Nikolai Lugansky, 2011

Rachmaninoff, 13 Preludes, Op. 32 • Lugansky - Rachmaninof...
“The G sharp minor Prelude, No 12, is the last favourite encore piece in the set, its harp-like figurations running like water down the window-panes of a Russian dacha.”
David Fanning
Lugansky is certainly the best interpreter of Rachmaninoff today. A master
Гениальный исполнитель музыки Рахманинова, тонко чувствующий пианист, прекрасное исполнение, брависсимо, русская душа, интеллигентность, очень красиво звучит.
Beautiful Prélude!!
Музыкальный поток страстей!
Marvellous interpretation!
Magnifique comme toujours avec Nicolas ! Il rejoint Nelson Freire et Clara Haskil qui ont sublimement enregistré ce prélude…
Браво, Маэстро ❤️
Great talent.
Bravo 🎹
You can hear a bit of the Chopin B minor Scherzo at 1:21
Do you have a live performance of Lugansky performing the op 39 no 1 Etude tableaux?
Sorry I don’t. Will watch out for it.
Thanks. It was on his program at the recent Piano loop festival, not sure if it was recorded though.
❤️......
What pianist could express Rachmaninoff's prelude as well as Lugansky?
Someone please tell me : is that what he played as an encore for his concert in Paris on November 19th 2021 ? If not which piece ?
👏
He's such a stunning pianist - but for my taste, this doesn't quite 'float' as perhaps it should. Slightly too businesslike. But still, a masterly performance. Thanks for making it possible to see it!
Agreed Kinda chatty with all them arpeggios that, to me, should bee more gossamer. I've never heard a single recording of this fabulous piece that I like. Any suggestions?
@@paules3437 At the time I commented I listened to quite a few - and now I can't remember the outcome...! [Edited to add that there's a performance by Kissin here on RUclips which is much more expressive (of course these are all matters of personal taste).]
@@paules3437 Ashkenazy or Horowitz?
@@astanakazakhstan3220 I think I've heard both. It's been a while, but I do recall not having ever found one that I like. Perhaps Boris Giltburg, but I'd have to look. I realize that this seems presumptuous, but still, it's how I feel
@@astanakazakhstan3220 I assume you're referring to my cousin Buford Ashkenazy and my best pal JimBob Horowitz....
