I recently bought an 06 Goldwing 1800. I did exactly what he says in the video and it works exceptional!! It makes the stock speakers so much better when you are p😂laying music through bluetooth devices. It stinks when you have to play the radio b/c it doesn't sound as good as it does after you do this simple simple up grade. Highly impressed.
I’m assuming at the time this video was posted, the Neoteck NTK059 was the only version of this amp available. Since this model is not Bluetooth on its own, the Bluetooth adapter and inline isolator were necessary to make the system work.Neoteck now has the NTK 106, which is a Bluetooth amp. Nothing else is needed, except for the power port to plug the charger cord into. The aux cable from the bike plugs directly into the headphone jack on the amp. One just pairs their phone to the amp, and that’s it! I installed mine on my 2003 Goldwing. Turning the volume up all the way on the amp is too much for my stock system, about half way seems to be the sweet spot for me. I have new Show Chrome 2 way speakers, front and back, on the way to replace the original speakers. It also sounds great through my J&M headset. I don’t have any noise interference from charging the unit while using it.
I bought a NTK106 based on your comments and ot worked great...until it didnt. I had the amp wrapped in an old sock in the dash pocket to protect the amp from vibration a little bit. This year, first ride, it started crackling a little, then it stopped working. No power light, no indicator light when it charges. Did it succumb to vibration or did the unit fail for other reasons? I sent Neoteck a message but no reply. Dont want to keep buying the same thing if its going to keep breaking. Any thoughts?
Thanks for the cheap guy tips DMAC. I did exactly that except I also power my on-board camera so, I removed the stock 12v outlet and installed a triple USB outlet. Now my blutooth, camera power and amp power are all in the pocket. Love it.
Well hello again my good friend this is Emmett listen I discovered something GREAT. ON MY 2009 GL 1800.WING..I had the hook up like your review suggested and everything was was okay... BUT.. I started to get engine noise from THAT LITTLE AMP UNIT.....so.. What I did.WAS...i removed the little amp...and just connected my gold wing accessory plug. Directly...into the isolator..plug and then the isolator plug, directly into the Bluetooth.. and the Bluetooth directly back into the cigarette lighter plug ...THEN...I. TOOK MY. CELLPHONE VOLUME TO MAX.VOLUME..AND THEN SWITCHED BACK TO auxiliary..on the wing.. And..WOOOOOW...ITS EVEN BETTER..THEN THAT AMP NOW..AND IS BLASTING AT. VOLUME 9..AND I WAS ABLE TO PUT BACK ALL OF MY SETTINGS THAT I HAD BEFOR ON THE HONDAS STOCK AMP..BEFORE USING THAT AMP THAT YOU DID YOUR REVIEW WITH...I NO LONGER HAVE ANY ENGINE NOISE AT ALL..JUST SMOTH CRISP MUSIC FROM MY Android Samsung cell phone.. AND. IT. IS...GREAT. MY FRIEND...SO..IF YOU GET ANOTHER WING..YOU TRULY NEED..TO DO..THIS SAME INSTALL..AND IT WILL SAVE YOU FROM BUYING SOME OTHER AMP TO PUT IN YOUR SADDLE BAG....👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍...Let me know if You received this message My friend..and tell me what you think ..because its GREAT...😊😊😊😊😊
Hey, DMac! Just added your setup to my 2008 Goldwing Roadsmith Trike. I love the improved sound! This will definitely work until I upgrade the speakers. thank you and God Bless!
Saw your video two days ago. Ordered the items on Amazon and they delivered it already. Hooked it up and dam it made a huge difference !!! Very simple and it works
Thats what I like to hear. Spent less than $100 to get some more power from your stock system. Win win in this hellish time we are living in. Ride Safe!
Worked like a charm!!!! I was very skeptical at first because I have tried something like this before, but trust me, my 2007 GL1800 Wing sounds much better. I only use 10 as the volume is loud and clear. I went higher and couldn't take it because it was too loud. WOW. Thanks!!
Exactly. It boosts it SO MUCH its unreal. Almost fake how much it works. LOL. I sat in amazement after buying all the things and said to myself, I must make a video on this for the people.
Just got all the parts in today and hooked it up. 5 minutes. Works marvelously. I listened to Pandora and XM Radio on a test ride. Crystal clear! I do need to grab an extra headphone jack splitter so I can hook back up my Garmin Zumo which was using the stock jack. This is a perfect solution. I can’t stand listening to marginal quality music in my Sena headset. Even with the upgraded speakers
Hey bro thanks for leaving me a comment. I am glad it works great for you and others here who have purchased the items and have had great success upgrading their stock system without going overboard
I always use the Harman BTA10 Bluetooth receiver wired to Aux. Not preferential perse, just have a few in everything else and they always work for anyone that can pair bluetooth. Only gripe is the pairing name cant be changed.. it's always bta10 and when you have a few of them it's slightly annoying.
