Very impressed for someone who has no knowledge you did well! Little tip from my master Sea-Doo technician do not mess with the carburetor and less you know exactly what you are doing if your mixture of air fuel and oil is not exact it will burn up that motor in a blink of an eye. The coldstart is absolutely normal that’s why they have a choke so no need to mess with that I would absolutely investigate you’re wearing and jet pump next because it requires maintenance if it has been sitting. There is a rebuild kit it is very simple if you have a manual to rebuild the bearings in that pump so I would highly recommend that. Also your oil pump is something that works and then it will go out without any notification that’s why it is recommended to block it off however if you choose to keep it I have encouraged my customers over the years every year rebuild your carburetors completely dairy simple kit follow the instructions and you will have no problem while doing that replace the oil pump very cheap very easy to install. And lastly buy a compression gauge and check the compression of your motor frequently keep along if you start to see a massive drop in compression consistently over a couple of rides it is usually a sign you have a major problem going on and will likely soon result in catastrophic motor failure. The normal compression ratio for that 787 motor is 140 psi no less than 90 psi. Outside of that you are on the right track of finding those replacement parts Hydro turf makes excellent seat cover and seat replacements as well as mat replacements with peel and stick design. I look forward to following the channel and seeing what else you do with this I am very impressed not often do you find one that has sat for that long and operates without issue!
You know thats not a 787 motor it's a 720 because there is no rave valves just thought I would tell you
You sir sound like a pro. Great to see you helping this younger guy out. Kudos to you for your guidance! Cheers!
It’s not hard to tune a 2 stroke man. Just close all the tune screws and crack them counter clockwise about 1n half turn. If it’s still rich then one more full turn should be at the right air ratio. Anything more than that will lean out the cylinders and fry your pistons
@@jonnysnipes3123 I'll make a note of that!
Call it "FRE - DOO" Get decals in the same font style as SEA - DOO
Yeah Free-Doo sounds good!
Is that what you WOO - DOO?
Dont worry about the oil block off kit. I just did one to my 96 yamaha but only because it was smoking pretty bad. Now that i can mix my own fuel it doesnt smoke as bad, just like a normal two stroke, i assumed the oil pump just started feeding too much oil. It used to look like a locomotive frieghtraining down the railroad haha.
I recommend Lucas smokeless 2 cycle oil, runs nice and no smoke :)
It requires Seadoo Rotax Full Synthetic 2- Stroke oil. He uses some cheap s*** in this video. Rotax 2-Stroke oil is about $50.00 a gallon but well worth it for performance and engine protection.
If the stumble is always there, that means it’s probably the low speed circuit adjustment. Adjust it for the highest idle. If the stumble is after its been sitting a minute or two it’s more likely a delay in getting a good fuel supply to the carb, when could be a weak pump or an air leak in your fuel pickup and fuel “in” hose
Wow I just picked up a couple of 96 seadoo XPs. They had sat for many years , looked just like yours (planters lol) . I would be happy if I could just get one of them going.
This is amazing 👏 🙌... great job brother..
Make sure you rinse it out and wash the inside and out after every use if in saltwater. You will rust it out if not. Make sure to replace your anti slip rubber. It is there for a reason.
The issue with having to choke it after it is started so you can go without it stalling is the low speed screw setting. The service manual should specify the number of turns it should be, it may have been bumped during shipping.
If you're having problems on startup have you tried adjusting the tick over screw? They can be quite troublesome recalibrating a carburettors but I'm sure you could figure it out! Good luck and have fun out on the water!
Add Sea Foam to the fuel it is an amazing fuel system cleaner and use only premium fuel.
Those knobs for gas on off and Rez are really hard to turn, u made it look easy usually I have to use vice grips.
Gonna want a new wear ring and carbon seal kit. The carbon seal looked worn
Probably should replace the wear ring that goes around in impeller
Yes I learned this after the ring exploded and got stuck in the impler
probably the mixtuer screw
Wanted to add another sub 4u bro,
Just catching up on your work 👌
Your videos are great! Leave the technical stuff to the pro's. Ask for help only when you need it.
J’attendais la video, Bravo 👏
Great Job!
