Also, I will teach you how to use most of the interior and exterior features in a detailed fashion, that before, you could only get from going to a dealership yourself! Throughout the video, I will highlight key styling and unique differences about the vehicle, any available options, and of course it would not be an enthusiast car video without the good ole engine portion with rev and exhaust note with interior and exterior perspectives. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

I film all types of vehicles from past, present, and future while broadening the knowledge of the automotive enthusiast. You will see everything from vintage, brand new, exotic, mainstream, old, etc. I am very proud of this channel and have built it up from amateur videos years ago to what you see today. By far this generation Cadillac Escalade is my overall favorite from its ground-breaking design back in 2007 and to its prominence refresh back in 2012 with dual exhaust tips on Premium and Platinum trims. Very nice and powerful suvs.

Just found one exactly this model 2012 ESV Platinum black. 1 owner, retired, kept at their vacation home. 42k miles!!! Looks and feels like it came right from the factory in Dallas Texas. Bought it for 35k
I’m in heaven. The most luxurious thing I’ve ever felt. And it’s a beast on the road! That engine and exhaust purrs!
We wanted this generation model because there is nothing like this design. It gets far more attention on the road than the newer generation. FAR more.
We looked for a very long time and glad we held out until we found this baby ✌️

Better than the new model. The ride quality of the new model is that of a dump truck. This one rides like a cloud and has a more elegant look as opposed to the space aged look of the new unit.

I WILL NEVER OWN ANYTHING ELSE. I have put 120k miles in 14 months on my 2009 platinum, its been in 7 accidents, sunk to the bottom of a lake TWICE, hydrolocked the engine, rolled over once, and I use it for drag racing (as evidenced by the vids on my channel) as well as AUTOCROSS and sand racing, and it routinely goes offroad. I once didn't realize my oil filter was loose before a racing/ tug of war competition, and it started kncoking very badly. I still won the competition! It only had 1.5 QUARTS OF OIL, OUT OF 6!!!! I couldn't believe it still ran, and the knocking NEVER came back after I added oil. Guess what? NOT A SINGLE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, AT ALL!!!!!!!!!! I cannot believe this car, it is the most reliable car I've ever owned, and has needed 40 dollars worth of repair because the exhaust flex pipe gasket rotted. NO rebuilds, NOTHING. I don't even believe it myself, so I dont expect others too lol

I just recently brought the ESV it's a beautiful truck and actually fun to drive. The gas mileage was a little excessive to me when I first got it so I used my hypertech tuner to change the fuel curve and I adjusted for the 26's I've put on it and I noticed a better gas mileage in the first week. I know many people don't like sound systems but it's at the shop now having 4 12's and improved mids/highs put in it. Sounds crazy to buy a 80k truck and put 14k worth of rims and sound in it. I luv it

Unlike ford which decided to make the 3.5L Ecoboost V6 the only engine for the expedition. I love ford but what the fuck were they thinking by taking the V8 out of it? The 5.4 Triton V8 in the previous gen expedition was a total piece of shit but they should at least offer the 5.0L V8 in the new expedition.

    • @hakeemsd70m

Trikster1of4 The Triton V8 was an amazingly reliable and bulletproof motor. Ford was just super lazy and never improved the design, so they took the easy way out an installed it's Duratec 3.5 TT.

At first, I was getting a bit confused when he was saying previous models -- I was thinking the last generation Escalade, which were the 2002-2006 generations -- but he is referring to the previous years of the 2007-2014 Escalades.
And for the record, the 2007 Cadillac Escalade and 2014 Escalade base and luxury trims both came with harden materials in the bottom portion of the doors (as he was mentioning -- not only in the previous models but in the 2014 too, premium trim as well, except for the platinum models, which is a high-end Escalade for Cadillac and offer pretty much the best of the best in interior quality, and cost a cool penny.

It Still Doesn't have the "Drivers Assist-In Grab Handle",,, Boo !!!
And I assume it is All-Wheel Drive,,, i.e. NOT Allowing to be Towed 4 Wheels or 2 Wheels (Front or Rear) Down !!! A worthless vehicle to be used as a Tow (Toad) Car behind an RV Coach... It has to be put on a flat bed Trailer in order to Tow it either for recreation use or if it breaks down !!! We own a 2011 with the above stated Issue's... At 60,000 mile's we had to put New Front Struts on it... We owned our first Escalade,,, the 1999 first production Escalade and it had better features than our 2011 or this 2012... Our 1999 even had an extra pop-out Cup Holder in the Dash beside the radio... My wife Loved it... AND,,, "Beware of its Spare Tire" !!! It is an 18 inch size Tire,,, not the Standard 22 inch Tire the Escalade travel's on !!! We like our 2011 Escalade (basic model) but Don't Love It... It's finally paid for this month 09/2020 at 104,711 mile's... We'll run it for a few more year's then see what the other SUV Brands have to offer...