I got this set up and it works great. Next is to upgrade the speakers so the amp doesn't mess them up to bad, as it really rocks! I have tried the bluetooth FM devices and they just never hold up. This is a solid solution for getting my jams to relly sound good. Thank You
Recommend, instead of a USB powered blue tooth receiver to get a good quality rechargeable blue tooth receiver and therefore avoid the need for a noise isolator that can reduce certain frequencies of music. Just need to remember to charge it when needed. A noise isolator is only needed if it requires a constant power source but using the noise reducer can also decrease music quality as some have said in reviews of them. I would say the mini amplifier is the most important part of this set up as he mentions in the video..
it's wonderful the sound quality is just amazing!!!!!!!, easy to install. I bought the version equipped with bluetooth directly the NTK106. thank you very much
Ok I just installed this system.honestly wasn't expecting much. Dam was I wrong.I have a 2004 wing with standard speakers. This made a big differance I really like it works for me. Thanks for the top.👍
So glad this helped you Paul! Its amazing how a few small things put together can enhance your stock system without going overboard and purchasing all new speakers and a dedicated amp. Ride safe!
Great video, I know all the items would work even in 2024...but since this was made in 2018, I wonder if there are newer "upgraded" components that would make this setup even better?
Great idea. I did it all but I think it's too much for my speakers. They sound awful at the bass tones... Just rattles and sounds terrible. 2002 so it's probably just time to get new speakers. However, this really works. Thank you very much!
Try using an app on your phone that is an EQ and lower the BASS level to almost minimum. this will allow you to pump the volume more so it will not rattle as much and you can make it a bit clearer.
I use the NTK 106 with built in Bluetooth. I don't worry about charging it while riding since I get a full riding day's operation on a single full charge. Your results may vary.
@MaynardFreek I was using low but I switched to an Electrical Connection Bluetooth Aux unit a couple of months ago. It plugs into the auxiliary plug cable under the left fairing pocket so needs no charging. Automatically connects to my cellphone when I turn the key.
In addition to my Harley Electra Glide, I picked up a super low mileage 08 GL1800 a few days ago and was looking for a way to Bluetooth it. All these parts are still available so I ordered them. Looking forward to giving this a whirl. I have lots to learn about the GW.
I fixed my sound problem by replacing the stock speakers on my 2008 1800 with Polk Audio DB651s Slim-Mount speakers in the front (required a tad bit of trimming in one spot with my Dremel) and Polk Audio DB501 speakers in the rear (a drop-in replacement). It has been 3 1/2 years and the sound (even at highway speeds) is still fantastic! I do run a bluetooth receiver with an isolator into the aux port, and play my iPod through it
T.S. - I have a 2008 GL 1800 too. However, I had to install my own cigarette (charger) just this morning. However, I did not see an aux cord. My question is: where and how do you install a port cable wire to the 2008 Goldwing? Thanks in advance.
Glen, as long as your goldwing has BOTH the cigg lighter port(charging port) and the 3.5 mm aux cable, you should have no problems at all. In fact its my understanding that the older models had better quality speakers. Ride safe
I appreciate the step by step listing of equipment, I'm just not sure how/where I actually hook into the bike's system via the 3.5m cable. Seems like the list u provided is a closed loop, starting with the power plug and ending with the Neotek Amp. Do I plug the existing 3.5 jack into the output of the Amp where one would plug in headphones?
..... sorry... hooked up ll the pieces, and W O W!! THNX for such a great sounding, affordable addition to my recently acquired 2010 wing. Lookin forward to many music filled miles ahead. Thank you, again! God bless, and Happy Easter!
The stock system is plenty loud enough. I've never had any issues hearing it at over 100 mph. WHAT THE GOLDWING NEEDS is a subwoofer. Pioneers sells a compact subwoofer with a 50 watt amp that will fit in the right hand side of the fairing - no joke. inside you will need to trim off the bracket that holds a wire harness to the vent tube. Trim out the bottom of the locking glove box. Wire it up slip it in. IT FITS! Now, the reality is, it won't quite thump against your chest, but it will fill out everything that is missing from 300hz and below. Less than 200 bucks, no visable alterations - everything is inside. You will also want to stuff the factory speaker cabinets with foam, to get rid of the honky midrange. But the sound is decent. Not killer, but reasonable.
@@Rapheal.De.La.Ghetto MORE sound. Amplified stock sound to be exact. Quality will need to be adjusted with an EQ. Turn BASS down for clearer sound at higher volume
@@grindsoul awesome thanks. I found your video looking for a Bluetooth option from my iPod (even though the aux cord in the pocket works just fine). I'm not trying to win sound competitions by any means but I'll take more sound or a clearer sound any day
So with the new amplifier they have out that has Bluetooth 5.0 you don't need that Bluetooth piece or the Noise reduction thing cause you will be transmitting straight to the amp then to the bike. RIGHT?
most definitely. If the amp has BT built in thats awesome. No need for the extra parts i wonder if the developer made that change because of how many units he sold from the video haha
@@grindsoul my GW has the 6 CD changer and I see there is a device that changes it to basically a MP3 player that the bike will recognize it like it is a CD player so you can use the controls on the bike that are for CD to use it. only thing is then I guess it wont be going through this Amp What can I do to make it better. You mentioned something about adding an Amp to the system using the left Saddle bag I think u said.
