All because of the KG and Paul Pierce trade, insane butterfly effect
It's more like the Guild Navigator front office seeing the future
Thank you Billy king
That's the blueprint. Don't wait around for your stars to get old....
And it's a wings league now
So basically they got them another one 😮😂
Sponsored by Billy King and the Brooklyn Nets
Jaylen Brown went from dribbling the basketball off his foot in 2023 to winning the finals MVP in 2024, what a difference a year makes.
Mmmmhmm. Gives inspirational vibes
In the words of UrinatingTree, the Celtics should build a statue of Billy King. Billy King is now a wanted man in Pennsylvania and New York.
Hahaha, thanks for reminding me of that joke! It finally came true!
Not our fault the Nets cant run an organization...not a Billy King issue
Honestly, this entire run was fraught with a decade of heartbreaks and painful endings. This team deserved the win.
I think what’s fascinating about the KG/Paul Pierce trade was that I think it’s the trade that opened up everyones eyes to how VALUABLE unprotected first round picks were, and just draft picks in general
Moreso I thinks it's that teams realized how crippling it is to give up unprotected picks and then be a bad team. Tomato tomäto.
Seeing Jaylen Brown with glasses explains all the "too smart" comments lol
I thought that shit died in 2013 lmao
@@jojijoestar7233still not dead. He might be the smartest man in the league which is why he plays the roles he does in the league. He’s just turned into an incredible player
Dude went to an elite college and studied robotics lol. I can’t play sports or be a math genius and he gets both.😭
Crazy that a lot of teams didn’t wanna draft him for being “too smart”
i would argue that drafting langford was important because he was apart of the trade to get Derrick White
@@footballkorvendavid ?
Romeo was mostly just a contract at that point. Somebody else would've filled that from the bench. It's not like he had value, SA wanted the pick and pick swap.
He was a filler. Didn’t add value
That Celtic Raptor series in 2020 honestly deserves a video, fucking classic
That OG bubble 3 to go 1-2 instead of 0-3 is why I think the Celtics lost to the heat. That series was over in 4 or 5 if OG misses that shot, instead it's a grind fest 7 game series and the heat got more time off before the series than the Celtics. It was huge. I seriously think that it's OG misses that, the Celtics go to the finals and beat LA because the Lakers with LeBron have not been good vs the Celtics at all since he got there. Who knows how the team would look by 2024 is that happened though, Stevens might still be the coach and some crappy GM came in and we're screwed for the next decade. Luckily it all worked out and we have the goat GM hopefully for another 25 years.
Danny ainge deserves more credit for this championship than any Celtics team he played on no doubt. He had to go through like 5 different PGs but finally found the right fit
He didn't get Jrue or White so all those PG didn't bring a ring. Marcus deserves one though.
The front office did it the right way. They got rid of KG and Pierce when they still had trade value and didn’t wait until they was totally washed. They were realistic with what they had and used it to get better. It was a rebuild done right.
At a certain point when you're falling, it's just better to accept it and find the best way to fall rather than continue to fight the fall.
Hating all year on the Celts to end up posting this it's too sweet 🤣😂🍀🍀🍀🍀
Thought the same thing lol
2013-15 is such a weird transition period for the nba
Yeah, it's like a weird tweener kind of years while, everything before and after those years are very distinct which makes that 2-year stretch all the more odd
The only thing I can remember from then is the Spurs winning and my dad being ecstatic because they had good ball movement. And that was the only thing that happened.
Yeah all the teams were bad especially the east 2015 to 17 were also weird years it's just lebron and Steph
@@thezackast2752u didn't miss much u can just skip the season and it's warriors Cavs like always
The process worked great
Good job Philly
Be careful. Probably gonna have to face them in the playoffs. Last time they almost won up 3-2. You can't tell me you weren't a bit concerned going into game 6 cuz everybody was afraid that Philly was no longer the Celtics toy in the playoffs.
