The option+D, nor the D key work on my mid 2010 Mac. I don’t know why.
😩I don’t want to go to the Apple store, they charge $99 to run the Diagnostic.

Pre 2010 macs WILL NOT work with option D nor the D key..FYI..only with the supplied Disc at the purchase. I don’t have the Disc that came with OS X leopard so I’m out in the dark on this one.

i try both option , only D key and Option+D ,it start internet recovery but no AHT , i havemacbook pro 2012 i5 13inch yosemite , it start some test few sec short but nothing like is on your screen , any other method to start AHT ?

Mine is a mid 2012 the spinning globe shows up with "starting internet recovery this may take a while" but then nothing happens it keeps spinning for every I can hear the hard drive spin and the fans after a while

HELP MY WIFI ISNT WORKING AFTER A SHOP CHANGED MY MOTHERBAORD. They givenme a usb dongle but the range is crap because its so small i just want it how it was. So.
How can i run a diagnostic mode if it requires the internet connection i do not have? Would it be ok to use ethernet or would that fool it into thinking the internet it working fine?

Hi, my MacBook Pro is an Mid2010 model. If I try to run the AHT like you described it in the video I get the Message Error 3403D. If you could help me some how it would be really great! I upgraded the hard drive, now its an SAMSUNG SSD 500GB and the RAM from Crucial 8GB because the system was crashing spontaneously. It still crashes but not so often like before the upgrade. I also tried EtreCheck and the report says Kernel Panic.
I really don't know what to do, my last idea is to change the cooling paste because without Macs Fan Control the cpu temperature would be around 80°C while running simple tasks like the Safari Browser.
Excuse me for this long report :D but I'm a bit frustrated :/
