I always loved the episodes where Alfea is attacked. The music, the panic, the students defending themselves, the apocalyptic atmosphere, the protective barrier that never helps... Chills.
I have a few things I’m gonna point out 1. Whenever Aisha isn’t in the plot one of two things happens either she’s helping fight valtors forces or her life gets ruined 2. If you’re a princess in this series especially with this season prepare to be thrown in the ringer harder than anyone else cause it feels like bloom,Stella and Aisha had it rougher than the other girls
I like how they betrayed being a princess has something that comes with a lot of chaotic events becoming your problems that you have to solve has the royal family of wherever you are at
This season really feels like the season of the princesses. The three non princesses: Techna gets killed but not really, earns Enchantix Flora saves sister, we see her homeworld, gets Enchantix Musa saves Galatea, gets Enchantix and new hair Princesses: Bloom Valtor is constantly stalking her and trying to ruin her life at every possible moment, her love life is destroyed because of Valtor, she can’t get her Enchantix the proper way because Domino is dead fr fr, has a whole ah training arc on Pyros Stella gets turned into a monster and kicked out of her family, her dad is out under a spell after he remarries someone who hates her, learns about inner beauty and that her friends would never find her ugly (gets Enchantix) Aisha’s whole world gets destroyed, she’s temporarily blinded but fixes it because of her new Enchantix powers, gets set up with an arranged marriage with someone she doesn’t know but ends up unknowingly falling in love with (then he dies but sh) LIKE… DAMN WRITERS CALM DOWN
That's why it's amazing! I love all of the girls but the whole different world dramas was incredible! So much going on in one season and not one episode fails to deliver!
People in real life who have a personality type like Flora's would wholeheartedly admit how much they repress their hate of someone simply because they know how important it is to be kind. But yes, these people often resort to passive-aggression once they decide to be angry. X3
35:20 Imagine how painful that must be. It's never directly stated because it's a kid's show, but their wings are a part of their body. They have to have some sort of nervous system to move them. Imagine getting your arm frozen or ripped off. If this wasn't a kid's show, girly would be screaming in pain. Edit: I don't think Musa restoring her wings is a problem. The Earth fairies regrew their wings, so she would've too, eventually. Musa just sped up the process.
I I think it 's not right to directly mix magic in cartoon for children with the physiology of real people . But even so , we have areas of body where the number of nerve endings is minimal . And their wings are not even usually painted attached to their bodies. At the same time, it has not been shown that fairies somehow react painfully to actions with their wings. Icy froze Bloom's wings several times earlier and she didn't have any problems with it except that she can't stay in the air. I think their wings should be perceived more like some kind of gliders, or jetpacks behind their backs powered by the fairies' own efforts
@@Medbrat99 I guess you can, but it simultaneously makes the concept of magic less magical and less realistic for me. I interpret magic as an extension of the wielder's body, something they can feel and that's a part of them the same way their blood is. If their wings are just jetpacks on their backs, they seem less like magical creatures to me and more like people wearing power armor, and it makes what the wizards did less egregious.

Moderately disabled girlie from birth here. I think it is better that Galatea immediately gets her wings back, for the argument that you've stated. Considering we've already had Aisha heal herself and Stella healing Sky established, it would be pointless for Musa to not immediately go for the fairy dust. A lot of the time, I wish I could immediately be "cured" from my disabilities. While my cerebral palsy is extremely mild compared to what the pop culture of understanding is, (I function 100% as my own person, no devices, assistance, medication, or anything) it still impedes my ability to do something like work a full time job. And, on top of that, I have fibromyalgia, meaning that any pain I feel is up higher on the pain scale than normal, and even the memory of old injuries can spike again in things like a drop of barometric pressure like someone with arthritis. Sometimes, I feel 30 years older than 25.
im also disabled but not from birth. i hate when able bodied ppl say they'd rather have a character stay disabled for representation. becoming disabled is extremely traumatic and leaves a bitter feeling for years, if not the rest of your life. i think every person with a disability would rather be cured than stay the way we are. disabled rep from birth or from something that doesn't happen outside of a flashback or memory is fine. but disabling a character for "representation" leaves a bad taste in my mouth. tldr i agree lol