This is AWD or 2WD Escalade ? How to recognize it without decoding a VIN number ? This review is really good but for me it lacks information about the type of drivetrain . That's really impressive vehicle even after all these years.

Depends on the body height, width and sometimes weight. Also depends if you want them stacked or side by side and also how much concealment, if any, is required. Chopped up though you can get quite a couple of dozen normal built men.

The 2012 looks like the 98 model. They haven't changed much. Still is a symbol of excess that almost killed american automakers.

The only complaints I have on this are, that the front end is horrendous ( in my opinion it just feels blocky and outdated ) and the rest of the Vehicle is nothing but a redesigned tahoe platform with ass loads of chrome, wure the interior is BETTER but it's still not quite on par with some other behicles it may compete against such as the Mercedes GL, ML, or the BMW X5, still it is somewhat great vehicle for the price range.

American useless vehicle... not economical... not really confortable compared to european cars... cheap build quality ( it looks good but things will start to brake in a couple of years ), everything looks fake, and its probably no good off road... the front bumper is lowered for looks wich gives it useless ground clearance... way to go cadillac... you will never reach the european market with that kind of car...

If was to get a small size SUV I'm getting the Chevy Tahoe LTZ and if I'm getting a full size SUV I'm going with the GMC Yukon XL SLT. I like Cadillac and all but for an SUV I'm not spending that kind of money when I can get a XTS. Mind you I think GM makes the best SUV's out any car company in the world and also I've had two generations of the Suburban a 88 and a 97, two really amazing Suburbans.

With materials being what they are, and the obvious use of market wide soft touch vinyl material that is used from economy to luxury, the doors with soft touch shouldn't be a surprise at this price point. Given that though, why would anyone in the right mind want soft touch material there? My door has upper soft touch for arms, hard plastic for durability down below. Armor all or a bit of synthetic wax and dirt won't stick. Scratches also don't mean a heart attack.

The average income for owners of Cadillac Escalades is lower than that of the GMC Yukon Denali. Evident when you consider this platinum starts at 81 grand. 81 thousand dollars? Wealthy people who aren't dumb don't throw money away at this crap. I like Chevy, but Cadillac is a joke for what it presents itself as. At least mopar twins cost about the same even if the Chrysler version is aimed more "upscale".

As a cadillac ex owner before the economy hit. It was probably one of the worst buys for many reasons. I was out 70k out of my pocket right away. When the economy went bad gas was painful to waste. It felt sturdy and all, but somethings didnt do it for me. The aluminum was nice. There was wind noise coming from the right door. After 3 years it was only worth 35k half what i got it for. People srated leasing the new ones and getting finianced on a used 07 that it just wasnt worth owning one

I have nothing against american cars (in fact i would love to have one one day) but i don't see Cadillac as an luxury car, more like a JOKE car. Cadillac have no style.
This car is what exactly ? VW with few pieces of leather. Leather don't make luxury car.
Just look at the old STS for example. From back that car looks so cheap. Like you glued two different types of car together. Chrysler and Buick have much more chance than Cadillac.

A Ferrari isn't designed for optimal gas mileage its designed for speed and power look at how many valves a Ferrari has. Audi has 5 valves, 3 on the intake for power and 2 for the exhaust for quick exit. More valves equal more power and better power, its simple engine performance, what does a valve add? 2-4 ounces? a pound or two isnt a lot for the power increase it will provide. No my car doesn't make 400HP.

Actually the Escalade has extremely good reliability Cadillac's shield program is better then benz and BMW and I'm sure its better then Land Rover. The Range rover if you check historically has been horrible to say the least with 3 stars average compared to 5 stars according to Edmands that is. Sure you can do more with the range rover but people who buy top tear cars like this don't take them off roading. (when I'm talking about horrible reliability i mean top tear cars like this)

Im not a "GM hater" There is no doubt this car is nice... but also VERY outdated. There're certain key features that need to be updated, and revamped. I agree with Kyle when he said we will see a new model sometime soon. Escalades have always had a higher up look and feel to them.. but this model lacks that I do understand how Cadillac has put alot of resources into the XTS and ATS but dont leave your other model to suffer.
The real question is: If you had 80,000 to spend, which SUV would u get

  • @MrCarGuy

GM may not use solid plastic, but they use the cheapest materials they can get their hands on for any class of vehicle. Fact: GM uses a cheap engine belt supplier that costs 10 cents less than a belt that lasts 3 times longer and is much more reliable. They do this because they think people should change parts on vehicles more often to keep their dealers making a profit. I don't hate GM, they just need proper guidance.

  • @BigDette

Too much chrome, Very outdated, and common a very bad attempt at a shiftable transmission. In desperate need of a revamp. Although, Cadillac did make TWO great cars this year. Consisting of the XTS and ATS, all of their focus must have gone to those. Which is ok, but done leave your other vehicles to suffer. There are much, much better SUV's this end of the $80,000 mark.
As far as the review, excellent job kyle, very in depth, and great tour in this "New" escalade.
