** CODE ONE THING AT A TIME. Attempting to code too many things will damage your ECU
*** Yes there are other paid BMW apps out there. Carly is the app I’ve been using for 3 years and therefore I feel confident recommending it.

Guys be careful with Carly. If you code too many things at one time, it'll fry the module you're modifying. I know by experience. Code one item at a time!! It'll take forever, but don't do them all at one time. You'll be sorry and walking 'cause your car will be fried. Use Carly with caution...lots of caution. It's a good product for amateurs, but don't be confident with it. It's not reliable and if something goes wrong, Carly will blame you, not them. Good video as always Justin. I just wanted to add my experience with this unit. Thanks bro.
He says that you should only code 1 thing at a time. Watch the whole video bro 🤦♂️
When I code do I just code it then go back and swipe up to kinda reset it then go back in?
How did you fix your module?
You really are the true advocate in bmw community! Your channel is really making me enjoy driving my bimmer 😎
agree, it helps because me and him have the exact same model bummer, our 330i are much more rare compared to 328i so it really helps have someone with the exact same problems as me and i know what works for him, will work for me
i drive a 2006 325i..every time i watch your vid im learning..fyi..bought my carly 3 months ago and it was helpful..thanks for this vid..keep it up..
2006 325i gang 😂
❤️*
I’ve had my 2006 325i since 2009, amazing car, has been so good to me. Everything is awesome except mileage is not so great anymore. Could that change over time? (300miles a tank now ish)Otherwise I will ride her til she combusts lol. Saved your video!!!
Mee 2 bro let's leave link trade secret. Did u upgrade to the ,lux Angel eyes
How much was it
I did a full video on the bimmercode app, but never realize how many more features carly has. Great video bro.
Carly pretty expensive for me in Canada but i'll grab for your commission :)
If you have the money and dont want to hustle too much then I suppose Carly is fine. But if you really want access to your car then a K+DCAN Cable and ISTA D, INPA and NCS Expert are way more powerful tools.
I respect your commitment, but that still costs $30 for the Cable and you have to spend many hours/days learning how to code. I’d rather just spend $120 and fix my LED flicker/customize in a few minutes.
@@DillonRust that subscription model is killing user interest, absolutely...buy+own, no leeches or vampires!
@@TSPhotoAtlanta Yeah, I agree if you can code it yourself. I actually ended up not using a subscription service either and just got used to the ignition flicker because it only does it on the initial start-up, and looks cool regardless.
Plus, I have a 2006 which means I was out of luck regardless, considering that BMW didn’t include LED software until 2008 apparently.
Crazy, I was literally in the process of ordering this when the notification for this video came up lol I started over and used your link 😏
I appreciate that! 🙏🏻
Justin Buice of course brotha, your videos have helped me plenty of times. I owe you that much.
Great man, I’ve used Carly since 2018 on my 2010 -E90. Terrific product!!
Ordered my carly sunday and woke up with it on my front porch! This video came out at the perfect time.
Nice!
@Alexfreshkid Its for sure worth it, I opted for the the plan with all cars instead of just bmw and mini its not much more and if you get another car it's still useable without changing your subscription
I love your channel man i get all my diy from you
Glad I can help!
Helpful video especially w.r.t. the code one feature at a time! Would love to see some specific coding before / after. Also if you change your battery, registering / coding it would be a popular add for the BMW community!
Just got mine & wow so easy to use.
Bought Carly because of this video and can’t express how disappointing the whole experience was, even more so the customer service, absolutely shocking. Also, beware if you buy the app license through Carly direct, there are strictly no refunds. If you buy the bundle (scanner+app license) to get discount, they get you to download the app asap and knowing that you have to wait for the scanner to arrive (mine arrived in about a week) before you can test everything out, they know you’re screwed if it doesn’t work because STRICTLY NO REFUNDS! (F31 2012 320d)
Great and useful video! I've got an e92, love it! I've been thinking of getting one these, nice timing! I'll hit your link, as your videos have helped me in the past working on my car. Keep up the great work!
