- For the first time ever, music icon Barbra Streisand sat down with Ellen, and told her all about her new Netflix special, "Barbra: The Music ... the Mem'ries ... the Magic!"
I don't care what anyone says, Barbra Streisand is one of the best voices in music. Then on top of that she can act and direct. I loved her directorial debut in Prince of Tides.Go Ms. Streisand!

She's Barbara Streisand. She has zero scandals associated with her name and has given lots of time and money to charities. Not to mention her INCREDIBLE body of work that is nothing short of classic. I have no doubt that when she asked for those concessions, she did it in a nice way. I've never heard any hint that she is anything other than a gracious woman. Just the fact that they were talking about the reasons for it and joking about it, speaks volumes. So let her have her diva moments. She's earned them.

No arguments here. She has described herself as an odd combination of beautiful and ugly. I obviously disagree with her politics, but her extraordinary talent transcends her loony politics. There will never be another like her in our lifetimes.
Barbra asks for this and she gets it. She demands better lighting and she gets it. She wants certain flowers in her dressing room and she gets it. She wants spring water from France on her plane and she gets it. She wants the best suite in the hotel, in luscious pink, and she gets it. Why, you ask? BECAUSE SHE EARNED IT!!! She has been in show business since the 1960s. She has blessed us with her beautiful voice. She has entertained us on the silver screen with her comedic and dramatic roles. She has directed and produced three of her own movies (all beautifully, by the way). She has donated monies to charities she believes in and actively supports. She has been an inspiration to generations of girls and boys all around the world. To this day, she is a role model for anyone who is determined to succeed in anything. She does not badmouth anyone. She believes in equality for both men and women AND she has been a supporter of gay marriage. I've loved her since I was 8 years old. THE BROADWAY ALBUM was the very first cd I ever bought and I played it night and day. I hope she stays around for another 100 years!!!

She broke the barriers for a lot of opportunities for women. She encourages women to speak their minds and to believe in themselves. I just think you should know that. ☺️

I just love Barbra! The Netflix Special was just beautiful. I loved every moment of it. And oh! The very end when they show her and her beloved dog Samantha... I just love it and I think even younger people who haven't heard much of Barbra will love her whole performance too
Honestly tho, Barbra is a legend. A living legend whether you love her, hate her, don't give af or otherwise. It's Barbra Streisand. I would cry like instantly if I saw her live and I'm not even particularly a huge fan or anything. I only know her mainstream stuff from her films, but she is a very special person with an incredible, timeless voice. It would be an honor to see her and hear her :) x

Regardless of anything, Barbara Streisand will be remembered as one of the most influential entertainers and public figures of the 20th century and a bit of the 21st century, she performed for JFK remember. And please if you have not done so yet, please you tube Judy garland and Barbara. Their duet is one of the most iconic performances ever on tv.

The saddest day of my life will be if Barbra passed while I'm still alive ...she has been the glue that holds me together since I was 7...I had a bone marrow transplant St the City of Hope and my requirement was that her singing would be piped into my room for 28 days....I believe she has ALWAYS been the BEST singer in each of her age groups... that's my 2cents

Ellen willingly gave up her seat. Barbra rarely does interviews and Ellen agreed. Who cares? Barbra is a legend and I'm sure Ellen was thrilled.
She does that for every talk show and duet performance she's done for the last 25 years and even shields the right side of her face on the red carpet. It's because she thinks her left side is her "good side", whatever the hell that means. At this point she's had so much face work done she's starting to look like Big Ang from Mob Wives, no matter what side you're looking at.

On talk shows, the host usually sits on the right. This is because the viewer usually reads left-to-right and the eye comes to rest on the right half of the screen. It's the same reason that magazines are usually laid out to have the text of articles on the left and advertisements on the right when the magazine is opened. So having the host sit on the right of the frame gives the host prominence. But because Streisand insists on having her good side face the camera, she needs to sit on the right. And most talk show hosts accommodate by having her sit on the right. You can see that in many of her past talk show interviews on RUclips with Ellen DeGeneres, Jonathon Ross, and Jimmy Fallon. Rosie O'Donnell even had her desk and guest chair on her set rearranged so Streisand sat on the right.

Barbra is an icon with one of the most incredible voices I've ever heard. Loved everything about the interview except the end when Ellen had Andy complete it. It sure seemed that Barbra wanted Ellen to stay with her and especially to say good bye and thank her.
