@@BrittPearceWatches Worse, I meant he crashed om his motorbike on a telephone pole. He rode a bike that was way more powerful than his skill level so he lost control as that bike was known to have so much power in a light frame. Any accident you can survive from and recover is lucky one. My brother had a worse accident crashing on the side of the van and breaking all his ribs. Both he and my dad like riding motorbikes that are too strong for them to handle. But both of them are too stubborn to die.

I love the longer lugs on this piece. I’ve found that one of the differences between vintage and contemporary pieces is not necessarily the lug to lug measurement, but the ratio between the lugs and case. In my opinion, a slightly smaller case but longer lugs is more visually elegant than the opposite.

Hey Britt, many congrats on your purchase - you deserve a treat and it looks great on you (and on those with slimmer wrists). I already have two BB58s and despite the T-Fit clasp, I could never justify getting one myself. Like you I also struggle with the missing hash marks on the bezel and that new crown looks way too small for my stubby fingers. Having said all this, it will be a huge seller.

Great take & speed recovery. Tudor is doing a fantastic job and the Black Bay 54 is definitely the best release this year in the watch world. Seems like the full expression of a "do-it-all" watch, even more than an Explorer. The size is adequate for everyone and the dressier aesthetics is historically respectful without being an historical piece. I absolutely hope that this starts a trend among all other brands.

I frankly find the bezel insert far more aesthetically appealing without the graduated markers you prefer; it's true to the vintage look, as well. It's why I bought the MKII Kingston, which resembles this 54 so closely, though the Kingston is a 39mm, so a big larger. Love the 37mm perhaps even better, though.

The biggest thing I noticed, was the bezel on the 54, edge is more "slippery" vs the 58. harder to grip now and was put off when I saw it in person. If you compare on your end, you will see what I mean. The crown too, much harder to grip vs the 58 (due to the finish on the material vs the BB58).

I would like to see a BB54 vs. 58 comparison video. Please included measurements and even how long the clasp is between them. My AD rep isn't sure how well the BB54 will sell. He feels it's a bit small, at least for our market. They've still not gotten any of the new Tudors in yet, but supposedly will be getting 3 of them soon (no details on which). Your face is looking much better, and you seem to me to be struggling less with speaking, so that's good! I hope you continue on the path to full recovery.

Agree the new bracelet is an improvement, but I feel 39mm is a perfect size for a sports / dive watch. I also love the gilt bezel numerals, red iconic triangle (Rolex Big Crown), and the snowflake seconds counter weight of the BB58. All that is gone on the BB54 making it rather dull in comparison to the 58.

Nice review ! Having purchased a BB54, I agree with all your points. I had a slightly worse impulse buying experience than you (!) - I saw the watch online , called an AD who had it in stock in another city, paid for it and had them ship it to me ! The small crown is really no problem if you wear the watch everyday. I have not noticed the faux-rivets at all. I’m a thin guy and fits great. Kind of watch that I thought would never be made - a small dive watch !
Wish you quick and healthy recovery !💐

I bought a Black Bay 58 last year. Please do not do a comparison video. Also don't talk about the 54 ever again. ...With its slimmed down proportions, and its refined second hand sans snowflake. I'm not interested in the way it slips under the cuff just right. Or the cleaner bezel. And I certainly don't care for the sleeker crown which hugs the slimmer case, or that we spoke and Tudor listened. Not interested. Nope. (insert annoyed girlfriend meme where my girlfriend is the 58 and the passing hot random is a 54).

I have the blue 58 (6.7 inch wrist) and I tried the 54 today. I’m definitely switching to the 54 once they release it in blue. I agree with her assessment of the watch.

My thought is...54 maybe perfect for your wrist size but for most men, the BB58 is the sweetspot. Also some may even prefer the BB58 aesthetically to the BB54 independent of size.
Thanks for your video and congrats on the new 54.
PS. as a sporty male with average wrist size, all said, I prefer the Pelagos 39 Ti as I believe the vintage thing is overplayed even though I am a lot older than you but probably don't act it.

Hey Britt, you look 200% better. I hope you feel better as well. This Tudor looks fabulous on you wrist. I guess it will be the ultimate ladies divers watch in existence. Gentlemen with smallish wrists are going to have a proportionally better looking watch than the BB58 as well. It will look too small though on my 7.5 inch wrist, so I’ll keep my 58 after all.

Interesting that it seems to have the same lug width as the BB58.
I did think it was too wide for the BB54 at first, but like the 21mm lug width on the Pelagos 39, the bigger lug width to case size ratio works very well, and I look forward to seeing one in the flesh.

This is such a tempting watch. I wish Tudor would stop putting unnecessary text on their dials, a popular complaint, but at least it’s not as noticeable as white on black. Thanks for the video!

This size opens that watch genre to a much bigger customer base. I can see the size being used to for more vibrant colours in the future . Hope you're not in too much pain , missing my little Canadian watch geek . Stay strong . 😊

Continued prayers for your ongoing recovery. The 54 looks good on you. I sometimes buy a watch on impulse, but given that I cap my watch purchases at about $350 per piece, buying a new piece on impulse doesn't crash my budget and is entirely supportable.

Get that compy spent. Love the watch, congrats and enjoy. It’d be good to see it on a variety of straps given the length and width of the lugs.
    Once again, congratulations.

I’m with you 1000000%!!!! This is the video I needed. I have the BB58 blue as well, and impulse bought the BB54 on Thursday. I literally haven’t removed the stickers as I’ve been trying to justify it holding the two side by side… also have a 6” wrist. AHHHH literally. Thank you for this video!

I laughed out loud when you said "you can really feel the 2mm size difference"! I worked in an AD for a year and this is the kind of comment that would make my non-watch friends look at me like I was speaking in tongues 🤣
