Thank you, Im a puff main and I love it, its so satysfying to land rests, you helped me with the tips like move to the left while drilling or doble jumping after 50%
Personally, I love pound into rest. I don't think it's a true kill confirm, you can DI out, but I land it all the time. People don't expect it. It is true at low percents where the opponent can't DI. So it's great to get an easy 60 plus damage on characters that won't be able to answer back with a combo that does as much, especially useful on Lylat where plats obstruct the opponent. It's super easy to land once you practice.
it’s always a hit or miss, don’t hit rests when trying to get kills, use short-hop backair as a spacing option, nair offstage is a really good mixup, fast, strong, and if you don’t hit with the initial hitbox, the long lasting sour spot will gimp characters. puff is a love hate relationship and will make you hate every character in the game
John Carlos Palonson bad advice, it’s very useful true but very unsafe if you miss it, it has tones of end lag and you don’t want to be caught missing it recovering high
Aerial forward with the weak part you can also confirm a rest if you predict where it is going to move but personally I like the aerial upwards, jump and rest.
Hey, just as a caution: There are two hitboxes of dair. The upper one on the body which sends down and slightly forward and the lower one on the feet which sends back and slightly up. The lower does not have fixed knockback and does not true combo into rest until 30-44% depending on character and rage. It also has priority so you will be hitting it a lot. The upper hitbox does have fixed knockback and gives anywhere from 1 to 5 frames of advantage max. Bowser and K. Rool are the two that only give 1 frame of advantage, so if this hitbox hits it will not combo into rest (which is a frame 2 move). Note that if hitting with the upper hitbox (if you are fastfalling and dragging them down is when this will likely occur) you should drift forward, and if you and opponent are already lower to the ground you will hit with the lower and should drift backwards
Jigglypuff's Down Special is a move labeled Rest. The move is basically a guarunteed "9" from Game and Watch, but it's a very precise move. You have to be almost directly on top if your opponent for it to hit, which makes it really hard to do. Once the move is performed, Jigglypuff sleeps for either 3 seconds, or until it gets hit. That's what these confirms are for, to make the move LEAGUES more consistent.
In my opinion, it is somehow harder to hit a rest in ultimate than in smash 4. I don't know if it's just me or if any one else thinks the same about it
d air into rest you have to be pretty close to the ground and cant finish the move because hitting with the full d air will always throw them to the side bad wording sorry i mean you need to hit the middle portion of the d air and you should be able to hit the redt
Thanks, now I'm a menace to my friends now

Glad you were able to get some use out of it! Enjoy hitting those rests
Any advice on playing puff?
@@soupknife4677 what kind of stuff do you want to know ? I don't really keep playing the game but my Puff is still pretty solid I think
Pound -> soft fair -> rest is also a reliable confirm

started playing jigglypuff, this is really awesome, still hard to hit but man it feels good when you do
If u can read it at lower-mid percents higher up, you can up air to rest and its true or easily read depending on the character.
Came here to instantly be pleased w that Free Market music 😳😳
did
you just say
*YIGGLY PUFF?*
That's what I call her lol
So Damn Nostalgic with the MapleStory Market music
I don't know why I came back to this video but i still love the fucking MapleStory song whenever it sounds
So thats why there are so many puff bois now
I still haven't seen any Puff players in about 2 months.
Omg I just landed the down air rest first try ty
only good tutorial.I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR THEM EVER SINCE I FOUND YOUR BUT I ALWAYS COME BACK TO YOUR CUZ ITS THE BEST ONE (I know of for 1 year)

Trying to become a puff main and this helps a ton. Thanks :)
But Dair-rest WAS possible before the buff, just extremely inconsistent
it still is extreamly inconsistent but better lol
My favorite rest confirm is down throw jumping rest, it's just too good

weak fair to rest. I see Hbox land this pretty often.
Omg the music from MapleStory aaaaasss
Was there ever a lore-based explanation behind how Rest actually works?
short hop fair -> rest seems to work aswell
What song did you use for this vid? It sounds so familiar and nostalgic but I can’t seem to remember where it’s from!
thanks for the help bro now I can finally hit it
Good stuff
I'm determined to git gud with puff
(Playing melee and ultimate back to back is not recommended)
Very helpful. Thank you.
I need to practice up air to rest have not hit it once sadly
Bruh down air rest is not true at all at 150
It's "true" like 10% of the time.
Only watching this because trying to figure out what goes wrong when I’m whooping a Jiggly then they just rest 3 times and win
Note to self, stay away from jumping jigglies..
my sacrifice lol:
spike them with sleep lol
How does her rest work? I never could figure out how

@@cubsterplayz4289 So you just jump on them and sleep?
@@EnderalRocks Yup, that's the basis.

This reply is way late but hitting raw rests are hard because of the fact that unlike in smash 4, in this game moving into an opponent pushes them
@@CrockHoax oh yeah now that you mention it, true
whats an ff uo air meant to mean any way??
Nice 👌👌👌👌
Did you know if u hold shield with jigglypuff, she dies
wow cool
What about Up tilt to rest?
Really great video, but
Fighting n properly depleting enemy hp too boring?
Why not 1 tap?
is up throw => jump rest still a confirm? or has it changed 🤔
only a confirm against spacies in melee
There’s pound fair rest, up tilt rest, dair rest, those are the ones you didn’t get, but well done nice vid
Is up tilt rest a confirm tho, if so what percent does it kill
Is there a jiggly puff discord?

bad wording sorry i mean you need to hit the middle portion of the d air and you should be able to hit the redt
there are some rare occasions where you get seriously lucky with the full attack tho

Bro dair rest is true until like low 200s
Down air rest isnt true, its hard to react to. You can sdi out