2 questions; will you be able to hear navi voice commands while listening to phone music via Bluetooth, and number 2, what happens if I plug in the OEM audio 5-pin cable from my helmet to the bike, will it mute all sounds thru the speakers?
If you are using an app on your phone like Google Maps or Waze that has navigation audio telling you when to turn etc, then yes it will transmit over through your speakers. If you are using something else like the built in navigation on the GL1800, I am not sure because I only tried that system one time and realized it was dated for my liking. I never also used the 5 pin connector as I mostly used a wireless Sena 10S helmet unit. Sorry if I could not help you.
This system works great! It has been working fine, but now the sound from the speakers crackles for no reason. starts out fine then, suddenly no crisp sound. do you have a clue as to what happened? Thankyou!
Not sure honestly. I had issues with certain songs with popping and crackling and what I would do is remove all the BASS levels using an EQ app on my phone. Turn the BASS to 0. It could also mean that your speakers are going bad?
So what do we do with the connector in the small compartment... "The Gateway" to the sound system, as I see it, we aint using it..?? or what did I not see... ;-) ??
Truely amazing and helpful. Ordered all the parts . Got them delivered just now, hooked it up and hoo raa...........perfect sound and bluetooth compatible on my wing. But my OEM speakers do suck, so i will have to upgrade them.......thanks. Mark in orlando. Dmac.....TOU THE MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Absolutely Awesome! Thank you for helping me save $$$ as its truly produces an amazing quality sound at such little additional expenses as well as reduces all the distortion which was coming from the speakers and now boosts up power output with awesome great sound quality. 5 x STARS from me and a definite like! :)
Glad it helped yet another person. I eventually upgraded my speakers but this was the perfect cheap solution to get a ton of extra performance out of the OEM system. Enjoy and ride safe.
OK I know this is old as the hills.... (2018 and its now 2021) lol....I watched it and it is exactly the solution I was looking for using the AUX cable and the cigerette lighter with a USP plug in to power everything. My only question is and I know this is probably stupid....you plug the AUX cable on the wing into the back of the Neoteck amplifier correct ? ( I have a 2008 Premium Audio Wing) And do I need to purchase any cables to go in between the components?
I eventually upgraded my speakers on my goldwing thinking that it would help a lot but honestly it didnt.... The AMP and EQ is the most important thing. Use a 3rd party APP to EQ your music and turn the bass down to 1 or 0 and you can crank the OEM speakers to almost 30 before hearing distortion
Just found this video and bought the parts and it has made a huge difference. I do find I am still getting interference and wonder if anyone else experienced that? I tried it without the ground loop isolator and it was worse so the one I bought does work to a degree however does not eliminate the noise completely. Are there better quality isolators out there?
Just did this set up on my 2007 Wing. I used the Noteck NTK 106 with built in Bluetooth so I didn’t pick up the isolator. Everything works great but I get heavy distortion when I charge the amp on the go. Any suggestions as to how a ground loop isolator could be added to this setup, bearing in mind I have nothing running to the aux in on the amp because it already has Bluetooth onboard?
if the bluetooth dongle is properly powered, it should show up on your bluetooth device list when you are going to pair. After the first pairing, your phone should automatically pair to it each time you turn on your bike afterwards
Oh and PS my good friend it is blasting at level 12 almost blasting anyway in other words it's loud at 12 so let them know that they really have to adjust the volumes on their cell phone and their Goldwing to get the music perfect that a good punching volume when they turn it up..👍👍👍👍.. they will need to adjust the volume on the Goldwing e m f and amp the bass the trouble and ambience as well as the volume on the cell phone but even more so on the Goldwing Amplified AM FM radio because it will sound distorted if those adjustments are not made
DMac of Queens Hi DMQ. Any chance you could post up the links to the items you used in your video? I heard you mention you were going to in the comments section, maybe I missed them? Thanks much, and thanks for posting the video! -John
@@grindsoul so going to an upgraded larger amp made the bike bluetooth compatible with your phone? What did you use. I'm looking to upgrade the speakers and system and want my bike bluetooth to hear music and nav from my phone
First I have heard of such a problem. When you say "the music stops" you mean on your phone its still playing but nothing is coming out of the speakers? I would re-check all connections and make sure they are clean and secure. Reconnect the Bluetooth dongle to your cellular device if possible to try to rectify that . Other than trying that I have no idea brother
Hey Rico! Great question! Since the AMP has a rechargeable battery that can last over ten hours Whenever I needed to charge my phone I would just temporarily unplug the amp and charge my phone
Hello my friend I hope you respond to this message if this installation that you have just showed us is so great why would you also install another app into the bike boost your stock amplifier if this installation you are showing us is so great..??????. I will be waiting on your response
I originally wanted an "in-line" amplifier wired directly into the goldwing in the left saddle bag to give me bluetooth and better sound. I was not confident enough in myself to do such an installation so I found a work around using the stuff in the video. The stuff in the video is great if you want to amplify your stock system without re-doing the speakers and wiring on the bike. It's basically plug and play as long as you have the Cig lighter port in your left glove box, but also having all that stuff in your glove box crammed in there can be annoying to some people also. After some time of using these products, I eventually paid a professional car stereo shop to install a KenWoo 400W Bluetooth Amplifier in the left saddle bag as I originally wanted. I then removed all the stuff in the video and gave it away to a fellow GL1800 rider I knew and he loved it. Have a great day Emmett and ride safe
You need to check your OTHER comments that you left because i replied to each one explaining everything. But I will copy & paste what I typed on the comment 2 weeks ago so hopefully you'll see this? Full explanation of how to connect it. You will never get a demonstration video, I do not have a GoldWing Anymore. "where does the accessory plug from the Goldwing .plug into this Amp" --- Into the headphone jack labeled port on the AMP that looks like a pair of headphones. "and there is also a gain switch on the amp..is it moved to the .L..POSITION..OR TO THE. " H" POSITION." ----keep it on the H Position. "HOW TO ACTIVATE ALL OF THIS through my accessories switch on the bike" --- Press the AUX button on the left side until AUX is displayed on the goldwing screen. This means the Aux cable is being used. "and how to link my cellphone to this amp." --- You're actually linking it to the Bluetooth receiver that says bluetooth on it, not the AMP.. It should be visible as a bluetooth device under settings in your cell phone.
