It is quite incredible that despite his stature and physical attributes, Sergei Vasilievich was an amazing interpreter of his own works because it seems he could play the full range of dynamics...ppp to fff...and prestissimo to largo. He is a remarkable composer and also a remarkable player of his own works and of man other composers because of this fluidity, though not always a perfectionist.
what beautiful clear and crisp articulation, and touch. (yes mistakes) but great touch, and sound, that really captures the feel of the rhythm, and music
@cynic150 Horowitz usually had an agenda when he played, but unlike everyone else it was actually art. Same here. I hear his intentions very clear and I like them.
@KvachVasilich his ow Pesonally, I think he just wanted to prove he could play it faster than anyone else, and after performing it so many times it was another way of doing it a little differently. But you can hear many errors and faults. Yes, too fast. Done in the heat of the moment. That was H's way...
ho does make some mistakes though. maybe he wanted to interpret it differently, but at some moments ho doesnt follow the sheet. excellent techique anyway,

Why so fast? I don't get it! The slower tempo makes this piece so much more rich and beautiful!
lol...the end is so weird...but this shows that horowitz was a true artist...
