    I had the same issue with my LOC getting hung up in my DAA Flex as well! The fix for me was to remove the Flex from my rig and install a Ghost Hydra P 😂

    I also had issues with the flex holster and my LOC. Moved to the Everglades and love it.
    I’m about 15k rounds into my gen 2 (?) LOC and it has been rock solid for reliability, I like the grip ergos better than Cheely and Atlas, and support has been great! Overall, a great value compared to bigger names.

    Agreed on the fitment of the flex. I have an aluminum ds9 hybrid and it took multiple fittings to get it to not doink coming out of the holster. You have to allow for a little more forward/back cant and slop. Also, I periodically take a swab with silicone spray and rub it all over the red parts contacting the trigger guard. I found that trying to dial in ZERO slop on the trigger guard during the fitting process makes the holster almost unusable. You have to account for a little bit of wiggle then just tighten it up with the shims. I saved my alpha-x for my ds9 open comp that just came.

      @TheGentlemanGunner  3 месяца назад +1

      @@colin8601 what has frustrated more is that on my aluminum gripped DS9… it ran perfect. Didn’t have to do a thing. After spending several hours, trips to range and matches as well as various combinations (loose & tight)… I’m going to look at different options. Not worth the time, for the lack of confidence it causes for me personally.

    • @colin8601
      @colin8601 3 месяца назад

      @@TheGentlemanGunner I certainly agree. There was a phase where I wouldn't even run a match with it and partially the reason that I have gone with the alpha X for the time being since moving to open with my DS9 comp. I think I have stumbled on the good setting and have yet to doink in a match. I think that silicone spray is key. For what it's worth, the dimensions of the frame between aluminum and steel are different. Although from what I have seen I am not sure if the Everglades is much better because I have seen people deal with wobble and shake in that holster too. And kydex is not an option if you like the gas pedal

    • @TheGentlemanGunner
      @TheGentlemanGunner  3 месяца назад

      @@colin8601I’ll at least give the silicon spray a shot. I did take it apart one and did a light layer of oil… it seemed ok for a short time and then came back. But I’m game for trying something I haven’t done yet

    Greetings from the other great state that starts with T. I have the same gun and holster combo. I was having the problem and did 2 things to address it and now I dont hesitate running the gun even in Steel Challenge. First I adjusted all the slop out of it that I could. There was still a bit of tilt back and forth and what fixed that was a piece of old ladder style pic rail cover on the dust cover railing. Then I had to really fine tune the cant in and out on the flex holster so that the gun was coming straight with my natural draw cycle. At first it would work with USPSA and wrists below belt but it took a bit more refinement from wrists above shoulder. Then I had to wrench the hell out of the locking screw for the ball. I have an aggressive stab down on the gun to get my grip and after about 3 draws i was bumping the holster cant where the but was more out and it would start hanging up again. Finally I stopped messing with a torque driver and put a full blown Allen wrench on it where I could get the leverage and problem was solved.

    I was hoping you'd talk about the Grip and how the texture is in your hands? Is yours the most aggressive grip texture or the medium? How is the texture for you? Also what are your thoughts about the Nitro fin slide release? Thank you!

    • @TheGentlemanGunner
      @TheGentlemanGunner  2 дня назад

      @@gair1944 I Have the S3 (Most Aggressive) grips and they will without a doubt callouses your hands whether you want it or not. I like the setup, but David (The Humble Marksman) description of it is best when he says making it through a full practice session would be a challenge in the beginning. Personally, I like them but would be fine with the A2 (my other guns have them).
      As far as the Nitrofin… I like them for two reasons… a consistent grip and index point for me… even when I might be in a hard lean or shooting on the move. The other reason is due to the size of palms… I have tendency to bump thumb safeties so this helps me keep my support hand forward more and I offset that with utilizing the thumb rest to perch my strong hand behind the grip to counteract what my support hand use to do.

    Hi there,
    I just picked up a new DS9 hybrid (serial # > 2200 and have not had time to shoot it yet ) and I’m curious if some of your ammo feed issues in your original DS9 (red grip - awesome btw) was during the time MPA was going through some teething challenges which have now, presumably been addressed?
    Planning on just using mostly 115g range ammo, but have read Lawman, Fiocchi and S&B 115g loads work very well. Just curious for your thoughts on it all and any wisdom you can impart for other brands that have worked well at the 115g 124g and even 147g loads with you DS9 Hybrid? Thanks for your help!

      @@TheGentlemanGunner Hi Paul, Thank you so much for the help. I have been a rifle shooter for a while and only dibbled and dabbled in pistols, why I have no idea, but it was really never a priority. That has since changed and so the DS9 is my first pistol (a lot of my decision had to do with input from you and the Humble Marksman reviews on YT as well as a few guys I know who have used one, but never owned it). So I hope you don't mind my questions, as I figure it is best to ask someone about the DS9 who owns it and uses it and uses it hard than anyone else. And so that would be you lol
      In any case, thank you for the prompt response and guidance. In the future, if I have any other specific DS9 questions, would you mind if i reached out on here? Thanks again
