Shivering. Speechless. How could someone else than Rachmaninov can play it better than him. I can’t describe it into words. The dynamics and the Horowitz ornaments are beyond any one’s ability. Just Horowitz himself and his grand at the living room

Most beautiful interpretation. Under his fingertips
the music becomes an embodiment of the soul.
Others may try to copy this ice skater on ivory,
but he is as individualistic as he is incomparable.

Beautiful playing. But sounds like it is in A minor. However his right hand appears to playing the G#. Not sure if video got sped up a little....

What are these nonsensical comments. Seriously, enjoy the music, period.

This is almost a half step sharp, so a little faster than he actually played it.

Is it me or his keyboard is one semitone over the regular 440hz tuning of pianos? Or perhaps the recording is pitched up?

Робертик в Украине уже есть самый большой
Генитальный пианист- Вольдемар Гашишевич! Его искрометная игра на рояле затмила игру всех великих украинских пианистов!
А вообще - обратитесь в больницу- вы тяжело больны на всю голову!

Both born in Russian Empire , Romanoff's dynasty, Ortodox church. Both escaped USSR communism and atheistic ideology.
Despite of some important improvements on massive education and industrialization in USSR , communists ideology is aggressive in nature and it is difficult to manage peacetime with them . Of course J. V. Stalin was careful diplomatic , in contrary to V. I. Lenin , who was radical communist and atheist.

Seriously - it’s jarring. Can’t tell whether the piano is tuned up a half step, or if it’s some distortion in the recording.

Most likely due to distortions in the recording. I hear this in a lot of older recordings and I think it adds some charm to be honest.
