying at the very start of the video, and probably in the title too.
Waiting until a very decent amount of time into the video to tell the audience that he was x-raying while not adjusting the title/intro to reflect this is just plain clickbait
When (most) people click on a Minecraft video, they expect the creator to be playing vanilla or something close (optifine, litematica, etc), or for the alterations to the game to be very obvious from the start (essentially any heavily game-altering mod). This is especially true when the creator claims to have completed a huge accomplishment, only to later reveal the use of what many people would consider cheats to make this accomplishment far easier.
Poafa didn't necessarily have to not x-ray in this video, but it should have at least been made clear that he was going to way sooner

I would just speedrun the game like usual and get elytra, set up in a village but ill also make a 2 min iron farm and also enchant and iron sword because every iron sword has looting enchantment first try in each world i would get that. I would use a cat based creeper farm because it is easy to get cats in vllage and I can easily go and use the same method as him to get netherite ingots.

@@Ardeshirali if someone claimed to have gotten a netherite beacon in 100 days and then just used creative mode to get the resources, that wouldn't need to be submitted for a speed run to be a bad thing to do. Different people might draw the line at what "cheating" is, but I think x-raying pretty clearly falls into that category, even if it's "just for entertainment"
