I’m SAD to never be able to see these retired animatronics as a Gen Z kid 💀😭 I would’ve especially love to experience the alien encounter one but sadly most people cannot appreciate a little horror :/
Dude also so many children in this generation obsess with stitch and if the ride was still open the amount of people they would get is crazy. I went on when I was a baby but I don’t remember, shame.
Fun fact about Nine-Eye at Disneyland Paris! You can still find her laying on the ground somewhere in the back, behind a robot animatronic in Buzz Lightyear’s Laserblast :D It’s a bit tough to spot her, but she still is in the same building as she was 30 years ago!
Skippy holds such a big place in my heart! I went on Alien Encounter when I was seven and I was so scared my late stepdad bought me a stuffed Skippy which I still have today
1:05:06 I love the sound of Automitronics. I could see those being used especially in entry or waiting areas to give a more personalized or magical experience.
Dreamfinder and Figment were partly the inspiration for my entire online presence. As a child, the original Journey into Imagination was magical. The Horizons theme song makes me cry... every time. I will tell you, Body Wars was classically empty. I remember riding it over and over again in the early 90s at like 9:00 at night. Way too early for an entire section of the park to be empty. It was great though- it was quiet, my parents and baby brother could chill, and my middlest brother and i could ride over and over in peace.
it would be nice to see where buzzy is, but at this point i think it's going to be impossible to locate all of the stolen parts as well as buzzy himself.
I'd like to believe that he wasn't actually stolen There have been people saying that a lot of stuff in the Disney archives that are said to be lost actually just haven't been archived yet and are sitting in storage However, with the fact that his clothes were auctioned off, it's unlikely that he's just sitting somewhere waiting to be archived and was, in-fact, stolen.
Back! Back! OOOVER THE FALLS!!! Probably in every home video we have from the 80s and early 90s. I miss these days and was devastated when I heard they turned my beloved North Sea trolls into Frozen 🫤
The weird thing to me is that Stitch’s great escape has two theaters, meaning two stitch animatronics. So I wonder if they stripped both of them down or if one maybe did get reused somewhere
I’d love to see an updated America Sings for Epcot or a future Disney theme park complete with new animatronics, new characters, and new song selections, along with a new modern section with songs of the current modern times of the 90’s, 2000’s, 2010’s, and beyond!
Lol, Disney would probably rather risk the sinkhole getting bigger than having the empty lot in the middle of their park. (At least, at the time, anyway. Now, that's all there is to Epcot.) Honestly, given that they dug the ground out to build the Magic Kingdom in the first place, they probably feel confident enough in their construction processes that any real risk would be negligible in their eyes.
@@julianascholtens4467 No such thing as construction confidence around large sinkholes. They can collapse and even swallow buildings. Chances are the sinkhole is under water & away from other structures. Probably never under the building in the first place.
I'm pretty certain one of the Xenomorph animatronics ended up at a museum. I remember hearing about it at some exhibit and the photos provided showed a sign claiming it was from this ride.
God, I loved Inoventions as a kid, and I have a VERY vivid memory of seeing Tom Morrow once and only once before he was removed. He was extremely creepy to me... But also intruging, and the idea of hom was very charming. I think seeing the animatronic workings through his coat is one of the things that made me absolutely adore and appreciate the art of robotics and animatronics.
Bit of an update - you can see Zazu in the background of the new We Call It Imagineering series here on RUclips - he's stored at Imagineering in CA. ;)
Man i was like 4 years old when i went on cranium command & journey into the imagination... i remember being blown away. Such a cool memory through my small eyes.
Great video 👍I would have loved to see all those animatronics appearing at the Tragic Kingdom. For years I lived 1/2 mile from the park. I could hear Fantasmic thru my bedroom window. Unfortunately, Disney got so greedy, and the price became too great to afford a ticket.
I hated It’s Tough To Be A Bug, it was one attraction that actually scared me and made me cry. I remember the only time I ever saw it that a few minutes later me and my parents exited it, and I never saw the attraction again.
It’s kinda funny and sad seeing how optimistic the horizons ride was, we’re not anywhere NEAR technology like that besides like VR and things don’t seem to be improving or advancing much.. Just shows how hopeful the people of the past were for the future compared to now 💔
Does anyone remember Asimo from Disneyland?? I swear i loved that little robot so much the first time I saw the little showing of the little guy. I would love to hear about him!
OMG!! THE GREAT MOVIE RIDE!!! Disney MGM was BY FAR the best theme park ever!! The movie ride was just scratching the surface. They had real movie memorabilia, a tour of Touchstone Pictures and Lake Buena Vista sets INCLUDING the Golden Girls AND Home Improvement houses, and the most memorable part of the movie backlot tour at that time was "a new movie" called The Nightmare Before Christmas.
I’m pretty sure in “it’s hard to be a bug” hopper sprayed the audience with “bug spray”. When I went as a kid, I think mist was sprayed on the audience, but I don’t remember spiders or stings from hornets.
For the eurodisney 9-eye, i know it was a hidden secret in buzz lightyear lazerblast, tokay, I dont know what happend to this animatronic (excuse me if i made mistakes, i'm french).