Hi there! I watched your videos and I think that it is a great a idea. I bought the items and I got the updated version of the Neotec. But I don’t know which of the buttons on the left side should I press to have the audio come out from?
I don’t see a list of parts or suppliers on here can you list the diff parts and a supplier for them. Thank. Do you know if it available in Canada ? Thanks
Just received the kit from Amazon today.my question is i have a 2016 goldwing gl 1800 and a stock radio withe no bluetooth.does this link my phone to it and were does the lead go out of the glove box without damaging the box cover?
Everything in the kit should be wired together, connected to the AUX cable in your glove box and packed in there. There is enough room for the cigg charger, the bluetooth dongle and the amp to be carefully packed into the glove box so it remains CLOSED and no leads(wires) come out of the box at all. Its all wireless
Well hello my good friend I just wanted you to know that I finally got everything to work and it is truly great but I had to make so many adjustments to my cell phone volume the goldwing's volume Kansas unit volume to get everything perfect but I finally got it to work because you gave me those few little instructions to complete the job and I found out what number or what code the Bluetooth links up to on this Bluetooth unit that was giving me a little problem so I had to go back to the box that it came out of the oven it told me the units name on the back of the box to look for when I'm Perry go so I wanted to let you know and you can give that information to others if they need it that is just great thank you my good friend please forgive me for all the other messages working this new phone it wasn't giving me the notice or notifications of new messages or responses from you..👍👍👍👍👍
No worries Emmett. I am glad you were able to finally figure it out without a video. I knew you could do it. It was not that complicated at all. Yes you have to adjust the BASS down to near 0 but you can get great volume from your OG speakers with this kit as you now know. Sorry you didn't see my previous responses and if you did you probably would've figured it out long ago. I miss my Goldwing but I love my Valkyrie. Ride safe.
@@grindsoul question number to my good friend or for whatever how long does the amp stay charged after it is charged and what would be the rate of the charge if it is constantly in the cigarette lighter being charged on the motorcycle after you've shut down your bike for the night will it over charge itself..????
@@emmettrowe5164 No, It wont overcharge itself. The amp lasts a long time charged up. After I stopped using it on my wing, I kept it and put it on a stereo system in my house and it was not charging and working for weeks. You can also use any inline rechargeable amp so on amazon there are others just like it any of them will work the same as long as they have the output/input 3.5mm jacks to hook up everything. Yes the newer NEOTEK should work the same way . You'll need a working USB port (Its not required to have the cigg lighter) but you need something to power the USB Bluetooth receiver. Yes you can use your cellphone you dont need an mp3 player.
Hi! Is there a way for my friend to contact you concerning blue tooth installation on his Gold Wing. He has been watching your videos and still has a couple questions to ask you. Let me know if he can call you. Thanks
Hey Susan, thanks for commenting. About your friend, is he watching via your RUclips account? You can ask any & all questions here, as many have before and I will answer them as best I can. I am happy to help to an extent, but I will not give my personal number, im sorry. I'm sure you understand. I'm not endorsed by the products I used or obligated in any way to help but I am happy to do so when I can. Thanks and I will wait to hear from your friend.
@@grindsoul Hi!! Since this video was put out two years ago, have any of those 4 components needed to complete the upgrade become smaller or more tech savvy since you last posted? He said his front compartment is small and was hoping smaller parts were available. He has to place his phone in there also and worries it might not fit. The links to the parts you posted are no longer active and my friend couldn't find them on Amazon either. Plus he wanted to know if all four parts go directly in the front compartment or are they placed in other areas too. He has 2012 GL1800. If you could provide me the information on each component and a link to purchase plus their proper placement, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!!
