For all that is good and green on this earth, please keep the pipe organ. It is a virtue, self declaration and testimony to the will and nature of human ingenuity and perseverance. This performance has exemplified every ounce of what it means to be creative and mechanical. What are we without each other? Hollow pipes with no one to strike the keys.
An absolutely stunning and powerful transcription by G. H. Federlein of Rachmaninoff's, Prelude in g minor, originally written for piano, and impeccably registered and performed by Nathan Laube on the beautiful Joerg Glebe Organ. Besides the piano, which it was written for, this transcription makes use of the many voices available on this organ. The piece is so well done that it could have been written for the organ. The organ uses a compilation of ranks from the Sonas Paradisi, Caen, St Etienne. Cavaillé-Coll, St Omer Cavaillé-Coll, and St. Domenico Dom Bédos in Rieti, (Harp from (Unsure or sample set) Hereford Cathedral; Chimes from Milan Digital Audio, Milan Digital Audio, Masterworks 331 Wurlitzer [not used for this recording), all combined to create a single very well appointed and compete organ was done with with surgical precision. by Jeorg Glebe. Remarkable installation and an instrument that clearly holds its own weight.
I'm privileged enough to live in a rectory with full access throughout the day to the organ in the adjacent church. This is so inspiring. What an incredible instrument the organ is.
Nathan is "some kind" of genius with out equal in the 21st century. I think he could make Sergi R. wish he had written this prelude for the organ. Nathen brings out so many... new levels and dynamics to this work great work. Music is not on the page; it's in the ear. Listen... and you will understand. Do you play the organ? Each 'organ' is a very different organ. Blessings.
Schön, dich auch hier anzutreffen, Ludwig! Habe so ein ähnliches Teil bei mir zuhause stehen, aber ohne Pfeifen..;) Das könntest du doch auch mal in einer Parodie auf RUclips hochladen. ^^ ^^ ;)
What could possibly cause anyone to dislike this, what a bunch of tone deaf idiots. I love this transcription. Beautifully performed on a remarkable Hauptwerk.
Hard to 'out-do' the original piano version. But this does just that! Outstanding. Lover the registrations and the middle section works a treat with the strings and flute/diapason counter melody. Nathan is an inspirational recitalist. Spot on video!
fantastic as usual - went and looked at the arrangement which you can see on imslp - and amazing how nathan brings it to life with his very imaginative dynamic registration
This score (8 pages of music) can be downloaded and printed from imslp.org in PDF form free of charge. The piece is no longer published. s9.imslp.org/files/imglnks/usimg/0/0a/IMSLP299017-PMLP02017-Rachmaninoff-Federlein_Prelude_in_G_minor,_Op23_No5.pdf
I'm very glad to see that the sheet music for that transcription is available on IMSLP - it's well worth learning!!! [Ah, if only more of those lovely preludes were available to be played on the organ...] Otherwise, really good - beautifully played and very musically rendered!!! And, for an electronic, it sounds truly FABULOUS (though I've no doubt that pipes will always be better...)!!
You should have been there. The rendition of a YT Video ist just too restrictive. I have heard it on site with Joerg's studio monitors and a washing machine sized sub. That was another experience! Nothing may sound better than a pipe, true… but most churches are just acoustical desasters.
Oh my goodness, I'm learning this piece at the moment, and have just started learning pipe organ last month 😍😍😍 this rearrangement is brilliant!!! I wonder if there's the sheet music for this?

i still think it sounds better on a piano.

オルガンの演奏を実際に見たことがありません。日本には滅多に無いです、あなたが羨ましい!!
I hope virtually

I studied this at the piano but never heard the organ. You're a master! Thanks.