Plus, her wings were going to regrow eventually, as evidenced by the fairies of Tir na nOg. Musa just sped up the process.
as a disabled person i very much agree, giving a character a disability (even a minor/background character) requires a level of care and attention this series could not afford with how tightly paced it is- her wings would've probably grown back anyway so musa's spell was healing a temporary injury rather than a permanent disability and i think it's better the season healed her wings now instead of handling a disabled character poorly.
I don't think Galatea is a problem, especially because she was actively robbed of her wings by someone in a battle. You wouldn't be angry at someone getting a prosthesis after losing a limb due to war either
Stella being out there slaying Dark Sky and the brainwashed Cloudtower witches left and right like the star she is. This is an indication that Bloom wasn't meant to always take center stage.
This reminds me of “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets”, when they were taking Dumbledore away and he said: “Help will be always given to those in Hogwarts, who need it.”

You know, I wish that Faragonda transforms into an Enchantix in this season and displaying to the other fairies, especially the Winx, what the power of Enchantix can really be at its zenith. Plus I'm always curious what her Enchantix would look like, along with Grizelda.
18:06. Yeah the darker background for Stella's Fairy Dust makes it easier to see the star she draws with her Fairy Dust compared to the finished version. Why do I get the feeling Griffin and Valtor were dating (or at least Friends w/Benefits) but Griffin realized dudes weren't for her and hooked up with Faragonda and by extension the Company of Light. The way Valtor interacts with Griffin gives off "Bitter Ex-Boyfriend" vibes. The Trix (especially in the 4Kids Dub) give off the vibe of "The girl who peaked in High School" and it was all downhill after graduation or in the Trix's case, being expelled.
I have some issue with the writers story lines about Diaspro from season 3 in episode 9 like after the Winx broken the dark spell on Sky, she was never been seen again or reveal her fate on screen which is a disappointment as I would to see what happen to Diaspro just we all know Countess Cassandra and Chimera's fate after episode 19. I would liked to fix the ending of episode 9 so here's what I imagined. After the Winx broken valtor's spell on Prince Sky and ordered the guards to arrest Diaspora and take her to the throne room were Sky's parents and Diaspro's parents are there learning the whole truth about the event. The king and Queen will punishment Diaspor for siding with Valtor by banishing her from Erakyon forever. Diaspora will be furious and upset saying that ' I would have finally have Sky to myself if it was for Bloom!' in tears as the guards take her away but not before she see her parents face with disappointed in their daughter for what she had done and blame themselves for not being better parents. Diaspor bow her head down in shame after seeing her parents were upset with her and knowing that she won't be seeing them again. Sky's parents apologize to Bloom and her friends from what has happened back in the previous episodes. After the triumph victory of celebrate of break the spell on Sky, Bloom and Sky were seen in the balcony holding hands and kissed each other at the end of the episode.
It is time for the icon herself to have her moment. I will forever love how the only person to this point in the show to actually have been able to fight valtor is faragonda (maybe Griffin was able to offscreen, but we will never know). And than she still looses, which i love as a story point so much. The headmistress who up until now in both former seasons (season 1 nightmare monster and season 2 as back up to help fight darkhar weird pet monster and than also have the shield spell) always was a figure able to help the winx if they are facing enemies and are too close to loosing, IF she is around at that time. And now this kinda undefeated power house lost leaving her students to have to save her....... I LOVE these kinds of student saves and surpasses the teachers moments in shows
To be fair it’s not like it would change much. The school houses countless knowledge of spells and magic while also is run by presumably the third highest person on Valtor’s hit list (1 is bloom, 2 is Griffin). Plus it’s likely if Bloom did leave for a more lengthy time period, Valtor would attack to Alfea just to further destroy her moral.
Just to point it out with content; it’s so incredibly important that you work with what makes you genuinely happy. If you’re feeling burnt out, it’s almost critical that you take steps back to be able to work on other things to preoccupy yourself. Point is: take your time Thomas. Most of us are willing to wait for part 2 of the Season 6 rewrite. (In all fairness, season 6 is a disaster no matter how you try and write it, your rewrite thus far has been absolutely incredible, and puts what Nick and Rainbow made to absolute shame.)
God I remember catching "Alfea Under Siege" randomly on Nick in high school and the entire tone of the episode had me HOOKED. This was before I dove back into Winx Club and completely sunk myself into it for 2 ~ 3 years, so I had _no idea_ the show would dip into this much action. I didn't remember much of the S1 fight choreo either but S3 just makes me miss it SOOO BAD, IT'S UNREAL. I miss when the fights felt dynamic and weighty so goddamn bad. S3 is overrated for a REASON, BRO😤😤😤😤😤
My two cents on the Galatea, disability thing as a disabled person. Grossness warning. Im hearing impaired on my right ear, it has a collapsed ear drum and gives a nasty discharge of runny, liquid earwax, meaning that I cant dive under water without damaging my ear further and also make me struggle with balance, had this since childhood and it will be with me for life. For me, when it comes to curing disability or what is considered a disability in fiction is heavily depended on the context of the story. For the most part, I dont think disability should be cured in fiction as it doesnt reflect real life. Eks. Toph from Avatar should not be healed as it is integral to her character. But you still have to respect the story as well and the themes surrounding a character, a good way to handle this is to have disabled characters make different choices; maybe one choose to heal their disability, while another keeps theirs. But this has its pros and cons. For Galatea specifically, I think it makes sense for her to be healed, as it is quick enough and she dont have to take it with her for the rest of her life. Not to mention that Queen Morgana in season 4 mentions that wings grows back over time. So for me, Galatea was never disabled, as I consider a condition a disability if it is for a long time, maybe even for the rest of your life. Galatea was just wounded for a brief time and Musa hastened the healing process. Thats how I feel about it. It would be like calling Deadpool when he loses a limb for a brief time. I would at bare minimum, if presented with a magical solution, make sure that I could swim normally, as it is an activity I love, or get rid of this disability entirely because of my story with it that I dont wish share on RUclips, but that doesnt mean all disabled people would want that and that should be respected. If you consider neurodivergence a disability, wich it can be in some cases, then thats a disability I dont want get rid of, so it is situational.
True, a huge theme in Winx Club is that good triumphs over evil, so Icy`s evil actions was undone by Musa`s good actions so it is in alignment with this series` themes.

