Having an old age parent is the best advantage that a child can have, as the child has a parent who has maturity, a more rounded personality, and has the life experience and wisdom that a child can draw upon as they grow up.

Agreed ...I used to tutor elementary children and I realized the more intellectually and socially developed children had parents in their 30s & 40s compared to kids who's parents had them in their teens and early twenties.

It's a personal decision and there are many factors that go into this. For example, some men may meet the right partner later in life. Also, some men may get divorced and meet someone they wish to have (more) children. Anyhow, parenthood is a huge undertaking and all aspects of it should be thought through before having children, particularly at an older age.

My cousins dad died when they were 4 in a car crash. Lived with their grandparents. I think biggest worry is if anything happens to us who has our child. If you have a good close family that could take over that’s not too bad. My grandad was more of a father and best friend to me than my own dad. He died at 79. But would have had longer. I had 15 fantastic years with him. Not long I know, but great years. That stays with you. Any good time is good time.

The only real advantage is that children of older fathers have longer telomeres. This may or my not confer a longevity advantage(telomere biology is complicated, with longer tel;omeres associated with better immunity, cardiovascular health and healing, but also more cancer). But the quality of a man's sperm declines at 35, and *seriously* declines at 65 or older. When we say "older father" we need to quality "how old". There is a huge difference between "older" as in "35-60", and 70+. Children with fathers in the first age groups have statistically only a small higher risk of developmental disorders. But the sperm of a man who is 75 has a LOT of genetic mutations, and many sequences of the DNA might be flat out missing. The risk is quite real, and significant enough that maybe a man this age shouldn't impregnate a woman by the naturawl method, but should instead have his sperm anlysed in a microscope and have the few that still show the most intact and healthy DNA be selected for implantation. As for extremely old man, say, 95 or older, your time has come and gone. You are just too old. Your sperm is now a soup of deformed and damaged DNA. The risk is just too great.

    • @Rtn7789

@Peter coderch it's fake even a 96 year old fathered a healthy kid in India only thing is that the man should have viable sperm and kid will be as healthy as the man when he was in 20s also reproducing at old age indicate great health but I think the mutations will be caused if the man has any serious health conditions otherwise it is okay for a healthy man to have baby at any age.

On the one hand, older dads give their children longer telomeres, which tends to be good - especially for immune health. But on the other hand the kids are born with more mutations to their DNA. Pointing out on 96 year-old that had healthy kids means nothing. I am talking about statistics here.

I don't want to be called dad or daddy. I wish to be called father or papa in respect and in return I will respect my kid. I don't want a kid until I turn at least 50, maybe older than that. Once I'm 50, 50 will be the new 30.

    John 3:16-21
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

I was born when my mother was 42 and my father was 50. Because of this, I was embarrassed of people seeing them and hoped to God that they just assumed that they were my grandparents. Not only that, but I had to live with the burden of worrying if they were gonna die when I was a teen/early adult. I literally have to get my older sister to pretend to be my mom in order to not be embarrassed, and even faced bullying as a consequence of my parents actions. If you choose to have a child at an old age, then you're fucking selfish for having to put your burden onto your child. You're doing nothing but humiliating them, and they'll grow to be irresponsible just like me because you were too old to even care to teach them things.

Sounds like you're immature and blaming it on your parents. My dad was 67 when he had me, my mom was 44. He died when I was 2, and my life has been difficult ever since. My mom wasnt a great parent either, but I joined the military, I'm getting my associate's soon and prepared tonget everything I need in the next few years. Stop blaming your parents.

Sorry you had to experience that horrible childhood, no child should have to worry about losing their parents at a young age nor be robbed of the things a parent is supposed to teach their child growing up, I was the opposite my mom had me early and yeah we struggling a little but its nothing compared to the love, nurturing and time she had to teach me, young parents are truly superhero's.