When Kyrie did his grandstanding with 2 minutes left dapping and hugging everyone he completely walked by Big Al. Which as a grateful blessed Celtics fan I appreciate Al Horford even more cause I trust his judgement of character - and if Al Horford doesn't like you than you must be a jack ass ! #18 !!!!
I’ve never seen a worse concession in my life
I gotta watch that again. I didn't notice that. I didn't know that Al didn't like him. I thought Al just paper chased to Philly.
It's crazy how badly that Pierce Garnett trade blew up for the Celtics. Not only do you fail to even really contend, you also give the Celtics two all stars that they dominately win a championship with. That's rough
They also broke up the KD nets.
I'm happy for the Celtics, but... damn it... as someone who likes Marcus Smart, I am also kinda sad
Smart and IT should’ve stayed, just think if kyrie and hayward never happened maybe they’d of stayed
I think they bring him back again in the near future even if just as a depth piece
He deserves a ring.
The amount of talent we had in Boston in the last 7 years is insane the one I wish got to stay more than anybody is IT4.. Isaiah Thomas gave his all to the game
Don't make me pick between IT4 and Marcus.
The best thing about this is Al Horford finally has a ring. Not gonna lie, if I was him, I'd retire and ride off into the sunset as a champion.
Derrick White & Jrue Holiday INSANE BACK-COURT DEFENSE 💪🔥💪
I really love these videos!
I kindly request more retrospective videos because those are great to watch, rewatch and play in the background while doing other things.
Me being 15 at the time of the Gordo injury and omg was that the worst injury i saw on live tv EVER! Looking back, he was never the same :(
15:50 Tatum dropped a 50 piece in that play in and in that series I felt that should’ve been mentioned
Since I am early enough just remember these last two championships were won ‘08’ and ‘24’ 😢
Ah yes, those are "The Rapist" numbers right ?
@@Herzederdude there was no reason to bring that up
@@8Kobe24Steph30 There is no reason to bring up that man in the conversation in the first place. The fact that we are still glorifying a self-admitted rappist bother me quite a bit, is that wrong ?
@@Herzeder all he did was mention that the celtics won in 08 and 24 which are ironically kobe two jerseys numbers
young blud I was old enough to witness them bird years and it’s just a moment to take to yourself witnessing the best franchise ever winning yet again.
Lmao those 2018 Finals really were LeThanos versus The Avengers, but this time, he didn't have any infinity stones...
He had roombas
CRAZY that he's only 19 year old 😅🤣😂😅🤣🤣😂😂😅😅😂🤣😂😂😂😂🤣😂😅😅😅😂🤣😂😂😅😅😅😅😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😅😅😂🤣🤣😂😂😂😂
Jaylen Brown ENTER his 1st YEAR PRIMES 💪🔥💪
First video I watched from you guys! Would’ve loved to see a more detailed and in depth view, glossed over some important details. None the less cool vid! 💯
man, jaylen brown with glasses explains everything lol
Moved to PDX from New England about 13 years ago. Im a big Blazers fan as well, but loving the celtics run right now. Someday I hope we get a Blazers Celtics finals. Great video man!
soaking up this video with a smile on my face and also skipping the 2023 heat series section
The Spurs trade was not a fleece. It was a fair deal for both teams and where both of them were going
The fact is since that trade that was made to make the nets championship contenders they have never even gotten ro the conference finals while the celtics got there 6 times
Boston Celtics 2024 NBA WORLD CHAMPION 🏆
FMVP: Jaylen Brown
The nba version of the Hershall Walker trade is finally complete the Paul Pierce KG trade to the nets is the worst trade in nba history
PP and KG we’re washed at that point
Brad Stevens is the mvp of this team.
anyone who picked the Mavs was either hate watching or in denial
They also broke the warriors home court undefeated streak during the 15-16 season
This is what “trust the process” actually should look like
It was logical for Tatum falling to 3, Fultz was seen as the logical number one pick, Lonzo was the LA hometown kid so that’s logical the Lakers wanted Lonzo who also had really special talent but both got wasted due to injuries
The Lakers also bought in a lot to the sales tactics of Lavar. He basically successfully pitched Lonzo to LA. I don’t know if they would’ve took him without Lavar
Brad Stevens is a genius
It wasn’t just Billy King. The Celtics also got Jrue Holiday from the Bucks because John Horst is an idiot.
