@@AdamSwords Thank you! I really hope so. Even if I don't and just fail at everything at least I still get to see everything you and Michael share here on RUclips 👍
My old company was the first UK Jet Ski dealer back in 1980! Stand up only model Kawasaki 440. Needed more skill than todays skis as they were unstable at low speeds. Many tricks could be accomplished with lots of practise. I was the first person in the UK to be prosecuted for speeding on a Jet Ski! The authorities actually had trouble finding a law that was applicable. I was actually prosecuted under the title ‘aquaplaning’. Interesting times!
The hull design reminds me of the older Sea- Doo SP model from the late 94 or 95s. You can do very easy turns and spins due to the flatter full design, and it only had like 50 something hp. Ride time was just over 1hr or less depending on conditions. If you live on a lake this is perfect honesty. Low noise, no exhaust vapors, simple and easy design for daily riding. Pull it on your WaveArmor or Jet ski lift, which is already powered, and just plug up. Some might even use there EV Truck to share power to their PWC if they are driving to a lake. I guess Tesla, Ford, and Rivian better get the lead out then, huh. For now, this really works well for residents who live on a lake. I was kind of hoping Adam would have gone over some of the features this PWC had. Can you talk about the Wi-Fi and sota/fota capabilities? Thermal management? Closed-Loop colling or no? Battery chemistry and form factor....ie cylindrical or pouch? Proper battery management is the responsibility of the owner, however if we can't find out what it is, how can you except anyone to buy this product? There is no difference when you buy an ICE Sea-Doo. I had to perform a 10hr break in on my 2018 GTI SE (per owner's manual) to make sure the engine would perform at its peak over its life. World's First ride on this Jetski is nice, however I think this a missed opportunity by Targa to show potential buyers more about this product and how it is better vs what's out there now. GTX vs Carbon. GTI SE vs Performance. Spark vs Sport. Same for Yamaha matching models.
Truth is, so few viewers would care about getting that deep into tech specs, with typ of battery etc, that they would have lost PR (viewers) for this video, by presenting it. Too long video and most people click away. This is the only way to do it. For the ones that really care (which are i miniscule amount of total target market), they will find the info themselves in due time. This isnt really unique to this vehicle, nor electrical vehicles. You wont get much details on a presentation/first try on a ICE cars either, for example. Another thing is that the 10 hour break in on your GTI, isnt necessarily to make the engine perform at the peak over its life, but for other reasons. Not everything that is written in user manuals, can be taken at face value, some of it is for the benefit of the manufacturer, not the customer. Lastly, the benefits of this product is the zero emissions out the back, and the next to zero engine noise. In just about every other aspect, it loses to an equivalent ICE PWC; not to mention the price. Not many comparisons needed really.
I look forward to continued improvement in this electric space and hopefully they will increase the range and create one for fishing. I don't play on jet skis but am considering one to fish from- especially off shore.
Wow!!! Those things look like a lot of fun! As a Model 3 owner I will most definitely cop one. Towing a electric pwc with an EV to Croatia in summer will be the peak of sustainable fun 😂🙌🏽
Fun fact: you don’t need kill switch on electric PWC, matter fact, it is better not to use kill switch on EPWC at all, in case you fall, you don’t need to reconnect the kill switch and restart the PWC, it’s much easier to just get back up and go
@@AdamSwords in my opinion there is a very very slight chance of throttle failure but the benefits of not using kill switch on EPWC overweight the risk of throttle failure, especially in big swells

Hi Adam I was at the Sydney international boat show today and got to look at the very first one the serial number is 00001 lol definitely going to be a great toy on a yacht 🤙🤙
Looks like a lot of fun. Rangewise, can you do your Catalina run? The footwells seems poorly designed as they seemingly had no drain? Collecting water adds weight which reduces speed and range.
No PWC have drains for the footwell :) but the sloping back on the orca definitely means they fill up fast when it’s choppy. Luckily a quick blast of the throttle and they clear out. Range wise, they MIGHT make it to Catalina one way, but I’d be nervous…
@@AdamSwords I am curious if a dual battery solar charge on reserve would be an idea? battery tech is progressing and having one charging while the other is in use could allow some gains even as a return to port backup. Just a thought.