I bought a Carly because of you Justin but I can't seem to do much with it. I can't get rid of my adaptive headlights warning and I can't change my water pump speed and just in general it doesn't do that much
Glad to see you're still well in these times !
We’ve been doing alright! We live in a small town that has only had a handful of cases of the virus. My wife has been able to work from home which has been nice
@@justinbuice Happy to hear that ! Stay safe !
I have a 2008 328i E93. It has odd items disabled. I think Carly might work. GREAT VIDEO
What do you mean odd I have 328 just trying research
@@nmorris539 I have my right xenon headlight out with "dipped" code, bluetooth active but "off", satellite not working.
For anyone who is scared of doing this like me, don't be! Just follow the instructions and stick to standard options.
MY TIPS:
1. Leave engine on when coding, then restart car once told so to re-write module.
2. Code things one at a time. DON'T make 2 changes before writing.
3. Go airplane mode w/ bluetooth connection.
4. You can share with friends! Only need to buy one account and dongle. Works on multiple cars, meaning you can split the cost with someone like I did.
JB-The best Carly for BMW video I have seen thank. I realize it’s 2 years ago, but I have a question that Carly cannot figure out. On my Carly dashboard it shows km for my e92 M3 instead of miles. I’ve changed the units to “imperial” in setting and re-scanned the car, did live data, scanned the OBD L, and did a used car check. It’s still in km. Been back/forth with Carly support for weeks. Nothing works. Any idea on how to change km to miles on the Carly dashboard. Other than this headache, I have been happy with it-especially coding.
Awesome video 👍
I love this device! I bought mine almost 4 years ago and I was grand fathered in to the one time large payment and it has paid for itself over so many times. Even at $65 a year its worth every penny.
I’m really thinking about getting Carly, I just want to be 100% sure it’s safe for my car & if it’s actually going to help me.
Weird!! I just spend an hour yesterday convincing my wife I needed one of these for my 08 535i.
I’m talking to my wife right now about it, comparing the subscription to spotify 😂
@@ITIdude1 I blackmailed mine with the monthly storage fee for iCloud since she cannot delete photos 😂
😂 so funny I’ve had the “talk” with mines yesterday
justin, I bought my carly adapter in 2017 for my e92 and my wifes e60 and it's great. I'm really happy that you went from being a carly user like me to someone who actually got to work with them 👍 back then I paid my one of fee for the software and thankfully when they moved to a paid subscription that one of fee allowed me a lifetime of carly use. one big thing for my e60 was powefold mirrors, when the car locked them mirrors wouldnt, you would have to hit the button inside, even the dealer couldn't help, I code this with carly so that when you hold down the lock button the mirrors fold in, super usefull for car parks. also my wifes e60 is a diesel car and the ability to force a diesel particle filter regeneration through carly saved the dpf on out car! very expensive to replace and I didn't want it gutted. just for this feature alone I would pay an annual subscription, it's much less than a visit to the garage. then you've have handy health checks and the coding is so much fun 😁 anyway keep up the great content brother 👍
Eyyyy he actually made the Carly video
I actually might get a Carly, sounds better than a OBDII!
Thanks man. Thank you !
Keep up the content man! Love it!
Carly is 79 $ plus 10 dollars tax .. 89.00 plus the membership guys !! , for 65 dollars for bmw or all cars for 82 $ but it works 😌
Fan of your channel....but I'm a
MHD player though 🤷🏻♂️
can you do all of this with mhd?
Keep up the awesome work bro just got my e90 after watching your channel for years. My Carly just arrived using the link you the goat 🐐
Can you turn the halo LEDs into daytime running lights with this?
can i use it on multiple cars?
I jus bought a 2007 BMW 328i series 3. The little orange light is staying on even after car is turned off n key is out, what does this mean? Do u know by chanc???
That’s normal
Justin,08 BMW 328i every light works except my right low beam/ hi beam due to frayed internal wires. I replaced the entire assembly but the power to the relay is disabled for safety. Will Carly enable me to reset the relay. Please reply
Do you think is better than ISTA/P or is just for basic diagnostics?
