the real "trust the process" team. didn't fire their coach even after some tough loses. kept patient with MPJ and Murray's injury. it all paid off in the end with the championship.
To add to that, the pickups of AG, KCP, Jeff G, and Brucey B over the past few years on top of drafting Braun helped bolster the talent they already had in their roster as opposed to paying a boatload for a single superstar. It helped to broaden rotations, produce different schemes based on the given lineup, and vastly improve their defense. They all brought something to both sides of the floor including various forms of energy, intensity, strength and intelligence throughout the reg season and playoffs.
Yep I remember how many nuggets fans wanted to fire Malone. People don’t understand how important continuity is in the nba. If you’re going to build a great team you need a consistent voice. Firing your coach every two years is how trash franchises stay trash
Idk, having Mitchell might have actually been a problem. I’d take Murray over Mitchell. Mitchell is super high usage and is kind of a ball hog tbh. I don’t think that fits with Jokic nearly as well as Murray. I know Murray isn’t an elite defender but Mitchell is a cone
As a nuggets fan, I know how hard it must’ve been as Blazers fans to make this. That rivalry the last few years got intense. Credit you guys for putting together a great video going back over the years for this team, truly fulfilling.
And the Nuggets v Blazers playoff series were very important to the nuggets development. When CJ cooked Murray in game 7, Jamal vowed to never be a defensive liability again. The triple OT game was the breakthrough for Jokic fitness.
@@Romanus-Nurkic/Plumlee trade was the catalyst. Nurkic’s exit from Denver was messy, add on the two playoff series in 19’ and 21’ and in the division. It’s one of the bigger ones at least on the Nuggets side.
At the end of the day, super teams will always have their their time in the sun, sometimes having overwhelming talent IS enough to win a chip. But the Nuggets win is a nice symbol for those teams that have a hard time attracting big names, and have to hope on drafting well, getting good people in the organization, player development and so on. Congrats, Denver!
Lol this is fascinating to see my Nuggets from a Portland perspective. I won’t say that I knew last summer that we’d win the title this year, but I definitely thought we had a shot when we FINALLY got the 3&D guys we’ve needed for years. But nobody had any idea what Jamal/MPJ would look like until early January (including them). That’s when I knew. As for dynasty, I completely agree with guys. Back-to-back is absolutely on the table, especially if Bruce comes back. Then see where we go from there.
Aaron Gordons growth on defense was the cornerstone to this champiobship run. He locked up dudes who were supposed to be impossible to lock up. Whether ANT, KAT, Book, KD, Lebron, Butler - an absolutely killers row of offensive talent - AG locked them up. I know people love excuses like injuries or fit or whatever but their stats while defended by AG are night and day compared to anyone else. AG was arguably the second or third most important piece on this championship run, just depends on how much you value defense.
It it really wasn’t even him growing defensively, it a team finally utilizing him to his strengths and putting him in positions to succeed as a player.

Great video. They had tough climb to the summit, no short cuts like Stockton said ' You have to climb the mountain to reach the top not go by chopper' and Nuggets did it with team building. They have to keep playing well this season and stay healthy they will be unbeatable.
I just think that Joker makes all players play harder and commit to their roles. If your best player is the most humble and unselfish dude ever, other players have no excuse to start acting up.
Millsap seems a "meet salary floor/give a vet a payday". They just dumped Gallinari... so that leaves Jokic on a second round contract and Murray on a rookie contract - similar to Lou Dortz's deal in OKC (except "loyalty" instead of "experience"). Millsap was "prototype AG" - especially if you saw him in Utah... You see his contract and kinda expect "20/10 team leader" - but his experience and "stretch big" game with solid NBA PF body made him really valuable to them. Replace him with a prime version and you have more of the "lob/dunk" threat AG is now
So sad the heat lost, but at least it was to a great team with respectful fans. The only people I’ve seen talk shit is mike Malone and fans of other teams. Congrats to the Denver nuggets on an AMAZING run ❤

Haha loved the good old days where portland fans really thought they are on our lvl.
The Blazers have not been the same since Paul Allen died. Give the team to Phil Knight. Portland is an embarrassment. They suck.
More like 56 because the ABA counts and they didn't win in the ABA either.

Yo, great video, you got yourself a new sub. I just released a super similar video on the same day on my channel, it was interesting to see the differences in how we laid the story out!
Bet you in another year, this team would look like a team that’s “unfair” when they contend for another championship. It’s going to be hilarious how much they are hated compared to how much they loved right now.
Bro makes videos with adlibs
100 million for anyone in pro sports is an overpay entirely.
It’s still f Denver to this day, but congrats
nobody was picking the Nuggets, are you serious? Most of the Nugget fans made fortune betting on them...
Mike Brown is a better coach than Mike Malone.
mvp never meant best player in the league. its never meant anything other than most valuable player. not best in the league
5 year it’ll be the most forgotten championship since Portland won in the 70s
Stop bashing!! it’s the system!!! You guys simply don’t no basketball at all
4:39 Yes, it was. I didn’t even like it at the time. This is why you don’t gut your entire team for ONE PLAYER, even if he is a star.
The Knicks shouldn't have re-signed him. SMH. Idiots.
So bassicaly he hating on Jokic won the MVP and deserve to win it he did crazy in regular sesson in 2022 said oh the Nuggets was six but jokic caring the team to the playoffs yet dont hate Embiid won the WokEMVP in 2023 and Russel westbrock won it in 2017 the OKC bareky made the playoffs came in six also outch rent free at it funiest 😂😂😢i wonder why damm why Jokic and the Nuggets is been hate for nothing 😂😂😂
Jokic didn’t deserve MVP as the 6th seed. This year was a much better argument
