    Vince, thank you for everything you did for our city! You helped put Toronto on the map before Drake or any of these guys! 4 ever a Raptor!

    Hall of Famer for sure but def not a first ballot. Greatest dunker of all time. He beat a banged up old Knicks team in 5 games in 2001 coming up short against Philly in the 2nd round. He never got the Raptors to the conference Finals. Moved to the Nets and had a good run there. Then he becomes a role player with Orlando, Phoenix, Dallas, Memphis, Sacramento, and Atlanta. His longevity is to be admired but he should’ve had more success than he did. Very good player. One of the most exciting NBA players of all time.
    Congrats

      Championships usually reflect how willing upper mx wants to invest in a team. At that time, leafs president Richard Peddie and GM Babcock wanted a rebuild with a young Bosh and Raphael Araujo.

      @moonjp That's crazy to me. They should've kept Vince there at all cost! Vince had another 5 years left of his prime up until I would say mid 2010-2011 season which is when Bosh hit his prime and right as he left for Miami.
      BTW, I do think Vince is a hall of famer. I know it's not an NBA hall of fame and more for his contributions to basketball. However, it still matters if he won a chip and his success as a basketball player.
      Congrats to Vince Carter. Well deserved

      Vince put us on the map! If it wasn’t Vince we wouldn’t have a team! The nba would have relocate the raptors to the USA if it wasn’t for Vince! Vince paved the way for people like demar, Kyle, kawhi and Scottie! So, get the hell outta here!

    • @jaytse2269
      @jaytse2269 6 месяцев назад

      That said I don't think his number deserves to hang in the rafters. Only 1 playoff series win, no significant longevity stats simply because he didn't play in TO long enough and checked out his last season. And he definitely didn't pave any route for Kwahi... Kwahi did much more for the franchise in only 1 season than Vince accomplished in 6. Kawhi's undisputedly better. @@TROY-upBENTLEY

      @@jaytse2269 : Vince saved the raptors franchise. Look at Vancouver and how fast they relocated because they didn’t have a superstar to put them on the map.

      @@TROY-upBENTLEYI do agree he did keep the franchise alive during that period and what happened to Vancouver likely would have happened to TO as well

      @@jaytse2269 : Vince deserves his number to be retired because he saved the raptors franchise. The nba would of relocated the raptors if we ever stuck with Antwan Jamison
