I thought bug type meowth would have such a bad flea infestation the fleas now control the Pokémon leading to the type change.

Personally Ive been making multiple regions and I have a Meowth in every one. I think it’s fun to have a Pokémon that gets a new regional form each generation. I have a ground type Mountain Lion in North West America, a ice type lynx/saber tooth tiger in Alaska, and a rock type obsidian Neamean lion in Greece, a electric type cheetah in Africa, and a psychic mummy cat sphinx in Egypt
Meowth's Variants are the Pikachu clones of regional variants maybe?
@@edwarddanza5468 ya I think so. Meowth and Pikachu have a rivalry in the Pokédex, and there’s so many species of cat around the world I think it makes sense

I went with the mummy cat and made a different cheetah Pokémon
i think putting a scorpion tail in the bug meowth was a great idea, as it reminds me of a manticore, which is a lion with a human face and a scorpion tail
I've never seen a Manticore with a human face in my life.
@@Gryphonzwing Yep - Manticores, from Greek mythology, have human faces, bodies of lions, and tails of scorpions. Relatively similar to a Chimera (also Greek), which is a lion, snake, and a goat. They're both quite interesting beasts.

I would have leaned in more towards the horrific side of the Fae's nature for a fairy type.
Hell, the Yule Cat would have fit the bill just fine for a basis of that.

Dude this was super neat, cool to see so many artists and art styles being included. Maybe another one including other regional form trends could be cool, like Yamask or Aipom? I've personally seen some amazing forms for both of them :)

i have to admit...
part of the thing about designing meowth is that you have to make the forehead bling represent local currency
you have original with Ryu coins, and persian with a precious gem
you then have the coin once again for alola, and a persian with a colored bead
and then galar with the iron coin, a currency used in that location
part of the important stuff with designing regional meowths should be a focus on the forehead bling
and when possible use it to reflect the history of universal currency of a region before pokebucks (or whatever)
like the grass one, it could have been rice grain, or cocoa beans since in the past, there where parts of the world where that was what mattered most as money!
however i will praise the dragon and bug one
only due to knowing the struggle of trying to make those typings look good on a meowth

I’m in love with the water types. Grass type looks sleek ! Electric type is super cute ! The fairy type is absolutely precious. All types were stellar though !

I made a Snow Leopard Meowth for my region, the Helkos Region.
Helkosian Meowth, the Scratch Cat Pokemon. An Ice Type. Meowth have adapted to the harsh climate of Helkos, giving it thicker fur. These Meowth burrow in the snow to hide from its predators.
Abilities: Pickup, Technician & Snow Cloak.
At Level 38, Helkosian Meowth will evolve into...
Perrslush (Persian + Slush), the Slush Leopard Pokemon. An Ice type. Perrslush are very agile, being able to slip through thick snow as if they were made of slush. When their fur sheds, it resembles that of snow.
Abilities: Slush Rush, Technician, & a new ability called Ice Force. When in hail, their Ice type moves are buffed by 1.3x.
If you give Perrslush the Icicle Claw and level it up in a snowstorm, it'll evolve into...
Perrmafrost (Perrserker + Permafrost), the Avalanche Pokemon. An Ice type. They're breath can is so cold, they can freeze a medium sized lake all the way. Their bodies can camouflage into the snow.
Abilities: Fur Coat, Snow Cloak, & Ice Force.

So far Meowth has had forms of Dark, Steel, and Normal. Its a big stretch, but I think next gen we'll get a Fairy type regional Meowth, since the regional forms are of the types introduced later in the series.
I would actually think ice or rock next, since all types so far have been weak to fighting.
I really like this because of the more simple design. In art, it is very easy to put too much detail.
Man, I was hoping to see subjectively's fighting type made region meowth, still nice too see people's creativity
love these designs! My regional meowth is based on sphynx cats and a literal sphinx, being rock type and residing in the harsh central-western sand dunes of the Endra region (my region isn't actually based on anywhere but is a hodgepodge of various desert/tropics dwelling cultures

I want to make a region based on south America, and I love the grass type Meowth. If it was included in my region, it would probably be sacred because it's a jaguar, which is one of the legendaries of the regions.
Use the fire type, I’m from South America( Brasil 🇧🇷) and the fire one remember the legend of Curupira, a forest protector with hair resembling fire that protects the forests.

Psychic Meowth stole my heart the moment I saw it in Xenoverse. I already had an Elekid X named Kronk, and the look of this Meowth matched Yzma perfectly😂I’ve now set a rule for myself: I’m not allowed to have one on my team without the other.

First I was like "what does a meowth have common with types" but luckily it came apparent soon enough
I'm working on my own region called the Hexious region, though I'm not on any other social media platforms. this is a ghost type meowth with poor care, it keep one eye closed and it missing an ear and an arm... they're luckily much less common as they form from abused meowths never being able to go to their final resting place. they may have met their demise, but not yet their end...

Number one: they aren't to on the side if the type that they are, kinda like how slogan meowth doesn't look TOO dark like, just like how fan art of things like grass pikach or grass charmander, which in those fan sets look a little over board with typing, instead of keeping it like how the game would
Meowth himself is normal so this could definitely work, I think these type variant are better because its not taking up any space like how pikachu takes up the electric space, which is special compared to normal, so it gives you room to be more creative

A bug type cat Pokémon makes some much sense using scarabs, scorpions or other desert dwelling bugs. Love it.
My fan region's meowth is inspired by the beta baby meowth and is psychic type. the coins floating around it. It's just, a cute lazy baby that doesn't want to do things. It's kinda spoiled so it developed psychic powers to both bring things it wants to it. It's evolution, Purrnesis, can manipulate humans...but it mostly just controls them to make them take it into their home as a spoiled pet. It also permanently levitates.
These meowths are all awesome, but I think my favourite would be the fire meowth, cos I love the idea of flaming dart whiskers
In my German-Based region, although not completed, I wanted a Meowth form based one the German Rex. It’d be a cool dragon type with the name being ‘rex’ and all, as well as opening many options for new evolutions

I made a Ghost-Type Meowth for a fan region some time ago (don't go looking, it's not posted anywhere). Basically there's normal Meowth and the ghost ones, they still interact a lot because the Ghost-Type ones are good at guarding treasure, and they kinda get employed by the normal Meowth. Not like they mind, they like what they do.

My favourite is the psychic one, looks cool, it's lore makes sense and it's based on real cat species!
The poison meowth having a toxic bit concept is very interesting because domestic cats can actually have a very bad bite. Cat bites are far more likely to cause deadly infection over domestic dogs. This is because their mouthed carry a lot of germs/bacteria. These bites are so dangerous that people that work in shelters or rescuing cats haft to be extremely careful because one bite can lead so such a rapid and dangerous infection that you can loose fingers. I once heard of someone rescuing a cat that almost lost her hand despite running to the hospital immediately after, and another person who’s bite caused such rapid infection that they had to do a procedure where they peel the skin away from the hand and have to wash the infection off the BONE to save the hand. Cats do full hard bites as a last resort when being threatened so it’s usually hard to get bit unless you’re heavily provoking them. Though it’s mostly stray and feral cats that you haft to worry about you can still get an infection from an indoor cat bite, it’s just more rare.
Imagine if they all talk like Team Rocket's Meowth each type having a different accent.
