This is def one of your masterpieces sir..i dont know when your love of dark rides began...mine was maybe 2 years ago? I was watching a vid on the logistics of rides like Tower of Terror..ET..and the Haunted mansion.. then I remembered the creepy dark rides that carnivals used to have.... I find all of it so fascinating...

I worked the mine of lost souls, there is a spot near the end we hid in the dark to watch over guests making sure they don't jump out.

46:59 - i did not expect to see delaware in this list! you're right about us not exactly being known for our amusement parks lol. funland is the only one i know of in the southern part of DE, and the rest of the county is mostly corn and farm life.
the haunted mansion is all handmade props, and the mechanic that maintains it is part of the third generation of the same family to run funland since like... the early 60's. we used to do the bumper-cars and general carnival games there, but never the mansion. my mom worked at funland when she was younger, and was always afraid we'd get too scared of things like that when we were kids. i really wanna go and ride it this summer!

I rode Earthquake the ride in Gatlinburg, TN about 15 yrs ago when my grandparents took us out for a vacation. I love Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge for the beauty of the mountains since it is only 6 hrs from where we lived when me and my brother were kids. My grandfather took my brother to a small shop right next to the earthquake ride and I wanted to ride it cause it looked fun but my grandma went with me cause she didn't want me to ride it alone with a bunch of strangers next to me on the ride so after paying for the ride-i honestly forgot how much the ride was but the employee at the desk said the ride was only 5 minutes- we sat down and put on our belts and after a staff made sure every one was secure he instructed us to stay in our seats and not touch any equipment during the ride so the staff walked out and shut the door and then the ride started with a random dude announcing everything happening then the animatronics started(the gorilla's scared me as well as the spiders/snakes/etc) but the ride really sucked cause it was not what any of us on the ride(other tourists seated around us) were expecting so when the ride stopped the staff guy came in and said we can remove our belts and leave though he did say just as we all were getting our belts off he said we don't give out refunds so enjoy the rest of your day! After we all got off the ride my grandma looked at me like we are never doing that again and after telling my grandfather what happened he went over to the desk and demanded that we have a refund after the experience we had on the ride, the employee as well as the manager(the manager had a carnie vibe going on) she said 'oh you should have read the sign before paying for the ride' she pointed to a very tiny sign at the front entrance that was falling apart and was concealed almost by other advertisements for other businesses nearby, my grandfather had some words for the manager-i remember what all he said despite my grandma covering mine and my brother's ears up- and some people who were waiting in line to pay walked out as soon as my grandfather started chewing out the manager about everything including the sign at the front. The police were never called cause after my grandfather said his peace we left and he flat out said we are never getting on that ride again or going near it. It was a good vacation though anytime I hear about the earthquake ride I get good memories of that ride and how my grandparents handled the situation. But the ride still sucks and from what I hear it is still open despite everyone saying how bad it is, it's astounding!
I'm glad the old mill got revamped and came back. I've heard the original was great.
I will simultaneously never forgive and thank this channel enough for introducing me to my newfound love and appreciation for dark rides! (mostly thank!)

Happy that Knoebels was mentioned. It’s a park that I visit with my brother every summer, and one of my favorite parts about it is the old haunted house.

So I’m over here in Australia in bed with tonsillitis so of course I have a fever. So I’m clearly not thinking straight because I decide hey I’m going to watch 2 hours of fever dream dark rides!!! I’m going to dream about dollar store roars the reaper in Egypt (???) and the rest. Sigh* aaaand big red car. I’m so sorry. I apologise of behalf of all Australians for that monstrosity