Kinda hard to beat ISTA/P or INPA for more in depth diagnosis and/or coding but programs like Carly and Bimmercode are great for quick diagnosis and coding for sure. Much easier imo so worth having both in the long run
CEO of Carly!
lol
I just order the adapter 4 days ago🥺
i just subscribed and will be purchasing the plug and software ..awesome ..
Hi can this Carly tune ,tell my car to turn on my fan motor at a lower temperature ?? I just did the oil temperature thermostat upgrade on my car & now I need 2 tell my cars brain 2 turn on fan at lower temps
Hopefully you able to see this question, or someone else could answer aswell
Wouldn't using it as cooling gauges parameters mess with the computer in any way? like, is it safe to use leave the obd on and just take if off when the car is turn off. Hopefully it wont confuse the ecu in anyway or throw some random code
What do u think about BMW protool by bimmergeeks
I haven't had a chance to try it yet
I was considering Protool. Have any info on it?
It won’t work unless you have an M3 E90, just so you know. Carly is unfortunately the only option for regular E90s like my 2006 325i
@@DillonRust i have protool, its works on all e90, 08 328xi . I love it
Is your light switch in auto or parking to activate angel eyes on daytime?
What kind of headlights are those?
So Justin, you so you can turn the disclaimer off, but we will play a video while driving?
How do you code a new LCI headlight assembly to have the DRL (halos) on? I installed a new passenger headlight assembly with one new DRL and adaptive module. The rest of the modules are original.
Sounds great! I am all new to beemers and have gotten myself a 2017 F30. I have a question: if I am to perform oil and filters or brake pads changes, can I write it in the car's service journal like the dealers have been doing? Thanks!
Can this device icarly Register a battery ???
Forgot to ask do you need to turn the switch to turn on the DRL or you can leave it on auto mode?
I'm in Houston Just bought my kid A BMW and the radio is stuck on German and Dutch What can I do is there a way you can help I think the car needs an update There are no other language options please help send me in right direction 🙏
What about adaptive headlight
Thank you
Good information
nice job
If I use this would I still need a canbus system for my led lights or would this work without if I code the lights?
Do I have to purchase the app separately or does it come with the scan tool?
How much does a Curly coat. Where do by them
Thanks for your video, really insightful. However would you recommend anything similar to Carly for Australia? Or would the same Carly model work here?
Love your bmw e90 🔥
Also just buy for my self e90 💪😎
nice!
my frm module makes my lights not work. can it fit this problem>\
Hello Justin have you seen this error , saying failed coding . I’m having problems coding the comfort access features . I think I may be having intermittent issues with my key access but I somehow cannot code the CAS portion . Any help would be appreciated, thanks again. Keep up the great work bro
Can you code out adaptive headlights with carly?
answer the questio n s justine or else no more sub from me
So cool man.
do you know how to use the expert mode ?!
i have it activated in my app but for the life of me cannot find the "expert" codes :((
are there any alternatives to Carly?
big fi shoutout today
Just watched it. That’s so cool!
Don’t get me wrong, it’s good what you can do with the Carly scanner & the app but they’re still too expensive for what they are...£100 here in the uk just for the scannner...not worth it imo.
I use BimmerCode
You guys know anything about the BimmerTech CarPlay retrofit thing? Looking into it for my 2013 BMW but not sure :)
Hey I don't know much about it, but my friend has done a couple videos on it ruclips.net/video/fM3oN5qGw5E/видео.html
@@justinbuice Thanks man!! Appreciate it
Hey Justin, I just fixed one of my headlights because I had the "lazy eye" and I saw the little spot where you change the bulb for the angel eyes. Your rings are so white and I envy them! Do you have the LUX model? I'm really interested in them after seeing how easy it is once you have the headlight in hand. I have a 328xi 2009 LCI with xenons. Thank you for your help and I really enjoy watching your videos.
Does it need carly own ODB adapter?
Hey Justin what if your e90 doesn’t start will it be able to tell me if the ibs or alt or battery are bad ? obviously it won’t start has aftermarket battery assuming it could be coding issues -please help if you can….
I haven’t got Carly yet -tryin to im the next two weeks
Hey, I have not used Carly to test batteries, but the easiest and cheapest way to test is to use a multimeter. A battery coding issue can affect the battery's longevity, but shouldn't prevent the car from starting. You could also take the battery out and have it tested at your local auto part store. I've done this in the past.
