She should of won the best director that year for her masterpiece Yentl. It's a shame that jealousy, depisemment perhaps because of her temperament at times, but then who doesn't have those human emotions, and the fact that she was a woman in a historically male dominated category, blinded or interfered with objectivity and fairness in judging artistic excellence in directing. She deserved it that year.

Yentl was a beautifull movie. Everybody agree that Hollywood was very unfair with her. Maybe they gotta scared of her talent. She is a producer, director, Singer, actress with Amazing quality and taste. Some may argue she is "difficult". Very rare in Hollywood. But must have an excuse tô place in the freezer a huge talent. Anyway if she was a guy then Oscars and Oscars for real, for merit and not "free lunch". Maybe the mistake Barbara did was not tô pass herself as a guy, with beard and Hi my name is Jacob.