And do your own Graphics like you did the green and yellow one just do it in black grey white with a little bit of red
Well done
Definitly a minion decal should look nice.
You really should get the jet pump rebuilt
Good job!!
Turn about 3/16 to A 1/4 turn the most 1/2 to 1 full turn out.
Oh you need next is the motorhome and you’ll be set
I have a 2000 RX Seedoo
How do you know if it's on reserve or petrol as it doesn't have a arrow silly question ⁉️
A jet ski is basically a boat. You know why the calm it a boat, don't you? B-reak O--ut A-another T-housand.
I think that a one color lookwould be nice
Perhaps you should have read the comments here .....about the 2Strokes Engines do you have Kijjiji there ? good place to find parts
whats the name of that pump you used to get the gas out?
How much was the carborator
Free-doo
What I want to know is what happens if somebody's jet ski breaks down in the middle of Lake
Poor sea foam in the gas tank and shake the jetski so it mixes in with the gas and let it run for a while because the sea foam helps clean the motor and gunk that shouldn’t be there
Name it Free Doo
The hiccups at the beginning is the wear ring going bad so you are losing propulsion
Wrong oil, should only be using full synthetic, NOT TC-W3.
You should absolutely mix your own fuel. Then no worries about the oil injection crapping on.
how did you know how work 2 stroke vs 4 stroke ahahahah daamm brooo
Japan only
👏👏👏💪
Glad I never bought a Jet Ski I get out in Middle lake and it quit working. Too complicated for me
I wouldn’t worry so much about the hiccups when first starting. Being it’s a 2-stroke it needs a little help
yup - typical ski-doo! just keep clean fuel in it and do the regular maintenance. and keep extra spark plugs on hand; like in the machine - nothing sucks more than a fouled plug in the middle of a lake!
Wow! This is my kind of project. Take something totally abandoned, fix it so you can start having fun with it, and then, with time and patience, bring it back to it's old glory (or better, bring it up to what you want it to be!). Love this channel.
The hiccup hesitation when throttling at fist is a basic adjustment on the low side of the carb.
Was just about to say the same thing. You can look on the SeaDoo forum and get the adjustments for this card. I'm sure its probably close if its running that good.
For the graphics, how about themed on what's on the wall of the garage. Then it will certainly be one of a kind.
I had made one of those comments and you are so amazing for admitting the wrong you took it as positive and didnt make up a excuse like you know everything. Mad respect to you man not to many people like that anymore. If you ever want to ask anything hit me up can give contact info to you. I'm In Clearwater also have skis if you wanna ride.
I’ll be over at treasure island next week for family vacation. (Also to test out my electric beach cart). Won’t have the sea Doo because it’s current tore back apart for paint and other upgrades.
I head over that way quite a bit. Might take you up on that offer sometime. Sounds fun!
I'm near Clearwater and looking at 2 project skis possibly. Both are 2005/2007 seadoo gti/waverunner vx. Done some motorwork and general car maintenance, worked on some bikes with my dad, but never touched a PWC. We'll see.
Great job! Wish I had a name to suggest, definitely do something wild with the color and cut some severe graphics, just not white.
When it bogging out and hiccuping it most likely need 2 minutes to warm up. My older 2stroke dirt bike requires the same
Startups are always stuttery on a 2 stroke, that’s just the way it is!🇬🇧👁
All the old skis start like that your lucky you found a free one good job saving it ps your not going to hurt it reving it up on the hose don’t let people scare you have fun with it I enjoyed the videos
A good word of advice. You should be running Seadoo 2cycle oil only in it. There is something in the oil blend that helps the engine last longer.
Congratulations! Admire your willingness to "jump-right-in" to save this vessel. Going to find one myself and attempt a salvage/overhaul recovery.
