This game was never meant for console, so I don't care about those issues. The PC issues is what I care about. Mods will improve things as usually. Also ominipods is battle tech lore for clan mechs and not a game streamline decision.
As an ex MWO player: absolutely, at no point, did I think pirahna could create anything of substance. MW5 is a 10 year old game released 10 years later with zero work done on it. Clans is no different.
I liked Mercenaries, despite a lot of its problems. I really enjoyed travelling to different worlds and building mechs from scraps. I thought Clans would improve what made that game great and fix its problems, but they changed things that they should have kept the same, and kept the bad mission design and AI.

i didn't play the PC Port but i heard its rough as well. The omnipods are part of lore, but it also streamlines the gameplay.