i went to disney world when i was around 7-8 in... oh god, like 2005? 2006? just in this video, we did... the great movie ride, stitch's great escape, honey i shrunk the audience, and i think the original phantom manor. stitch spit on me and freaked me out when the seats shook (though i begged for a plush of him in the gift shop) and my parents covered my eyes for the alien part of great movie. it's cool to see how it looked, even if i'm seeing it 18 years later lol
I wish people would of just read the warnings. The alien ride was so cool. In general tho it's a bit of a shame that a lot of the unique rides and attractions were replaced with BRANDS.
As someone with slight Mechanaphobia (taken from the apparently existing Submechaniphobia which I also have) being given the task to take care of a husk every now n then would be a job I would dread, yet have fear killing confusion for. It's just the part where the tech is likely going to be seriously overshadowed by newer tech, so parts/a reuse is not likely to me.
I never went on the original Extraterrestrial ride even the stitch one was kinda freaky but I have memories of waiting for my older siblings to go thru and watching families getting off ride with screaming children kinda glad I never got on the original
Its super obvious you can hear the AI used to try to enhance the voices, I THINK its Adobe Podcast/Speech Enhancer or something. Honestly it would of been so much better to just use the original clips, rather than hearing it like this with all the super noticeable artifacts.
No tea, no shade but yall have been building that duck animatronic since time began and I don’t know if any amount of patreon subscribers would actually get it finished 💀
America sings wasn't retired for the fact that it didn't fit in but because a employee was killed wile working on the ride she was crushed by the hydraulics

Wow I never knew this, I’ll have to keep an eye out next time I go
She's just sleeping back there in my opinion.
She really did travel to the future
I know others are not really fans of Stitch’s great escape, but I loved the animatronic of Stitch and seeing it in that condition hurts.
As some others have pointed out, there seems to be an editing error at 12:38, in case the editors would be interested in fixing it!

I didn't even realize the ride had merch! You're so lucky. ♥️
Oh my lord that sounds so cool!!!
They should all at least be rebuilt but only to be put on display throughout the parks or just in a museum they are ALL part of Disney HISTORY 😢❤
Totally agree
Disney should read your comment and get to work on it right away!

I've probably said this a million times but I hope they bring Dreamfinder back 😅
it would be nice to see where buzzy is, but at this point i think it's going to be impossible to locate all of the stolen parts as well as buzzy himself.

Escape and I’m so glad I saw it when I could.
A little precision about 9-Eye. At Disneyland Paris she can be spotted into the ride Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast. Ride who replaced Le Visionarium.
So many of the rides sounded AMAZING!!! Sadly I'm Gen Z. A lot of these got replaced but the should have kept the old ones!!!!

If there was a sinkhole under Horizons pavilion, how could they just tear down the old building & simply erect a new building. 🤷♀️
Because by tearing the whole building down and starting from scratch, they can build support structures.
@@julianascholtens4467 Doubtful they would take the risk of the sinkhole getting larger.