60 dollars a year for full worth of Bmw coding plus the plug? pass.... I might as well go to the dealership
that subscription model is killing user interest, absolutely...buy+own, no leeches or vampires! It's money down then RENT the app, then the adpter is trash unless you fork over the cheese, again + again,. Taking it raw, no lube
Critical! Can you use Carly to Register a replacement module in the car? as all modules are vin locked
I just got my first car and its a 2006 BMW 330xi any suggestions on maintenance?
I've got a suggestion, don't drive it aggressive like I'm sure you have. You can't afford the maintenance....
Where can you track your package?
I noticed both time you turned on your bimmer you moved the gearshift. Is there a reason why?
He's probably just checking that it's in neutral
Yup just a habit to make sure it’s not in gear
Justin Buice okay, I understand.
Can this adapter program the abs/dtc module ? I have a replacement and the p/n doesnt match
Is this going to work as good as a snap on obd ? I can clear tech codes like the auto body shop or is it just like a regular OBD?
it is possible code comming home on e90 2006/12 ? thanx
Great Video - I'm between Carly and Bimmercode. Lots of bashers of Carly, but since I have an 07, probably the examples that you showed will be applicable to my vehicle. Any thoughts on the 2, one over the other on 06/07 E90? Thanks.
Hope you went for Bimmercode! I went Carly and it was extremely disappointing and frustrating…and borderline useless
Does the Carly Adapter allow to code the M logo onto the idrive boot screen?
i just bought e92 335i and i dont know what to buy carly or mhd or bimmercode or what
i was going to have my mechanic purchase and install a battery but now i'm thinking the price of carly and a 1 yr sub will be the same price as the labor and i will have carly.
Will this app unscrew limp mode on. 2006 Z4 3.0i sport/auto? I had some road debris find the opening to the transmission pan and pretty much cracked it in half.
I’ve replaced the pan and got fluid in it but it’s just not cooperating.
Love your DYI channel what can you tell me about footwell module ? I was told a dealership has to replace it
Can I coding (add) aux in my BMW E60? If yes, how?
Great video! Could this erase airbag error? My airbag is deployed and I want to erase the error via coding
Unless you have a way around the computer knowing the airbag is no longer viable, no. However, if you replace the airbag, or get an airbag light in error (I’ve had airbag light come in due to an electrical issue, but the airbag has never blown), then yes, it will reset. Technically, you could turn off the warning light on yours, but it will continue to come back on unless you replace the bag, and any affected impact sensors. Carly’s good, but it’s not going to tell your car it has an airbag when it doesn’t. Lol. Still though - get the Carly if you can. 100% recommend it after using it to diagnose some issues and code out my 2007 e83 X3, and that’s not NEARLY as customizable as the e90.
maybe you can help me i changed the cluster in my 2011 328 bmw with 126k miles the new cluster had 160k now when i put old cluster back in car it still says 160 k miles
Will this brick the ecu? I've seen reviews on it where people said it messed up their ecu.
Just code one thing at a time and give it a break in between coding. Keep in mind that the ECU's in these cars are up to 15 years old at this point. In my experience, coding one item at a time and giving it a few minutes between each coding, I haven't had an issue, but anytime you are writing to the ECU, especially on a 10+ year old car, there is some degree of risk.
@@justinbuice Thanks for responding, this gives me piece of mind and makes perfect sense.
BUYER BEWARE: If you are considering using Carly, DON'T. If you know
that is what you want and you are sure it will work with your vehicle,
then buy it. When you do buy access to the software and it does not
work, Carly WILL NOT refund regardless of how long you had the license,
be it hours or days. Also be warned the license auto renews whether
you want it or not.
what do u mean auto renew? we have to pay every year or something?
@@dolo_kaayyyeah unless you cancel auto payments thru customer support

Look on amazon for something called Mpow, it’s a little circle and you plug it in under your arm rest into the usb and aux, and then you can put it under your radio/ next to your change thing, and hide the wire under the center console