Blazers*
@@JokicCantBeatTheWizardslet’s be real, it’s both. The Dame trade as of now, is horrible in the lose of overall team defense, it 100% cost Adrian Griffin a job, and it may be the reason Giannis never makes it back to the Finals given his inability of late to stay healthy
jaylen brown went from dunking over kai cenat SITTING down to being finals mvp
Wish you guys talked more about how they absolutely shafted Isiah Thomas in 2017. He injured his hip, they force him to play in the ECF where he re-injures it. He go and recruits Hayward for them. And then right when he was supposed to get paid when the season starts, they ship him off for Kyrie who had no loyalty towards them, and even worse, they hid IT’s injury history bad enough the Cavs had to pay for it. They’ve always been a good team but the Celtics deserved to wait this long for a ring and Danny Ainge had to go bc of their maltreatment to the guy who made them a quality team again.
“Missed on Romeo Langford”
Oh you mean the guy they traded for Derrick White?! Lol
Im a Mavs fan, but congrats Boston
This channel been hating on em all year😂
Not sure how anyone could have taken a mediocre mavs team in 5 and expected to be taken seriously.
You love to see it
@@ErnieBert-eg8kd The Mavs beat the Thunder and Wolves, it was reasonable to assume they had a chance. People are pretending in hindsight that the Mavs had zero chance.
@@One.Zero.One101 they really didn’t. The only ones who didn’t see it were Western conference meat riders who bought into the media propaganda that the west was some all powerful juggernaut that no eastern team could beat. Reality is no one team in the west was good enough to pull ahead of the pack to be the dominant team in the conference. I mean the nuggets are great but aside from that many west teams are not balanced teams or they have a roster of washed up stars who were great 5-10 years ago. In hindsight the mavs had zero chance as did any other western team with the exception of possibly Denver.
I don’t think the Sixers got Horford to defend Giannis. I think the Sixers got Horford so that he wouldn’t stop Embiid. Horford in his younger days was an Embiid stopper.
Front office desever the finals mvp
Let's Go Celtics 🤜☘️☘️☘️🤛
It all depends if Porziņģis comes back hungry and healthy this next season, given he was was mostly irrelevant in these playoffs. You just know Tatum, Brown & Holiday will come back ready, Horford should be fine, White seems like a player who'll keep his edge. If everyone stays healthy they'll win the title in 2025 too.
Love Marcus Smart but sending him was another reason why we won the Championship.
Fun fact I saw Romeo Langford in high school and he seamed like a G leaguer he was great but it wasn’t how it felt seeing Cody Zellers dominate
The C's at the moment are kind if 04 Pistons-esque to me. There best players aren't MVP caliber at the moment maybe that will change... Tatum is only 26.
They rely on all their players contributing and playing elite in their roles. Definitely cool if they can be a dynasty with that type of team, but that is a lot of moving pieces to rely on.
Underlooked great story with the Celtics was Jeff Van Gundy’s story. That’s a whole vid in itself.
I think nba coach trades are fucking hilarious
My buddy is related to that Prince guy
The parade in Boston went hard today 🤪🤪🤪
Jrue Holiday is the type of player Marcus Smart thinks he is
Dont forget 76ers,if they didnt gave a max contract to tobias and drafted brown and tatum instead of ben and fultz they would have a scary team with embiid, maxey, brown, tatum and butler
Ben Simmons was drafted in 2016. Brown was drafted the next year And at the time Tatum was not seen as great of a player as he was now Even in good drafts you can definitely get it wrong. It's like a game of Dice really
@@ikedatike2533 brown was drafted in 2016 but i agree that in college fultz was better than tatum but 76ers were doubting in drafting him so the best strategy by ainge was talking about fultz in the media like he was mj 76ers thought celtics would draft fultz so they had to take an advantage
If Kristaps Porzingis stay healthy next season & consistent 2025 playoffs Boston big chance get #19 banner next season 💯 no doubts 💪🔥💪
This video shows teams to never trade with Boston lmao
thanks Dany !!!
