You can’t tell the story of basketball without Vince Carter. And you can’t ever take away the legacy he clearly left in Canada. He honestly should be our first jersey in the rafters.

      Lowry first

It should be Lowry first. Lowry never quit on Toronto and he brought a championship to Canada. Vince quit on his team, just look at the difference in stats from Toronto vs New Jersey after the trade.

As a Canadian and born and raised in Toronto. It was saddest day learning Vince Carter was leaving the Raptors as a kid. His dunks were the things of art and amazement to watch.
Never understood the hate for the man from raptor fans.

Nothing but mad love for Vince!
This man gave me and countless other Canadians the love of basketball!
Well deserved Hall of Fame nod!

A true legend in this game. watching him over 22 years was simple amazing i used to sit on my old windows computer as a kid to stream all his new jersey nets games that weren’t on TV. Those were the days man. Retire his jersey NOBODY should ever wear #15 Again. 😢

    Retire his jersey.
Was on the other side of the argument until I watched The Carter Effect. Helped me look at it from another different angle. U want to get mad about it u can blame Rob Babcock for the way things played out. Time to forgive and give him his proper due.
    He made everyone take notice.

Forget just jersey retirement. He needs a statue. Scotiabank needs a statue of Kawhi’s shot against the Sixers and one of Vince’s dunks from the dunk contest

@@coreyromberg No Kawhi statue cause he didn't stay but a Lowry & Derozan one plus a Vince carter reverse windwill statue would be awesome.

@@vickpanchal5559the Kawhi statue wouldn’t be a tribute to the player as much as it would be tribute to the moment- the definitive, most memorable moment in the run up to a championship

Sportsnet, this was a beautiful piece on VC. Congratulations on his HOF induction, happy he wants to go in as a Raptor. I honestly love rocking the iconic #15 raps jersey and hope the raps retire it.