hi, im disabled (cerebral palsy) and i think that disabilities are better translated when it effects someone's life daily in small and big ways. so if a fairy loses her wings but she can still function easily, would be hard for non disabled people to understand what we struggle with. i had people come up to me saying im lucky that i can just sit all day and someone is taking care of me, but i cant even go to the WC by myself and sometimes there is no one around to help. some disabilities are not so visible that is true but in animation and film i feel like it needs to be seen to be understood. the good and the bad, like in the last airbender and dragon prince or josse the tiger and the fish. also im happy she got her wings back it gave me hope as a kid that i could fight to be more able (i hope this makes sense) Winx Club forever!
A really cool detail that I love about season 3 is that whenever the girls (except from Aisha) transform into enchantix their hair lineart switches from the usual black lineart to colored lineart,I wanted to have a headcanon that the girls having colored lineart for their hair from season 4 onwards (until season 7) meant that they are like full guardian fairies, but that doesn't work because 1. Aisha and icy had colored lineart for their hair from the begining. 2. Most of the characters from season 4 onwards had colored lineart for their hair, so in reality it was just an artistic choice
I am not disabled, so please disregard me if any real disabled people feel I am wrong. But, I would think that it depends on the person when it comes to fixing their disability. I don’t think you’re wrong in assuming that the wound being fresh for Galatea is a reason for why she would want it fixed and thus, fixing it wouldn’t be an issue. But I also think of situations where blind people get surgery and all that and I would think it’s a similar situation here no matter how much time had passed. It overall probably just depends on what the individual actually wants.

