    Recently our old Protector LP Propane gas detector went out on us. RV Propane alarms should be replaced every 5 years. So, I jumped on Amazon and found a new propane alarm to replace ours.     Did you put the electrical tape around the wire nuts just to secure them better? I bought one "Safe-t-Alert" to replace my expired one and it's exactly the same except my old one was propane detector only and the new one is "Rv carbon monoxide/propane detector". That's ok isn't it?

      I'm pretty sure I did use electrical tape, I usually do that. I think that would be fine to have a dual alarm, we had looked at one of those too. Thanks for watching!

      Thanks! I didn't realize that it needed to be replaced every 5-8 years. It's super easy to do though!

    I prefer a detector for Propane + CO