@@susanmichael4157 Hey Susan. None of the four components that were used have become smaller unfortunately. All four parts are STILL in stock on Amazon. I JUST clicked each link in my description box to make sure they were still active so I am not sure why your friend can't find the items or the links don't work for them. All four links are opening amazon and showing me I can buy now with Prime shipping on all items. Others have told me at one point some items went out of stock, but they did return. All four parts go into the front glove compartment linked together the way I described in the video. Yes, Its a tight fit, but they will all go in there snugly. Sadly, the phone will probably not fit (as I never tried that) I always had my phone mounted on the handlebars for my GPS etc so I never had that issue. The AMP is pretty hefty, and if he wanted to save room he can opt to not use the ground loop noise isolator to save space in the glove box.
@@grindsoul Hey DMac!! Thanks so much. My friend, Mark, thanks you too!! He does have another question tho relating to choosing the best phone mount for the handlebars of his 2012 GL1800. Like you, he is going to add all the components and place his phone on his handlebar. That particular handlebar is not a smooth surface and he's not sure which one would provide the best fit. Do you have any recommendations? Thank you so much!!!
@@susanmichael4157 Was Mark able to get the links working? Please LMK. I prefer the "RAM MOUNT SYSTEM" brand of handlebar mounts. They are a bit more expensive than others, but you get what you pay for. They're around $60 but very secure. Tell Mark good luck and Ride safe!
Yes. After everything is wired together, the whole thing feeds into the AUX in the glove box. MAke sure to have your cigg lighter installed so you can keep everything happy and charged up. The amp works for about 10 hours by itself but its good to keep it continuously charged up
make sure all connections are clean. Make sure the ground loop isolator is connected in the right order and facing the correct direction. I didn't have any problems with this setup and many others are using it with no problems. We have to figure out what the issue is with yours.
Your phone call will come through the speakers, but talking would be hard. I use a sena 20s bluetooth headset for those purposes. When I have a call coming in on the phone, I usually quickly turn that on to answer it.
Some riders in the community (including myself) thought that the stock oem speakers and system could use a little help. Others like yourself think that its enough.
Thanks for making this video. I ordered just what you recommended but don't have a cigarette lighter because I have a 2002 so I just added an mp3 player and it sounds great. I'll run the wire for a 12v later. That little amp doubles the volume!
The freewire does something completely different. Thats if you want the GL1800's infotainment system to be able to transmit wirelessly the radio and GPS from the bike to the SENA. I just wanted to be able to connect my phone to the bike, and have my speakers work better.
Hello my friend I was watching your review on this Bluetooth connection the only thing that you did not do was actually demonstrate and hook it up and show us how it hooks up how you adjust the sound and everything so then we would have a good example of what we would be purchasing all you did was show the famous and we were supposed to purchase but you did not do a demonstration of all of that being hooked up to your wing and adjusting the volume and things of that nature and that is what's truly truly miss from this review and should be added.. so I will be waiting on your response which is going to determine if I should subscribe to your channel depending on how quickly you respond to this comment
Its not an expensive investment into the sound system of your bike. I have had others comment the same thing and requesting that I demonstrate the sound but unfortunately if I do RUclips blocks the video due to "copyright claims" on whatever music I put in the video. Demonstrating the sound volume and showing how to hook it up would need music or something but once I use it they flag me. I am sure you understand. Also, subscribers are the least of my worries, and is the last thing on my mind when I reply to people(which I do all the time) so don't worry about subbing, im just trying to help people. I actually dont own my wing anymore since my wife rides her own bike now so I have a R1200 GSA. Ride safe Emmett.

It should be visible as a bluetooth device under settings in your cell phone. I am in no way shape or form obligated to show you how this works. This installation is very cut and dry and nobody has made comments like you have. I also do not have my goldwing anymore. My wife learned to ride her own bike so I did not have the need for such a large bike anymore. There will never be an installation or demonstration video. If you do not feel technologically comfortable to set this simple set up into your bike yourself, maybe you should check into having a professional stereo shop install a bluetooth AMP into a saddle bag like I did eventually. It saved a lot of space in the glove box and made everything streamlined. This video was a budget option of getting your GL1800 to sound 100% louder for almost no money at all, and it works amazingly. Others who have commented are not having any issues and understood how to get it going without any video from me whatsoever. I hope the answers to your questions help you. All you have to do is plug everything in, link your phone to the bluetooth receiver, turn the mini AMP up to the full volume and start to listen to your music much louder on your GL1800 wirelessly from your phone using whatever music app your prefer.
You’re a bit of a pampas ass. I had many of the same questions and I am technically savvy. You did a great job giving a lots of the things you needed to buy, which I appreciate, but you did a piss poor job of explaining what goes where and in what order. You couldn’t finish a coherent thought and then never actually connected the thing. I understand the one handed issue, but you didn’t have to respond to this guy this way. As for saying there were hundreds that had no problem and there were many comments asking the same question emmet did. Your responses were rude and out of line. Thank you for the video, but get over yourself.
This is the truth!!!!!!! I purchased everything he has shown and it really woke my system up and I have the premium audio thanks Dmac
What is the budget on this?
christian cote go to the links in the description, but I believe I paid about $60.00
You're welcome Jay. Ride safe and blast those jams!
Bought this same setup problem is getting a lot of distortion could you tell me why
@@jamesrobinson3040 same. I think it's time for new speakers.