Thank the Blazers for giving them Jrue
Billy King for the win 🍀
Good job
Front office was smart
18:24 thank u
They traded romeo langford for derrick white
Now that basketball season is done can Synthetic Basketball become Synthetic Sports?
He high key did save the show he was so entertaining and to be honest I was only hyped about the rock tag match I didn’t care about anything else
Would be funny if the Celtics trade Tatum and Brown to the Nets once they reach 35 years old
These dudes also picked the Mavs - the absolute clown show is hilarious.
Go Celtics ☘️🏆
They actually got 2 firsts with Porzingis
Celtics are pretty much the opposite of Lakers. Celtics were patient with allowing their young stars to develop for a potential dynasty run, Lakers traded all their young stars and picks. Once Lebron retires, Lakers are stuck with an injury prone AD, no all star talent and barely any draft picks

Finessing the East
Just some constructive criticism from a happy subscriber. I've seen this same topic done dozens of times. It's waaay overdone. I'd prefer something more unique.
Isiah Thomas was different man
Nah Boston wanted Kyrie back before the playoffs started, but his stinkers and response to the stinky games made people realize he was already gone and did not care about the team
2:36 what year was this team
This should be a 5 second video answer Brooklyn nets
what do you mean, Mavs in 8
No Shortcuts
Billy King Statue
Special thanks to the Lakers for doing them a couple solids and not drafting Jaylen Brown or Jason Tatum! 😂😂😂
To all NBA Teams (except Celtics), if you’re watching this video. Never make a trade with the Celtics 😂🤣
Trust the process
At least the Lakers don't have the most chips...
Bulls traded for Josh Giddey... thats bigger news
Bulls FO doings stuff stupidly? Nah that's routine.
Not big news that the Bulls are trying to be mid af again
Coaching situations on the next video?👀
Boston was overpowered this year
Dude Belichick was traded to the patriots. The greatest coach on the greatest team the league has ever seen. Lol. It’s totally common and just happened to Gruden after bill beat him in the snow bowl game/tuck rule game.
Lakers weren’t going to pick up Tatum anyway people forget Tatum was projected to go 6-8 pick chances are lakers would’ve fumbled the pick
Dynasty otw
we need to do something about pat riley bc he could have prevented all this by offering more than fucking “tyler herro” for dame
Lonzo got drafted bc the Lakers saw tickets sales.....he was obviously not the best un that draft buth they wanted to replace Russell for some odd reason like they we're already built to contend and they weren't
Losing hortfoed was way worse then losing kyrie
Bad boy pistons retrospective ?
They were the only 2020's superteam that won a chip or made the finals!
They weren't a superteam.Yes they were as good as many superteams but still their best two players were drafted in Boston and basically the only ''new'' players that they had were Porzingis and Holiday who are really good but not good enough to transform a good team to a superteam.(I mean they they had only one player on an all nba team while most superteams have AT LEAST 2)
@@philip5454 It felt like a superteam due to i'm a Cavaliers fan and it felt lob sided from the beginning.
Oh...I can imagine how it felt 😅
@@philip5454 The starting five for the Celtics alone is more to be worried about than any other team in the league, their team is crazy.
A super team requires a big three of stars, 2 excellent starters and 3-4 very solid bench players. Yeah we never had that.
Just imagine if Miami beats them in the second round next year
In the words of Tatum any trip to Miami now, "they're all easy"
That’s not happening
You forgot to mention how your smooth brain of a GM made that jrue trade just to give the middle finger to the heat so congrats you caused the next 5 month of cringe from JT and JB
