Can we please get more 'anatomy of' videos? These are easily some of the most valuable woodworking videos on all of RUclips. We can find all the info we need on techniques but nothing on traditional construction strategies. Thank you for all that you give us. Cheers.
I like the mellow tone, exceptional camera work, and craftsmanship. Thanks for making this video. It seems like the weight of the cupboard, and whatever is stored within it, is fully supported by the glue between the case and the top. Is this a concern? Should one limit a cupboard with this anatomy to light duty storage? Do different glues have different strengths over time? Would a different anatomy better distribute weight without sacrificing the shaker authenticity?
Excellent piece of furniture! I really like your videos. It really looks simple to make just with your teachings. I'm a beginner in traditional woodwork and you are a really good teacher. All of you guys in the channel. One question: The inner dovetails of the cupboard are not glued? Just the faceframe is glued?
Thanks for this informative video. One question: what is the practical size limit for the width of the glued top and bottom pieces (assuming the grain runs parallel to the front and back edges of the cabinet)? If they were too large seasonal expansion would cause them to split.

Hey Tom, that means a lot. Thanks!
Always enjoy seeing you do some woodwork yourself too! Would love to learn more about how you measure and space the hinges so the barrel clears
I enjoyed the format of this video. I like the "anatomy" style over the typical build video that is all over youtube. You should do more of them. :)
nicely done

Hello Mark, I mentioned in the accompanying blog post that you can put nails in the back (which I've done) to strengthen the case.
Thanks for the reply and the tip!@@WoodAndShop
Inspiring! I wonder if I will ever reach that level?
Classy, Love that door, One could do less or more work to their liking. Also like the top retaining the back.
Thank you!
Thanks Joshua. Very thorough video detail of your Shaker cabinet. I would be interested in the plans for purchase.
Cheers.

If I wanted to make my own Danish oil would a 50:50 mix of Tung Oil:Mineral Spirits be acceptable?
Great job. Please use paper towel and bare hand when finishing on the lathe. I want to see you keep your digits. Nice cupboard!
You dont glue the dovetails?
Very nice. I would love the plans for this, will you have them for sale at any time? Many thanks
Thanks! No plans yet, but I'll let you know when we do.
@@WoodAndShop Ok great
Niceeee. Tell me please how to make groove for that panel by hand. Without router or fancy hand planes. How to make it easy and fast.
You would use a plow plane