Holy cow what a difference it makes. I bought everything and hooked it up as instructed and yes, it’s a whole lot better!!!!!
Glad this video is STILL helping people years later. Ride safe and enjoy your new found sound!
Hi Alan, thanks for the post, just bought my first Wing and a day later the NTK106. Brilliant and so simple!
Alan, I’m guessing if the sound is staticky, I need the isolated to stop that?
I have the newer amp that has Bluetooth, where do I put the Aux connector to? It should go into the imput of the amp correct?
Love it.
No problem glad I could help ride safe and good job on the extra power. The Goldwing is so versatile
TOOK
MY. CELLPHONE VOLUME
TO MAX.VOLUME..AND
THEN SWITCHED BACK TO auxiliary..on the wing..
And..WOOOOOW...ITS EVEN BETTER..THEN THAT AMP NOW..AND IS
BLASTING AT. VOLUME 9..AND I WAS ABLE TO PUT BACK ALL OF MY SETTINGS THAT I HAD BEFOR ON THE HONDAS STOCK AMP..BEFORE USING THAT AMP THAT YOU DID YOUR REVIEW WITH...I NO LONGER HAVE
ANY ENGINE NOISE AT ALL..JUST SMOTH CRISP
MUSIC FROM MY Android Samsung cell phone..
AND. IT. IS...GREAT. MY

My friend..and tell me what you think ..because its GREAT...😊😊😊😊😊
So you don't use the little amp at all?
Hey, DMac! Just added your setup to my 2008 Goldwing Roadsmith Trike. I love the improved sound! This will definitely work until I upgrade the speakers. thank you and God Bless!
Enjoy and ride safe! I am glad after all these years of the video being up people are still benefiting from it
Saw your video two days ago.
Dmac thank you bro. Add more of your cool secrets lol
My buddy did this setup and loves it... I'm getting it now. Thank you
I always use the Harman BTA10 Bluetooth receiver wired to Aux.
Thank You
William Zimmer hey I am glad you’re enjoying it! For the price and simplicity of installation, you cannot find a better solution! Rock on bro!
Just bought a 2010, and will order stuff now. Great video, subbed
Much appreciated and good luck lmk if you have issues
Recommend, instead of a USB powered blue tooth receiver to get a good quality rechargeable blue tooth receiver and therefore avoid the need for a noise isolator that can reduce certain frequencies of music. Just need to remember to charge it when needed. A noise isolator is only needed if it requires a constant power source but using the noise reducer can also decrease music quality as some have said in reviews of them. I would say the mini amplifier is the most important part of this set up as he mentions in the video..
You should make a demonstration video so we can hear how it sounds and see how it works
Sorry Peter, I don't have the bike anymore but I can assure you it works like magic and costs almost nothing really.
it's wonderful the sound quality is just amazing!!!!!!!, easy to install. I bought the version equipped with bluetooth directly the NTK106. thank you very much
Very happy to see another GoldWing owner able to get great bluetooth performance with the setup I showed. ride safe and good luck
@@LayneSteighlee there are. The amp has the Bluetooth built in now so it’s less complicated
Great idea. I did it all but I think it's too much for my speakers. They sound awful at the bass tones... Just rattles and sounds terrible. 2002 so it's probably just time to get new speakers.
However, this really works. Thank you very much!
Try using an app on your phone that is an EQ and lower the BASS level to almost minimum. this will allow you to pump the volume more so it will not rattle as much and you can make it a bit clearer.
what part plugs into the aux cable of the bike?
I use the NTK 106 with built in Bluetooth. I don't worry about charging it while riding since I get a full riding day's operation on a single full charge. Your results may vary.
What impedance setting do you use (L or H)?
Excuse me does it works on a Honda goldwing from the year 2004 please?
Glen, as long as your goldwing has BOTH the cigg lighter port(charging port) and the 3.5 mm aux cable, you should have no problems at all. In fact its my understanding that the older models had better quality speakers. Ride safe
With 2019 gl1800 dct, can you use the ntk106 amp & ground loop isolator with Carlin kit for CarPlay ?
Hey brother thanks for the question. I can't tell you if it will work with Carlins Kit for carplay you'll have to try it out and see. Good luck!
Jim, Yes, you plug the existing 3.5 jack into the output (headphone) plug on the amp.
NVM... I just saw your instructions on another comment. I hooked up all the
..... sorry... hooked up ll the pieces, and W O W!!
Is this focused on giving MORE sound or is it supposed to give a CLEARER sound?
Btw ordering everything today!
Well I just ordered all His suggestions and look forward to giving My wing a little more pep in The sound department. Thanks DMac of queens!
let me know how it works out for you! It was an amazing change before i went with a dedicated amp in the panniers.
@@grindsoul Works Great! Just hooked It all up today and went for a nice long musical ride! Thanks again!! Sure beats The stock sound!
So all of that set up is in the left pocket?
Yes sir. You can wrap it all up neatly and have it fit(minus your phone obviously)
That car charger link does not work anymore. But that is the easiest to replace. I actually had an extra.
is it a normal usb carcharger?
i need to buy this for a friend
Ordering this now for my F6B. Btw, what brand seat is this?