You are a nice young man and a good guy. I love your channel. I subscrib your channel from day one. Keep up the good work. Love from Denmark🇩🇰👍
Check the compression ratio on the cylinder head and that fuel selector should not be turning all the way around and I worked for seadoo in south africa capetown and also becareful with auto lube system for the 2 stroke oil I would rather keep most of the 2 stroke oil in the auto lube tank but put some 2 stroke oil in a separate petrol tank and pre mix it for the main fuel tank. I suggest that and also make sure the auto lube tank feed line doesnt come off because if that engine doesnt get the oil u will seize that motor quickly and throw a rod out the side of the block... keep it up buddy u doing very good with the ski and I'm loving the 2 stoke video because we dont see alot of the in south africa... be safe on the water way...and can u please give a shout to me from south africa 🤟🤟
Its common for 2 stroke engines to stumble after a cold start. My yamaha gp 1200 is notorious for running rough until I get some heat in the engine.
The yellowing brownish stuff on the gel coat comes right off with toilet bow cleaner called snowbow or the works try it it comes right off then u can wax it
Name: The Black Pearl
Wrap: black with pirate theme/flag
A 3D printer would be a good investment for projects like these.
Where do you order your parts from ?
My experience with premix, if you have to do it, get "the cup", it'll greatly simplify your life. Secondly, you never know EXACTLY how much gas you need to add, so you never know EXACTLY how much oil to add. I typically do it in increments, which is a little tedious but more accurate. Not for or against, just a little insight into the joys of premixing.

The exhaust manifold and pipe are consumables, last maybe 3-4 years with flushing. Buying used is a waste of money. Cost about $1k new without labor.
You should more modify engine and better to paint new colour?
You need to be in at least 3 feet of water before you start it. you need a wear ring and file the impeller. its like a 100hp vacume with tight tolerances so any rocks with ruin it. You will have way better acceleration
What kind of pump were you using to suck that old gas out?
If you didn't just have the carb rebuilt I would have said switch the air box with a k&n air filter because I have cracked 2 carbs. The reserve is just a fuel line that goes from the bottom of the tank
Using an aftermarket air filter can cause carburetor issues and lean conditions which can have pre-detonation be designed the air intake for a reason
I'm going with the obvious Scoobiedoo
I have just watched some of your videos, you asked for advice. Clean the vinyl with a mix of sudsy ammonia and water, let it sit for a while and scrub with white scotch-brite. Change the rims from painted to galvanized on all your trailers, also upsize your rim and tire size.More efficient for gas savings, put in bearing buddies also; you will thank yourself. Enjoyed your videos, very well done.
I don't watch much TV, just great videos like this. Thanks. Saw you with @Samcrac today, and thought why not see what you've been up to? Cheers!
You need to align the arm on the oil pump to be at the correct position at idle so that it gives the right amount of oil at full throttle. On my old 657x (same block as your 717) the pump arm had a notch in it that lined up with a notch on the pump to indicate the idle setting. If you leave it unhooked and free it will just run the oil mix wide open as a fail safe. When you run it on the hose if you just put a quick disconnect on the fitting you can pop the hose off before you shut the motor off to prevent filling the motor with water. You’ll want to replace the wear ring to solve it being slow out of the hole, and at least do a pump oil change while you have it off. Check out seadooforums.com for more info and help.
Nice update. Surprised you drained the two stroke oil. Would have been fine if no water in it, oh, and please go and shave that fluff off of your face...
Drained it just to be safe. And yes, I’m looking pretty rough right now. Maybe one day a can grow a beautiful beard.
Just bought a jet ski just like this one. Had been sitting for awhile. This has been super helpful and inspiring. Thank you
First thing you always do whe buying a 2stroke ,outboard or jetski
CHECK COMPRESSION

That hiccup issue is pretty common on 2 strokes, sometimes takes a few tries to get er started. 4 strokes are way more reliable and economical. They're also significantly sturdier.
PWC usualy dont get a name since is not a BOAT, but you can call it SINK-A-DOO since its the common joke for the brand, many end up sinking. 🤪🤪😜😜🤣🤣
Biggest tip for anyone that owns or works on a Seadoo 2 stroke is to join the Seadoo 2 Stroke Owners group on Facebook.
2nd tip is to get a free manual.
seadoomanuals.net/
Sbt.com has a well organized page for PWC parts.
Technically there is an oil filter. Located inline between the oil tank and oil pump. Doesn't sound like that's what you got or were expecting. 2 strokes do hold oil in the crankcase normally and periodically need changing along with a filter, like a car.
