This is why we call it "Classic Rock"...The Allman Brothers Band were an American rock band formed in Jacksonville, Florida in 1969 by brothers Duane Allman and Gregg Allman, as well as Dickey Betts, Berry Oakley, Butch Trucks, and Jai Johanny "Jaimoe" Johanson. Many who have seen this band live, as I have will say they are one of the greatest Live shows, if not the greatest. The combination of two guitarist, two drummers a bad ass bass with Greg Allman's awesome voice and keyboards is hard to top.
Gregg Allman has so much soul in his voice that it reaches in and grabs your heart. That's him on the keyboard too. JMBOY, thank you for all the amazing music and great commentary. Your hard work is greatly appreciated and brings joy to so many of your fans.
Everytime I hear Duane soulfully strutting on that slide guitar it definitely takes me to a stormy Monday. He was just beginning to peak when he was taken from us. What would have been?? RIP brother........ your band mates had a helluva run after you left us! The reaction was sublime, TY.
MatthewBecker I totally agree with you. IMHO Duane Allman is the greatest rock guitarist of all time. He was so versatile. He was without doubt the greatest slide guitarist (songs like Statesboro Blues, One Way Out) and he could pick with the best of them(Blue Sky). It’s such a shame we lost him so early. His solo on In Memory of Elizabeth Reed live at the Fillmore East in arguably the best ever.
you do know that The Allman Brothers have TWO Drummers in there Band give a listen too Whipping Post Live or Statesboro Blues Live and keep your eyes on the Drummers thanks
One of the most common elements of a Classic Rock song, especially done live is to start the tune nice and slow, easy and subtle for a while, then they change the pace and take you to other level, hit you upside your head,,, because they can, most often letting each member do their thing solo and finish the song Rockin' the place damn good.
The proper way to review music is the way you do it, listen to the music, comment after the song is finished. People on here are stopping the music after every couple of notes which tells me it's all about them....continue on.
I love that you played and listened to this song straight through. It was clear to me that you were letting this great music "sink in." You showed respect for this amazing music and the band playing it. Thank you. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your reactions.
You should do a react to the song "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed" from the same concert. Its widely considered thr best live performance in Rock history. Duane goes absolutely nuts and invents several lead guitar staples in that song.
Excellent reaction. It thrilled the shit out of me to see you listened to the whole song without any pauses or interruptions like so many other reactors do. I hate watching some reactors who pause the damn song every 10-20 seconds, the song is just starting to groove & they pause it. You don’t seem to do that, it’s way better watching your channel, that’s why I just subscribed to it. Kudos Bro.
Over 80 Limousines in the parking lot... The entire crowd stood for the entire show....My favorite song from one of the GIANTS of Classic Rock... Sir Rod Stewart - "I Was Only Joking" This Live version is a MUST SEE.... I Was Only Joking (Rod Stewart @ Hyde Park - featuring Jim Cregan)
If you want to see how these guys do it on stage, and more of the unique jazz/rock/blues fusion, look up In Memory of Elizabeth Reid live at the Fillmore. It's tough to find that video sometimes but it's out there. Amazing performance.
This tune is a lot of fun to play along with on my drum kit. The fills are classic rock stuff. On a 62 piece kit... what a blast, it makes 3 drummers. As you said..."It Makes You Feel Something"
Thanks much for the reaction JM . Their live album from the Filmore East is noted as one of the best live albums ever made! You will be depriving yourself of some awesome music if you don't give this entire album a listen.
One of my favorite bands and one of my favorite songs by them. You can hear and feel the anguish cries of the guitars as if alive with their own heart and soul. You picked up the blues and jazz elements. When you react to “In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed” from this same LP I will be interested to see if you pick up on another influence I hear besides the rock, blues and jazz.
Please react to the next song on the album, Done Somebody Wrong. It is the opposite to this, you will not be able to sit still. It's a great track and almost nobody has reacted to it.
There's a movie called lightning in a bottle and scuttle. It's gonna be a small town paper. But for some reason, at the beginning of the movie Greg almond, the blonde headed Greg is sitting around a table with a bunch of blues. Man, black dudes all pimped up and everything. And believe you my greg's right at home how else
But it's a funny Aldi's hustler looking dude in there suits, and I'll decked up all sitting around it. It's a Swan white guy one. I'm blonde headed guy greg almond yeah yeah yeah
Best live album ever in my humble opinion.miss these guys very much.
The band put Macon, Ga on the map. Probably the greatest band to ever call Georgia home.
Best Blues Band ever.
One of the best songs of the rock era.

I've been listening to this for over 30 years and it's still brilliant
Amen to that!
even 50+ years hence, fully realized blues rock that's never been topped.
ABB, pure gold for your ears.
Thanks for getting to my request
You should consider reacting to the whole Fillmore East Album ✌️
Everytime I hear Duane soulfully strutting on that slide guitar it definitely takes me to a stormy Monday. He was just beginning to peak when he was taken from us. What would have been?? RIP brother........ your band mates had a helluva run after you left us! The reaction was sublime, TY.
Duane did not play slide on Stormy Monday.
❤Allman Brothers
ABB. An American institution. One of their later numbers, Nobody Knows. Not well known, but what a ROCKER!
Hall of Fame 1995 The best blues band of all time end of story R.I.P. Allman bros
The first guitar solo was by Duane Allman - the greatest guitar player of all time - he was the chosen one.

He’s my favorite 🎸🍑✌️
Amen Matthew. One of the highlights of my life was seeing the original band in 1971, two months after the Fillmore shows.
The second guitar solo is my favorite. Is that Dickie Betts?
@Wordsmyth8 yes it is!
you do know that The Allman Brothers have TWO Drummers in there Band give a listen too Whipping Post Live or Statesboro Blues Live and keep your eyes on the Drummers thanks
When you're talking Southern Blues/Rock, the Allman Brothers are the OGs. Amazing band.

Barry Oakley with that bass man, just too good.
Berry Oakley was a lead guitarist before he became a bass player which explains his inventive approach to his lead-style playing...

Proper music. Played by top Dollar Musicians.

The gaps between each rif are just as good as the rif and help to make this treasure what it is.

Best blues band of all time ⏲️ absolutely brilliant 👏 Bravo 🎉❤
duane's lead is absolutely SHATTERING ! the closest you will ever come to hearing a guitar actually talking.
Yes kiddies, that’s what a real band sounds like live !

‘The eagle flies on Friday’ meaning he gets paid from work on Friday!
My favorite jam band and tops in their genre however broadly you define it.
Defined an era as Talking Heads did years later.
Dude, you’re the real deal! God bless! Subscriber/thumbs up! 👍🇺🇸

Nothing like some Statsboro Blues.
Duane just has that tone
