Yeah. Given that the ref gave the pen on the field, the only thing I can think of to wave it off was a foul in the APP. That’s what Houston was pointing towards and they did have a player who looked hurt. This one will be interesting when PRO releases the review next week.
@@DukeTrout I would love to believe voiding the PK makes sense somehow, but the ref isn't reviewing the leadup. We can clearly see the VAR screen, that she's reviewing the contact on Moultrie. Maybe we can get the refs mic'ed up, as they are in MLS, so they can fucking explain these mystifying VAR decisions.
@@noodle_fc I highly recommend the Professional Referees Organization channel. They review all the VAR reviews for the week for both MLS and NWSL. Next weekend’s version should have an analysis of this situation, as they seem to always show the VAR booth and communication with the referee when there’s an overturned call on the field.
