You had rust down the spark plug threads, I'm thinking the last guy had the coil packs out and the plugs loose and left it apart in the rain for a couple years. Probably just slapped it back together to sell.

@@chugaaaI read in the manual that if you tow these and don’t crimp the water inlet hose then it will fill the engine with water. I’m wondering if they towed it to a dock or somthing and it filled with water and then sat or they flipped it and it hydrolocked and let it sit from that. The guy said these were his daughters skis🤷

First time watching, very nice job. I was shocked when you hit 2oo psi on all three cylinders. Normally piston ring manufacturers specify to use a tool to expand and position on piston so you appear to have gotten away with one. What did you use to clean rings and piston ring grooves? Other thing is permatex and others make engine assembly lube. I would use alot of it on cam lobes, connecting rods and crankshaft bearing journals especially. On dry start you can do alot of damage before oil film develops between wear surfaces. You can't use too much assembly lube in my experience.

Only just been recommended your channel, fantastic workmanship, athough you've got plenty of work still to do!
One thing missing - and I know you call yourself cheap from some other comments and I like to fix everything I can myself as well - but how many hours have you spent and how much in parts to get to this stage. Or maybe let us know at the end of part 2 - assuming you get it working and back in the water - of which I have no doubt given what I've seen so far!
Reason I'm asking is at what cost does all this amount to against maybe buying a 2nd hand working Jetski, or maybe refurbished parts elsewhere - and I know its difficult to quantitify your own labour, plus you'll get hopefully a low hours, known quantity jetski at the end (assuming you don't sell it that is).

Engineers made that way too difficult. It still amazes me after all these years that companies haven't been able to simplify the install and removal of engines and wiring harnesses. California law makers must have been involved!!!

The 4 stroke one was sunk definitely sucked water inside and they just couldn’t get it out because they never took the spark plugs out and then turned it over they probably fried or just thought the starter was fried and I would definitely fix it that happens a lot and unfortunately some people just let them sit afterwards and it’s an easy fix if done properly and asap but taking it apart that was definitely what it needed cleaning and new fluids and head gasket and it’s probably gonna run good but the other one I hope is not 4stroke bc if it’s hit something hard they will bend internals more often than 2stroke engines just like the lawnmower engines with pushrods so when u hit a stump ur out a blade and a engine

@@TheHomePros6221 yeah I’ve worked on these guys all my life and I’ve seen it happen so many times. Mainly from people getting to the lake and having a low battery so they use jump packs and fry the brain. Which is EXPENSIVE. These guys fully rely on power so anytime messing with these always have a fresh battery. I’m also only speaking about 2010 and prior. These new ones I really don’t have much knowledge on.

I will admit it's not unusual to find low hour skis here in Indiana. Back in 2014 when I got my 2000 kawasaki stx900 it only had 35 hours and I gave 1200 for it. Things ran fine for me. It does have low compression but it's never been an issue for me. Thing about jet skis is so many people just like with quads and side by sides. And boats. They sit. Why is beyond me I'm on the water as often as I can even now having 2 kids