It was the stock seat. Thanks for the comment ride safe
Thanks for walking through this. Thinking about doing it to the wing I just bought. Was wondering if you installed an inline amp? How did it go?
I did have that installed, its in another video on my channel goldwing upgrades round 4. I don't have the bike anymore but the amp helped greatly.
So what do we do with the connector in the small compartment... "The Gateway" to the sound system, as I see it, we aint using it..?? or what did I not see... ;-) ??
What about 2010 Goldwing head set cord replacement
Truely amazing and helpful. Ordered all the parts . Got them delivered just now, hooked it up and hoo raa...........perfect sound and bluetooth compatible on my wing. But my OEM speakers do suck, so i will have to upgrade them.......thanks. Mark in orlando. Dmac.....TOU THE MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Use an EQ app to turn the BASS down and then the speakers will sound better at higher volumes
My brother, I have a problem with the sound not coming out of the radio. Where is the problem?
OK I know this is old as the hills.... (2018 and its now 2021) lol....I watched it and it is exactly the solution I was looking for using the AUX cable and the cigerette lighter with a USP plug in to power everything. My only question is and I know this is probably stupid....you plug the AUX cable on the wing into the back of the Neoteck amplifier correct ? ( I have a 2008 Premium Audio Wing) And do I need to purchase any cables to go in between the components?
Where does the aux plug from the bike plug in?
This is awesome. My system sounds great even with the stock speakers, but I'm definitely getting some upgraded speakers, though
Are there better quality isolators out there?
try to also use a 3rd party EQ app on your phone it might help slightly.
Will do, thanks for getting back to me.
did u have a previous video (i can't find it anymore) of this setup BUT WITHOUT the bluetooth adapter)?
Good video! I'm still prefer the original headset with cord, no need any installation, no battery charge and works great for me.
Could someone show where the aux plug from the bike plugs into? thanks in advance
The AUX plug from the bike plugs into the HEADPHONE JACK on the NeoTek AMP shown at 1:54
Thanks, very informative
glad i could help, ride safe!!!
Help, I bought everything and hooked up, but on my phone I can't find what to pair with. Please help
if the bluetooth dongle is properly powered, it should show up on your bluetooth device list when you are going to pair. After the first pairing, your phone should automatically pair to it each time you turn on your bike afterwards
So do you still hook the aux cable to the amplifier?
Will it work with a 1991 deck player with blank tape deck with aux cord and if so where do i plug in aux cord
Oh and PS my good friend it is blasting at level 12 almost blasting anyway in other words it's loud at 12 so let them know that they really have to adjust the volumes on their cell phone and their Goldwing to get the music perfect that a good punching volume when they turn it up..👍👍👍👍.. they will need to adjust the volume on the Goldwing e m f and amp the bass the trouble and ambience as well as the volume on the cell phone but even more so on the Goldwing Amplified AM FM radio because it will sound distorted if those adjustments are not made
Where does the AUX cord on the goldwing go
into the bluetooth adapter. it has a small 3.5mm jack on the end of it.
Great setup. The only thing I'm trying to do is get a three USB to charge my phone as well
sebcarol1 easily attainable. I didn’t go all out because I eventually installed a real amp into my side bag that gave Bluetooth

Hello brother, I have a problem with the audio output. The music stops, and once in a while the music does not come out at all. Where is the problem?
First I have heard of such a problem. When you say "the music stops" you mean on your phone its still playing but nothing is coming out of the speakers? I would re-check all connections and make sure they are clean and secure. Reconnect the Bluetooth dongle to your cellular device if possible to try to rectify that . Other than trying that I have no idea brother

Still waiting for your reply on just how all of this hooks up to the Goldwing you did not do a demonstration of that..???
@@grindsoul well sorry my friend I just cannot find your responses

Should be the AUX button on the bottom left panel.
Maybe I got a bad amplifier but my iPod sounds much better plugged straight in than it it does using this. 2005 goldwing.
Thanks! My phone goes to my helmet bluetooth, but the amp will allow me yo hook up a cheap mp3 player to my audio.
I don’t see a list of parts or suppliers on here can you list the diff parts and a supplier for them. Thank. Do you know if it available in Canada ? Thanks
robert Cox the parts are listed in the description of the video.
Its all wireless
let me know if this helped you or else I can try and explain a different way?? Good Luck Steve!
so you don't need the aux cord coming from the bike?
If you're talking about the 3.5mm jack in the glove box Aux cable then yes, that goes into the bluetooth dongle.
@DMac of Queens it's still not clear where the cable would go from how this is explained

Do you plug the amp into the aux. jack in glove box?
Yes. After everything is wired together, the whole thing feeds into the AUX in the glove box. MAke sure to have your cigg lighter installed so you can keep everything happy and charged up. The amp works for about 10 hours by itself but its good to keep it continuously charged up
Just bought this same setup and lots of distortion coming from the amp could some one tell me why
make sure all connections are clean. Make sure the ground loop isolator is connected in the right order and facing the correct direction. I didn't have any problems with this setup and many others are using it with no problems. We have to figure out what the issue is with yours.
