    You are the consummate GoldWing Ambassador, and as such you are hereby crowned King Caliente! Don’t let that get in your head now...Ha! Go ahead, let it. Keep doing what you do man, loving the GoldWing and riding it or any bike for that matter is good for the soul.

    I use Shell Rotella T6. Works great on my wet clutch. It has for the last 15 years or so.

    Thank for the info Chris. I think I'll start using synthetic on the next change. BTW, I don't know how it is on your year bike but I find that taking the front engine cowl off to change the oil gives me a lot more room to work. On my year it take just few minutes to take it off and put back on. Also saves the ears of anyone near me when I'm trying to get the filter off.

    How is the Amsoil working out?

  • @jamesbottger5894
    @jamesbottger5894 3 года назад

    I have a question for those of you who use the boutique oils (like Amsoil, Motul, Redline, Lucas, Royal Purple, etc). Why pay $15 or more a qt when you can get Super Tech full synthetic at Walmart (which meets Honda's JASO MA spec) for $5 a qt? The $15 a qt stuff isn't any better.

    • @KurNorock
      @KurNorock 3 года назад

      Because in my experience, the Lucas oil additive legitimately makes a difference. And since Lucas oils contain the additive, i use it in my motorcycle.
      Besides, the bike only uses 2.2 quarts and only needs changed roughly once a year. Even at $15 a quart, it's still a cheap oil change.

    • @seatime674
      @seatime674 10 месяцев назад

      @@KurNorockThe bike takes 2 quarts if you want to change the pistons next week, it takes exactly 4 quarts..

    • @KurNorock
      @KurNorock 10 месяцев назад

      @seatime674 i honestly have no idea why that says 2.2 quarts. Either i meant to say 4.2 quarts or i was thinking of my xr650l for some reason.

    • @jamesbottger5894
      @jamesbottger5894 10 месяцев назад

      @@KurNorock I’m not talking about an additive, I’m talking about the oil itself. It makes no sense to spend twice as much for oil or more when the less expensive oil is just as good.

    How often do you change the oil?

    • @chriscaliente5033
      @chriscaliente5033  7 лет назад +3

      Honda recommends changing their conventional oil every 8000 miles, Amsoil synthetic said that I can change their oil once a year if I use the Amsoil micro filter which is better than the Honda OEM paper filter, I personally change my oil 2-3 times a year because it's really not expensive.