Personally, I don’t mind her getting her wings back, we’ve already established that healing is a thing in this season so it makes sense. Instantly healing someone who has spent their life with a disability does feel a bit weird though cause they’ve obviously learned how to navigate life with it and your basically telling that person “Nah, you’re broken, let’s fix it”. I guess if it was offered as a choice and the person could turn them down then it’s okay but I can’t comment on it fully as I wasn’t born with my disability. I went from living life one way for 22 years to suddenly having to change everything in the span of a few days. If 22 year old me was offered an instant fix when my spine first went on me, I would of taken it. Me now at 29, I’ve lived with it and adjusted and I don’t really care that much now. That being said, seeing a fairy who was born disabled or has spent a portion of their life disabled navigating the magical universe would be pretty cool.
Just a coincidence I know, but I love how aestetically young Griffin is so similar to Roxy. Add here my constant disappointment for Roxy and Griffin never becoming closer after the girl transformed back to a human when the Trix made then a crow in season 6....

Baltor had the magic of several worlds and an entire school of witches and Faragonda was able to hold her own against him impressively long. Longer than griffin.

As someone with MS (not sure if that counts), it would be nice to see a character adjust to having a disablity, and we see how they are before and after Like Galatea could've stayed at alfea and become a professor after graduating. That'd kinda establish that she's still a fairy (w/o wings) and contributes as much she can

It would be interesting to see someone with a temporary disability; her wings would eventually grow back, but Winx club isn't the correct show for it. I don't think the writers had the skill to do that type of storyline. They could barely do their characters of color justice.

sorry I'm a bit late to this one I just got home from vacation. it probably won't surprise you to find out that I thought this video was great! I'm sorry if my comments are getting repetitive, but the editing and humor this episode was just immaculate. I was so glad you touched on all of my favorite moments from the episodes 1: "It's gonna be the end alright, BUT NOT FOR US! 2:: "that was refreshing"! (I'm not sure why, but they are 2 of my favorite lines from the whole 4kids dub). Of course I've saved the best for last FARAGONDA VS VALTOR!!! The other thing I wanted to touch on was something I hinted at in my last comment. As much as I love the little fight between the Winx and Sky, I wish There was a little more ( My comments are slightly less valid because since my last viewing of season 3 I forgot just how hard he went after the girls with the dragons and stuff in the previous episode) I think it would have been interesting if Valtor's mark would have given sky powers and he would fight the Winx that way especially if it ended with a 1 on 1 vs Bloom and believe it or not, there is a lot of evidence pointing to sky having the potential to learn magic. 1 i'm pretty sure he and Riven uses magic control the dragons during the dragon exhibition. The amount of effort they were putting behind the hand gestures especially After sicking their dragons on one another makes me think there is no way they are just normal hand signs. 2 In episode 1 it is stated that pretty much everyone in magic has magic and can use it however they please 3 Not to knock on Riven's accomplishment with the dragon, but being the prince of Erakleon, Sky probably has blood ties to some extremely powerful magic users in his lineage .Also yes i am aware that this would not guarantee Sky magic but it MIGHT increase his chances of having it even if it's dormant 4 it is never stated that any of the red fountain vehicles are charmed to let them past the magic barrier to Alfea nor that the barrier makes an exception for red fountain students yet they can enter as they please 5 Saladin a powerful magic user and as headmaster of red fountain it stands to reason he may teach a special magic course 6 Sky is regularly described as a prodigy to the point that Cortatorta often puts sky in charge of the most important missions als as a SOPHMORE so it stands to reason that if he did get magic he would learn how to use it quickly. 7 Helia also knows a little bit of magic being the origami bird trick he teaches flora and as far as we know he has not had any formal training in magic. so it shouldn't take Sky much to learn how to use his powers ( also yes this does clash with point 5 especially because Helia is Salidin's nephew , but I thought it was still worth a mention) 8 in season 4 , The Wizards of the Black Circle use their powers to give powers to Mitzi and her friends so there is no reason Valtor's mark shouldn't do the same for Sky I know this was another really long one , but i was really excited about the idea. Apologies for any misspelling incorrect capitals or anything else that is confusing, but i'm too tired to go back through this whole thing. Hope everyone has a great night! 😊
OK, as a disabled person, let me talk about the galataia scene: when Musa gave her back her wings that was sweet but probably not that necessary in the long run. For example my original character within my story I'm working on is a long lost princess with magic that is disabled. She was literally reborn that way due to evil forces messing with her and her mother. So in conclusion it was pretty bad the way they wrote this
Also disabled person here, not really. Her wings were going to grow back anyways; it would've just take a few years. She was the fairy equivalent of someone with a broken leg. Musa just sped up the healing process.