Interesting and makes sense. But I want to be able to talk on my phone. Will this work?
Your phone call will come through the speakers, but talking would be hard. I use a sena 20s bluetooth headset for those purposes. When I have a call coming in on the phone, I usually quickly turn that on to answer it.
@@grindsoul okay thanks
Wow how loud do you want it to be? My system is fine.
Newk__ glad I was able to help. It’s such a cheap mod for so much performance
Wouldn’t the sena freewire be a better setup?
The freewire does something completely different. Thats if you want the GL1800's infotainment system to be able to transmit wirelessly the radio and GPS from the bike to the SENA. I just wanted to be able to connect my phone to the bike, and have my speakers work better.
Any updates
@@grindsoul then you hear free music from the RUclips library very very easy to do
He did not demonstrate how to hook it up to the Goldwing he just talked about everything you need to buy can you respond to this message my friend and tell me exactly how this hooks up to the Goldwing after everything is been purchased you did not do a demonstration of that..???????
@@grindsoul okay it plugs into the headphone Port got it but now what do I look for as far as pairing with the Bluetooth because this unit does not come up with a model number or to identify this unit to pair up
On my phone .so what am I looking for to pair up with.. and then after that problem is solved where does the accessory part come in...and am I plugging it in the port first befor pairing ?? And am I leaving the radio on and then switch to accessory. After all of this is done. . I truly hate asking all these questions.but you didn't do a installation video ..all you did was tell us what to buy and, where to buy it all...
So, you say what to buy but never showed how to install it. ??
I'm sorry. I was filming by myself with my Iphone so I only had one hand. Can't really connect wires and magically hold a camera up by itself so I did the best I could. It's actually easy and not rocket science. I explained exactly how to install it in the video. I explained each separate piece, how they connect to each other and the reason behind it them connecting to each other. IF you have questions as to how it connects or something confuses you just let me know and I would be happy to explain in further detail
@@grindsoul Oh great,, I didn't mean to offend you by any means and I apologize if I did. The 1st cord you show I see in my left box, where will that be plugged into? And is this only for helmet use? I just want my music to sound better. Please pardon my " I ain't the sharpest tool in the shed " excuse. :))
Don't feel bad, as i.have the same question. I too didn't see, or understand where the 3.5mm jack.should be inserted.
His BT adapter Jack has a wire.from the amp, to it, so that leaves no other 3.5mm jack for it.
Anyone have a response.to.tg8s?
Electric Connection guys. Everything you need to do this .bluetooth and isolater in one piece
do the 2010 have a aux cord
Green Davis:mine does !
Thank you!
Hey Dmac when would you like to ride some time ???
Phil, where you located my man?
@@grindsoul Pa. Around lehigh valley location
Wow you took long to get back
So by all means very good friend let me know that you got this message or rather my last message and thanks again
This works great !
Thanks BJB! Enjoy the 2022 riding season!
Can someone please take your time and do a install video of this unit because his review was completely lousy ..need a review showing exactly how to hook this up 2009 Goldwing..WILL BE WAITING for good wing rider response..
Your attempt at installing this simple audio mod is lousy, not my video. It’s helped many hundreds of people. I tried many times to help explain. I explained in detail what to do. If you’re not technologically comfortable with installing this simple thing maybe you should hire a professional audio shop to do the installation for you. Many people have done it without anything more than common sense. Sorry I could not help but your comments are not needed. And by the way it’s the good riders who make these videos in the first place, not to be put on blast
@@grindsoul sorry about that I'm just now looking at some of your responses on this stupid new phone
@@grindsoul yes my friend there are some good Rider videos out there but they show and. explained the install from start to finish
3.5 mm cable not inch cable
It is too loud. The only thing you missed was to tell me to plug in the cord on the following to the amplifier.
This worked great. Has anyone figured out how to install this online amp to the trunk usb music?? Thanks
Does s 2002 have an auxiliary cord!
Should have one somewhere on the bike! I'm not sure on the Gen 1
Why don't you just install it on the bike so we can see how
I have purchased all of these items my friend now can you tell me step-by-step how I am hooking this up to my 2009 Honda Goldwing where does the accessory plug from the Goldwing .plug into this Amp, and there is also a gain switch on the amp..is it moved to the .L..POSITION..OR TO THE. " H" POSITION..I ASK THESE QUESTIONS..BECAUSE YOU DID NOT.. demonstrate..HOW ALL OF THIS PLUGS INTO THE BIKE..AND HOW TO ACTIVATE ALL OF THIS through my accessories switch on the bike..and how to link my cellphone to this amp..need video installation from you my friend...WILL YOU DO THIS..BECAUSE YOU SHOWED US ALL THE THINGS WE HAD TO BUY
FROM AMAZON..BUT NO STEP BY STEP installation video..THAT..IS TRULY NEEDED..WILL BE WAITING FOR YOUR RESPONSE MY FRIEND..????

Wow thanks
very welcome brother
Thanks! Ordering
Hope you like it! Worked wonders for me and many others
