i'm now learning how to hand shade rather than gradient shade and my sword already look nicer! the resources provided are also really useful! overall great tutorial.

yo I wanna change a amethyst cluster to a diamond sword. on a server its a sword. It works. but when I use left hand my sword is sideways
as an experienced pack maker for java, this actually helped a bit with some unique shading techniques for the blade

Wish this tutorial was out when I started making my pack, but I think I got to around this level by blindly working through it. Looking forward to the rest of this series, and especially the ui, because I have absolutely no idea how to do it

for the ui just pick a color and just start making practically everything the same shade and if it has dark in the name then make it darker It works quite well for the most part unless you want specific ui to look different then Idk either

Chr7st when I made my pack I used bastion as a base and found out tons of color pallets so thank you for letting me see the color pallets u used in bastion also I already know a lot of how to shade a sword so yeah.

I started making a pack like last year, cuz u inspired me to create something really useful for mc. Unfortunaly, I gave up, cuz it's just too hard for me, and it takes too long. Now I have restarted, and hopefully this will help me out.

Something from experience if you’re on a phone is it will be faster if you are able to import/export as a png file into the pack directly
Some textures are tga use photopea for those as most mobile drawing apps won’t have the ability to read tga properly grass_side is one that can be a huge pain to get working
The chest textures in blocks don’t seem to be used if you want to edit those they’re in the entity folder
If it had a transparent background toggle off background as some textures wrap around geometry and can get messed up otherwise
Also import only into global resources not a world folder I did this it’s not fun trying to figure out why textures are “resetting” when opening a world if you imported there
The video is hands down the best "how to make a texture pack" I have seen.
But I wanted to state that GUI And UI should also be made default as some Poeple want to make there own from scratch and having a pre-made can be a bit confusing.
It would be great if you could make a video about it, or help me and aswell as other fellow "new pack makers".

The pixel software I use is actually Blockbench. It's actually a nice software to use IMO. And I can create textures in 16x, 32x and more which is pretty nice for a 3D modelling software. I use this Blockbench because some pixel art apps on Android are not that nice IMO and some you have to pay to use. But, this video helped a lot and thanks for making the base pack, it will really help me out.

Might be a very random question but I've downloaded the bedrock sample with all the textures of the game and I couldnt find the normal Item frame texture file (its literally not there), only the glow one. Same with shulkerbox, there is only the top texture in the sample. Do you know if some textures are like connecting to make one texture??? Because from what I've noticed trapped chest has only the front texture so I guess the rest is filled with the normal one? Also some textures like scaffold are in tga file, should I rasterize it, edit it and vectorize it again ?

by the way the best for android to make texture pack is,pixel art and texture editor,for any version of Android and easy to use,i made a pack with that and its very easy.

I lost my pack which was really good and unique.The best part of the pack were the swords.If u can somehow motivate me,pls try because I feel so tired and I'm sad.The blocks were nothing special I tried to make them as clean as possible.and the bed was 3D,but it's all gone😔.Anyways great video I hope you have an amazing day.

great tutorial but i have a question that is somewhat irrelevant to the video:
particles in texture packs dont work on most servers and only work on a select few (hive, cubecraft, hyperlands and maybe nethergames i dont remember)
in the base pack i saw a critical_hit.json file. does that file show the custom hit particles?
i'm assuming you are reffering to ambients hit particle pack, if so yes, those would be the files for that.

the video did really poorly, I wish I could but I would rather make content that does well. maybe in the future or on a second channel. It's still on my to-do list for things I want to make on youtube

hi bro, tho it can't be used as a java pack but the files are pretty much the same in both versions, the texures one is litterly the same. A few others are different due to the fact that both are developed in different coding languages

Very good tutorial although Im already experienced in pack making but I personally dont agree with what ur saying about handle symmetry I think you should just shade it like the rest with the lightest colours where the lightsource is also 2 colours for outline is ok too lol
if you look at any popular pack you can see theres shading symmetry
@@Chr7st but more popular doesn’t necessarily mean better and imo its very important for the textures to make sense
@@themantikormc I mean in that case, shouuld just every sword be a gradient from left to right? symmetry matters because it's what makes sense, if a hilt is symmetrical you want it to (normally) have the same shading, it has to be darker but I don't think it should only always get darker.

Hey Chr7st, when I imported my pack into Minecraft there were a bunch of errors for example that the Flowering Azalea Texture can not be found and a lot of UI errors. Can it be that this doesn’t work because it’s a newer Minecraft Version?

iv never mad a pack and i wanted to make a pack so i came to this vid but idk how to put the pack in the right place when i try to colour its not working.
Can these be done in more than 16x16? 64x64 for example would be 4 pixels thick instead of 1, how does this work for the top edge of the sword, do we need to do it like armor/skins with 6 2d images?

when I make a pack and put it in the game, the sword, which I had cut down, loses the 3dness so you can just see through the sword. How do I fix this?

alright I know I joke around alot but honest question, so I see many packs for pvp having short swords, but why? is it so you can see more? and also how short would the limit be? like what if you make it so short you can't see it? would that be helpful?
well so most of my packs have short swords that should probably be 1 pixel taller, but yeah its because you can see more on the left side of your screen when your holding stuff. you'd be surprised how important that space is for awareness and stuff