39:17 As a deaf person (I use cochlear implants) I think what would be interesting is seeing how techno magic could replicate wings. Like how the fairy is still disabled, but they use tech to help them. There is an interesting conflict there as well due to being in the middle of the disabled community (for me I’m stuck between the deaf and hearing) and the able-bodied one. The deaf example is that the deaf community is quite against cochlear implants and sees it’s as betrayal, however, the hearing people still see me as deaf when I tell them. It’s a very interesting conflict to explore and it’s a shame we didn’t see that :(

Idk why I'm doing this here and not in the reaction of the episode when Bloom gets Enchantix but I'm going to rank the ways the girls earned Enchantix ,also I won't be counting Secret of the Lost Kingdom, only season 3 Worst- Boom: she didn't sacrifice anything, she just fought like she has always done, but she got incomplete Enchantix so I guess that's fair; 2nd worst- Musa: I think it was kinda done dirty, like was is really that difficult bringing Galatea out of the fire for her? It wasn't bad of course, leagues better than Bloomix, but compared to the others it was a bit underwhelming; 4th best- Stella: I liked the moment when she "sacrificed herself" for her dad, it just didn't gave me the same sensation that the top 3 gave me; 3rd best- Aisha: gaining her sight back was literally her mission, but she decided to not do that in order to safe Queen Ligea, and I loved this moment; 2nd best- Flora: I think Flora's Enchantix earning scene is underrated, because I never heard someone addressing it, like everybody talks about Tecna who nearly d1ed to save Andros and presumably all the magic dimension and about Aisha who sacrificed her sight for the life of Queen Ligea, but Flora? She literally dr0wned to save her little sister, Tecna was presumed d3ad, but Flora straight up stopped breathing, even if just for a few seconds; 1) Tecna- however for me is impossible not to put Tecna first, she really put her life on the line in order to save Andros, Aisha's planet, not even hers! I was confused about her earning Enchantix given that she should have saved someone from HER homeworld but I guess that if someone didn't stop the portal other planets such Zenith would have been in danger as well. In the end, even if some sacrifices where better executed than others, I don't think that there was a Winx that got Enchantix without truly earning it (except Bloom but again, it was incomplete and she actually saved her homeworld in the movie), definitely better than doing backflips, singing in a cave, being Indiana Jones and just doing nothing while your fiance's ex tries to end your life... Right Bloomix?
I know but I grew up with the dub and I hold it very dear so everytime 4kids Sky speak I picture Yugi saying romantic stuff to Bloom, like some sort of crack ship.
The Galatea thing could be her also becoming a witch because Griffin is at alfea for a while and she gets to be Galateas mentor in no wings magic and Galatea becomes a witch

it no wonder why season 1 to 4 have the best villains and have people matter or having the winx have goal beside the winx, now they basically a band that if one got married they all get married which won't happen since they quote on quote 16

