You saved me. A neighbor told me about my brake lights being on after 9pm. I scrambled to look this problem up and found your and other videos on the issue but yours was the most helpful. Finding your video quickly allowed me to make it to the auto parts store with mere minutes to spare before they closed, it was absolutely serendipitous. Thank you. This fixed my 2001 Honda Accord. Did not need to remove any of the dash - a very easy repair. It took me a while to realize my lights were not going off. Replaced my old battery and the new battery soon died.
Hey thanks for watching happy to hear it was an easy fix. Yea the only reason I knew my lights were staying on is because a neighbor told me so that helped with not having to replace the battery. Anyway happy you got it and I hope you’ll sub to the channel.

Thanks for the info. The brake lights on my 1999 Accord Coupe won't turn off. It just started today. Then when you showed the plastic bumper I realized that I saw a broken black bumper piece on my carpet under the steering wheel. I didn't know what it was. Thought it was just a piece of trash that got stuck under my shoe while walking on dirt.
Going to fix it now.
Thanks !

@@ucanfixit1 Yes I subscribed! For years I have needed to get the piece off, that is above the brake pedal, to access the air mix control motor. I could not figure it out and was afraid I might break something. Your video showed me how to do it, so I was thrilled. I was able to replace the brake pedal stop pad and oil the gears on the motor. Win Win Thanks again!

I thought of donating my 98 Honda Civic when I saw the brake lights constantly ON causing battery to die not knowing where the problem is. I saw this video and repaired it with Honda part 46505-SA5-000. Now it is working fine. Thank you bunch for saving money as mechanics would charge minimum $100 to touch a car for diagnostics.

Thanks for the clear instructions. Replaced the bumper with a M6 bolt from harbor freight. Why they make they bumper out of plastic! And seemingly redundant since the distance of the switch is adjustable.

I wish i could hug you! I finally leave work, & during my drive home, something keeps rolling under the heel of my foot. Get to a light & am finally able to reach down there real quick & grab this odd looking, small thing with a little spike end...put it in my door, because i have an '07 Honda...this isn't the 1st time I've found what ends up being a piece to a car part under my feet. 🤦🏻♀️ Last time though, it was for my clutch & I had to have the car towed & wait a week or so before it was fixed. Not again! I started searching online & found your video! 2am & I'm armed with a flashlight, towel, Phillips, flathead & your video. Sure enough, that's exactly what it was! I was able to put the broken piece in, so my lights would finally turn off & I'm having my son swing by our local auto parts store to grab that on the way home today. Thanks to your video, I'll have it fixed in less than 24 hours! Bless you!!
