    Often rentals they neuter them to limit top speed. The seadoos often come with different keys some have 2 or 3 with different levels of freedom. It even limits how hard you can turn at certain speeds.

  • @3akoscielski
    @3akoscielski Год назад +8

    The GTI does not come with the reboarding ladder. The GTI SE comes with it. You can buy it though and add it on.
    I just bought a similar model, Wake 170, and I am SUPER pumped for it. FYI your model is probably 130HP. But it's the same engine as the 170 HP, it just needs the ECU to be flashed to 170HP, no part changes. You can get the upgrade from Reliable Tuning, or other tuning places.
    The rentals you showed that are going for 6000 are GTX Pro's not a GTI like yours. Much different hull, the GTX pro is still a fiberglass hull, not a polytech hull.

    Something to take into consideration is that you get 2 keys with the Seadoo, one is a learner key which gives you about that speed and the other is normal (full potential). I would leave the wearing for now, complete the build and see. Normally when there is an issue with wearing or impeller, it would be high revs and no go (like a car with slipping clutch). Something i have noticed is that if the ski was not used for a while, if u start riding it for an hour or so it gets better (faster). Carbon seal would obviously be something to look at if it takes on water but this is all quick and easy fixes thats easy and inexpensive to repair.

      Also if it is a rental unit it could be what’s called a R key rental key which will limit rpm and top speed if he wants to contact me I have buds and can check all the engine lights and program any keys he wants for free

    Be sure to check the carbon seal and the wear ring and make sure you have the correct key and not the learners key which also limits your speed. Don’t lose the vin when you do the fiberglass reriviting it should work. And to fully change the oil and suck it all out hold the throttle wide open and crank for 5-10 sec at a time so that about 3 times or until it starts to run dry. I don’t know if the newer seadoos use paint,epoxy or gelcoat but try and Stick with what they used originally paint doesn’t tend to hold up well with jetskis. Hope the build goes well for you.

    A quick tip for you on diagnosing a clicking ski.
    Use a multimeter and put the positive (+) end on the positive cable attached to the starter if you get 12v when you hit the start button it’s a bad/locked up starter. If not it’s the solenoid.
    The starters on these skis can lock up when you transport them long distances so if it’s been sitting a while give it a whack to see if it frees it up.
    There’s a really good video that explains the whole clicking diagnose issue on skis that I’ll link below as it’s a hidden gem on RUclips.
    ruclips.net/video/i74IxbRjW5s/видео.html
    I only found it due to rebuilding a clicking 800 XL. Ended up being my wear ring needing replaced. If all else fails a really good tip if everything seems to be working is to remove the jet pump/impeller as a seized impeller will stop the ski from turning over as well.

    Take into consideration that the gauge might say it has 600+ hours, but since the gauge package on powersport equipment is the one who keeps track of the miles/hours, they might of left the key on collecting hours so there is a real possibility that the engine might have less runtime.
