With this being the outgoing model, I thought I should give this generation one last hurrah! What do you think about this generation compared to the new ones?
These are nice, I was thinking the Escalade next to the Platinum is a Luxury trim level the way the wheels look on that one. I do like the wheel design on the Platinum trim level & the color is perfect too.
I miss this type of Cadillac Escalade Platinum Edition. I’ll admit, the new Escalade has a much better taste interior. However, the exterior on the new Escalade is as tacky as ****! The 2014 Platinum Cadillac Escalade’s exterior is much more classy. I also like how it’s bigger than the new one.
If you look on the tailgate above the platinum lettering you can see that there is a flex fuel badge, GM stopped placing the flex fuel badge on all full size trucks for the 2013+ model years. So the last year of trucks to receive them were the 2012's. The badge was replaced with a sticker on the driver and passenger doors starting with the 2013 MY
The new Volvo XC90 (although it's smaller), Range Rover, Mercedes GLS. Don't get me wrong, the base model Escalade is still decent within it's price range. But bump it up to the Platinum trim and suddenly the Escalade is competing in a price bracket with far more luxurious alternatives.
I am pleased with my 2014 Cadillac Escalade Platinum. Just recently purchased it. I vow to take care of it. I gave my caddy the name "Black Raven."

The new ones are improved incredibly. Better fuel economy and more features, but still way too overpriced.