I loved "
In my defense" Yada Yada Yada.. (2 seconds later)
" Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to defend mysrlf"
LOL! I love your channel. Only big negative is,,, you dissappear from you tube mos at a time. I don't know if you realize it or not, but if you stepped up your content to at least a constant weekly video, you woukd hit 500K in mos. And a million in a year or maybe 2, but that's life changing my guy! Step it up and you'll be in the funnel of success! You just have to pour more into that funnel. I like you, your content is in point. Keep it up, just step it up. I appreciate you. 👍
They sale sensor cleaners& brake cleaner.& CRC cleaner for those types of jobs.,or Pacific reasons at advanced auto parts.& autozone auto parts store.& O'Reilly's auto parts stores they bro. Just A heads up to you.& spray those stuck with either WD-40.,PB Blaster it's penetrating oils that frees up.& loosens sticking parts.&etc. Like your problems your having on your skidoo jetski.
Nice job buddy! You have inspired me to work on a old SeaDoo as well! They are everywhere in my area. Keep up the great work and videos.
The look on your face showed it all when you seen it run bud that there is a great feeling! That’s the feeling that you just wanna chase with every project!
I lost all interest and hope in this channel when he talked about the oil injection system and not doing it because he could "mess up" the premix lmaooo. And also when you sent the carb out along with many other things.
Hello Sir....
I was offered a Jet Ski today for $400...including the trailer....Thinking seriously about buying it
seadoomanuals.net
seadooforum.com
Seadoowarehouse .com
sbt.com
Some of the best resources out there for seadoos. I’ve been working on a 96 spx. My dad is looking at getting a 02 gti le as well. Good luck!
Let that electrical component completely dry good.& then test it with A multimeter prefred A very good one. If not A wal-mart digital one will work. Check the voltage on DC voltage switched band side aswell. I would get the wal-mart one to save money it comes with instructions inside on how to use them also.
if we see a PWC ,and it says free, how do you know it's not a blown motor??
That's awesome that you're working on it yourself, that's the only way to learn 👍🏻 And btw, that chick is smoking hot!! 😳
I would have rebuilt the carburetor
Definitely check the steering cables, dont want that to break planed off doing 60 mph.
Please tell me who’s doing your wraps I need my dirtbike wrapped but I just don’t know who to go to
Reserve is just a second pickup that goes deeper into the tank than the primary pickup.
I'm just pissed off you've just been given a jetski. Anyone want to give me a free jetski? I'll cat poo on RUclips if you do.
I would be exteremely happy if you found new music to add in the background, it gets really annoying after hesring these songs for the 100th time.
Still, great job and great vidz, stay at it, I like you
That’s what you took away from this young lads video?
There are strict laws on music you can use, hence why you hear the same music in a lot of different youtubers content. It also takes a while to go through the music you can use to find something appropriate. I would be extremely happy if you found new music to add in the background for this productive young gun!
And post him a few links to help out
@@aleho1 Sorry Alex, I know that it's not that easy to find new songs, but my comment wasn't meant as mean as it seems. However he used new music in his new videos, so I'm happy again.
install water valve at the end of the water hose so you don,t have to run to the tap all the time
Excellent work, can’t wait to see the next round!
You must not know much about seadoos because a ski that was sitting for 14 years you dont just put a rebuilt carb on it and a battery than start it you do compression test put new fuel lines in check the oil pump and another thing the reason it took a little while to get moving it needs a wear ring in the pump and check the prop and change the oil in the pump
Hi,Better of deleting that oil pump
And premix 40:1 😉
Check your fuel lines
If they are still oem grey than replace them
See the problem with that is if you decide to use the crap outta them the suck gas down like like it’s beer so it just better to keep it on for convenience
Right 😉
But that ski is old plus it was parked under The cloud for X years
So The pump might stop working anytime
#Polsky_Dave The stock Seadoo oil injection system is quite reliable and should be kept ..... running premix just uses way more oil than necessary and the mix ratios are always off when adding oil after a fuel fill up.
Check the wear ring or did u already do that it’ll give u faster acceleration
