The symptoms of my cancer were subtle and not at all what I expected. If I had known about the symptoms, I could have caught my cancer earlier.

Hey Dr. Amy thank you for your informative and instructional videos, I'm actually trying to incorporate some of the stuff from your "eat this during chemo" video. My mom was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in February and was just recently informed that it's stage 3 and we're doing all we can to help her along as she fights this. She just had a heart procedure 3 weeks ago and is now going on her 2nd treatment of chemo. She's also diabetic. So with this being almost overwhelming with trying to help her, we can't give up hope and just want to thank you for your content because it's definitely a good source to come to when in need. Thank you and keep up the great videos!

Mine was peeled off and my entire internal organs were rinsed with heated chemo during surgery (HIPEC surgery - I had mucinous neoplasm that had spread or it's also called appendix cancer). Maybe you want to check with Dr. Sardi at Mery's hospital in Baltimore to see if you can take it out and not to worry about chemo anymore? I only was exhausted once in a while with fever but I just needed to sleep and felt much better after that and noticed my lower abdomen got fluffy. My belly was very flat but a few months before diagnosed, I noticed my picture shows I have a little bigger lower belly when I wore a tight dress. But I was taking care of my Mom who had dementia and working full time with long commute then so I thought it was just too tired. But then I had mild stomach ache for two weeks and lots of noise in my lower belly (gas but no bloating). Nothing OTC taken helped for more than one day. After two weeks, I felt the pressure pain in my lower belly every step, when my heels hit the floor while walking. I wnt to my gyn doctor, took an ultrasound, saw a tumor, which though to be an overian cyst, the size of an orange. I was scheduled for a laporoscopy a week later but during this surgery, my gyn doctor found out that my appendix had ruptured. I was scheduled for the big 10 hours HIPEC surgery about 2 months layer after the biopsy from the laporoscopy came back confirming I haf a rare form of cancer. I had very bad bloating after each lunch during week before the laboroscopy surgery although I was taking prescription pain killer. Bloating after lunch was so bad that I felt like my whole abdoment was about to expl.ode.

@@amyhoang9140 I had the LAMN tumor as well. Mine also ruptured before removal. I ended up having one surgery to remove it which we didn’t know the extent of the fluid and then the HIPEC surgery 3 months later because the first surgeon thought I was at risk for PMP. I was having heartburn symptoms like I always do or have had for 10+ years along with a feeling like something was at the top of my stomach. and just mentioned it to my doctor. She sent me for an ultrasound which revealed fluid on my liver. Took a CT scan to find the LAMN tumor. So after the 2 surgeries, The pathology report stated that there were no tumor cells in the mucin that was cleaned out so the surgeon said I should be good. I just have to get 6 month CT scan follow ups. I’ve had the first clean follow up, so just need to continue that. I had a great surgeon. His name is Nikolas Dallas in the Chicago area.

Thank you for all this valuable information, Dr Amy.
It's true that I had put on 4 kilos before being diagnosed. It doesn't seem like much, except that I've always been very thin, and I didn't really realise it.
I was in total inflammation! Every time I ate, I felt unwell, somewhere between nauseous and disgusted.

My brother had esophageal cancer and had many of these symptoms, but how does difficulty swallowing and heartburn relate to ovarian cancer?

I had a grade 2 E+ breast cancer two years ago. I was on continous HRT and noticed that my breasts were getting bigger and fuller and had started to feel uncomfortable without my bra... Intuitively, I knew there was something wrong, but didn't discuss it with the gynecologist, because I thought it was a side effect of the HRT. How ironic...

Maybe you could help me to help my sister. My littlest sister has been advised to have her breasts and womb removed as a preventative becausemy other sister has Cancer 2 years ago. The sister I'm talking about has 4 daughters and I'm worried they will advise my Nieces to do the same. This is crazy. Thats like saying when we were kids anything that could be a health risk in the future should be removed as a preventative..... Please shed light on this.. Thankyou for your time

Are they BRCA positive? I can't imagine that being recommended if they are not. Your sister is probably being advised to do that because her family is complete. I imagine your nieces would not be advised to do that until their families are complete (ideally as soon as possible) or perhaps they wouldn't be advised to do the same.
Experienced medical professionals need to advise you and your family, no-one else.
