  • Hi Friends! Please excuse my messy desk! I've been searching for a fix for the reduced volume in the Left Ear of my Galaxy Buds Plus and wanted to share this solution with you all AS SOON as I discovered it. I hope you can understand. I know you're probably skeptical as you've tried everything - That's what brought you here after all, but you may just be shocked if you give this video a go.
    Tools you will need:
    1. A needle/ Pick/ or some other sharp thin pointy tool
    2. Isopropyl Alcohol to clean your bud up
    3. A Q-Tip
The ONLY thing I ask is that ONCE your Galaxy Buds are FIXED from watching this video (I can almost GUARANTEE they will be) could you like the video so that others feeling that same sense of hopelessness can also find this answer.
    Light and love from Dallas!

At first, I was extremely skeptical of your tutorial thinking that ear wax, as much as it could be, could never make the volume so dramatically less than the other pair, especially overnight. Then I saw your immaculate description of the issue and how you said that the software is programmed to reduce the volume if it detects a certain amount of ear wax. I went ahead with the fix you proposed and not only it worked like a charm, it even made the volume reach much higher levels than I could remember.
+ I also found nothing when I took off the metal grid. It was only until after I removed the filter that I saw the wax, just as you described.
Thank you so much for your tutorial. You sir are incredible!

Hamza! I apologize for not responding to your comment sooner! Your thought process was BEYOND reasonable and I honestly was in the same boat. I was like there is no way this ACTUALLY worked and if it worked for me. . . . will it possibly work for others? It's been nothing short of incredible to see how many people were struggling with a similar issue and got sorted out when they pushed past their skepticism and gave the solution a try.
Much love to you from Dallas!

Just checking in to let you know this saved my wife's earbuds! I found out today she hadn't been using her buds for 6+ months now because the left ear was virtually silent. I fixed the left ear too well! I put them both in my ears to test them out, and I could tell the right ear sounded weaker now! So it only took me another seven minutes and I did the other.
👂🔥PRO TIP: If you haven't ever followed this process to clean your buds, I found it much easier to run the needle around the metal grate a few times to help loosen the factory glue, then gently put the needle tip in one of the holes in the grate (pick a 'side', don't do it in the middle) and gently, very gently, use leverage and the grate will begin to tip up and out.

100% accurate. This deserves multiple thumbs up. All this time I thought it was a setting that was keeping my volume low. Little did I know it was filthy behind the screen. I can't believe how much wax accumulates through those tiny little holes.

    • @thematrix3431

Wilson! Dude I thought the SAME thing when I was looking for a fix. I was like SURELY it's either a software update issue or maybe internal hardware is broken from me having dropped the buds before!?!? NOPE. VEEERRRRYYYY slowly over time, dirt/ debris makes it through those holes and blocks the signal.
Actually! Now that I'm thinking about it? Maybe Samsung DESIGNED it like that so that owners KNOW to clean their filters out. 😯😯😯😯😯😯😯 This whole time I"ve been thinking WOW how could they overlook something like this but maybe it is an intentional design feature so that owners clean their buds. WTF? LOL

For those who are doubtful about there being earwax, if you feel an oily residue when you remove the grill, that's the earwax. Earwax is oily when it is first made, it ages into the wax we're used to seeing.
Washing your ears will help control the rate of build-up in your buds.

For those of you, like me, having trouble removing the small black filter behind the metal grille:
Lay the whole grille with filter in some alcohol and let it sit fot 5 mins. Then take your Q-tip (or cotton bud) and roll ACROSS the black filter, the wetness of the alcohol plus the friction of the rolling motion will slip the black filter right off.
Even if the black filter doesn't come off, letting the grille sit in the alcohol plus rubbing both sides (metal & black side) should do enough. Maybe use a compressed air can also to blow any loose dust & wax residue off the grille and earbud as well.
This worked a charm; thank you for the very articulate video.

@@TX_BoomSlang Truthfully, I don't know, my friend. If you didn't want to void a warranty and Samsung would let you send them back in and get them fixed for you in a reasonable time frame then there are some people who would pick that route 10 times out of 10. But if Samsung is just going to open up the buds you send them and clean them out then ship them back to you, many people wouldn't see the point and would just clean them out themselves as they care more about the product just working than they do the warranty. If Samsung sent you a brand new pair, chances are, at some point, that pair will do the exact same thing as it's caused from you using them and them eventually getting dirty from one's ears. But it's entirely up to you, boss! Either route you take, you've got a solution if they do go bad

@@thematrix3431 I appreciate your feedback, friend. I just read something that made me want to make sure that we all had our butts covered. Bottom line is, no matter how much we clean our ears after showers or how far we dig, our ears will all seem gunky I guess. You also make a great point I had not considered, which, is addressing warranty. I may go back and add that I'm not sure if it will or won't affect it. I know I got my buds secondhand off marketplace so when I reached out to Samsung about a fix, I wasn't able to receive much help because the buds weren't associated with my account. So for those in a similar position to mine or those who just want to make the quick adjustment, I hope this video is helpful.

    I cannot thank you enough!
I bought my buds around 2019. They are my favorite headphones ever. Around 2-3 months ago, the right earbud started to sound lower than the left one. I thought they were old enough so I got used to it. The past weeks it got lower and lower to the point it was barely making any sound from it.
Tried restarting settings. Tried every single Bluetooth settings. Nothing!
I was about to buy new ones, because I thought sending them to service was cost ineffective.
And then I thought why not search the internet for similar issues or answers.
Then I found your video. All I can say is you are a life saver. Perfectly explained video and instructions. First time in my life that I tried and actually fixed something with my own hands. They sound brand new again.