35:20 Imagine how painful that must be. It's never directly stated because it's a kid's show, but their wings are a part of their body. They have to have some sort of nervous system to move them. Imagine getting your arm frozen or ripped off. If this wasn't a kid's show, girly would be screaming in pain.
Edit: I don't think Musa restoring her wings is a problem. The Earth fairies regrew their wings, so she would've too, eventually. Musa just sped up the process.
I I think it 's not right to directly mix magic in cartoon for children with the physiology of real people . But even so , we have areas of body where the number of nerve endings is minimal . And their wings are not even usually painted attached to their bodies. At the same time, it has not been shown that fairies somehow react painfully to actions with their wings. Icy froze Bloom's wings several times earlier and she didn't have any problems with it except that she can't stay in the air.
I think their wings should be perceived more like some kind of gliders, or jetpacks behind their backs powered by the fairies' own efforts
@@Medbrat99 I guess you can, but it simultaneously makes the concept of magic less magical and less realistic for me. I interpret magic as an extension of the wielder's body, something they can feel and that's a part of them the same way their blood is. If their wings are just jetpacks on their backs, they seem less like magical creatures to me and more like people wearing power armor, and it makes what the wizards did less egregious.
Yeah it kinda reminds me of Suitor Armor where some Fairies have had their wings be either ripped out by humans at war or surgically removed.
I wonder what would have happend if she earned Enchantix instead of Musa, would the wings regrow or would she be a wingless Enchantix fairy ?

Moderately disabled girlie from birth here. I think it is better that Galatea immediately gets her wings back, for the argument that you've stated. Considering we've already had Aisha heal herself and Stella healing Sky established, it would be pointless for Musa to not immediately go for the fairy dust. A lot of the time, I wish I could immediately be "cured" from my disabilities. While my cerebral palsy is extremely mild compared to what the pop culture of understanding is, (I function 100% as my own person, no devices, assistance, medication, or anything) it still impedes my ability to do something like work a full time job. And, on top of that, I have fibromyalgia, meaning that any pain I feel is up higher on the pain scale than normal, and even the memory of old injuries can spike again in things like a drop of barometric pressure like someone with arthritis. Sometimes, I feel 30 years older than 25.
im also disabled but not from birth. i hate when able bodied ppl say they'd rather have a character stay disabled for representation. becoming disabled is extremely traumatic and leaves a bitter feeling for years, if not the rest of your life. i think every person with a disability would rather be cured than stay the way we are.
disabled rep from birth or from something that doesn't happen outside of a flashback or memory is fine. but disabling a character for "representation" leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Plus, her wings were going to regrow eventually, as evidenced by the fairies of Tir na nOg. Musa just sped up the process.
as a disabled person i very much agree, giving a character a disability (even a minor/background character) requires a level of care and attention this series could not afford with how tightly paced it is- her wings would've probably grown back anyway so musa's spell was healing a temporary injury rather than a permanent disability and i think it's better the season healed her wings now instead of handling a disabled character poorly.

Why do I get the feeling Griffin and Valtor were dating (or at least Friends w/Benefits) but Griffin realized dudes weren't for her and hooked up with Faragonda and by extension the Company of Light. The way Valtor interacts with Griffin gives off "Bitter Ex-Boyfriend" vibes.
The Trix (especially in the 4Kids Dub) give off the vibe of "The girl who peaked in High School" and it was all downhill after graduation or in the Trix's case, being expelled.
I have some issue with the writers story lines about Diaspro from season 3 in episode 9 like after the Winx broken the dark spell on Sky, she was never been seen again or reveal her fate on screen which is a disappointment as I would to see what happen to Diaspro just we all know Countess Cassandra and Chimera's fate after episode 19.
I would liked to fix the ending of episode 9 so here's what I imagined. After the Winx broken valtor's spell on Prince Sky and ordered the guards to arrest Diaspora and take her to the throne room were Sky's parents and Diaspro's parents are there learning the whole truth about the event.
The king and Queen will punishment Diaspor for siding with Valtor by banishing her from Erakyon forever. Diaspora will be furious and upset saying that ' I would have finally have Sky to myself if it was for Bloom!' in tears as the guards take her away but not before she see her parents face with disappointed in their daughter for what she had done and blame themselves for not being better parents.
Diaspor bow her head down in shame after seeing her parents were upset with her and knowing that she won't be seeing them again. Sky's parents apologize to Bloom and her friends from what has happened back in the previous episodes. After the triumph victory of celebrate of break the spell on Sky, Bloom and Sky were seen in the balcony holding hands and kissed each other at the end of the episode.
It is time for the icon herself to have her moment. I will forever love how the only person to this point in the show to actually have been able to fight valtor is faragonda (maybe Griffin was able to offscreen, but we will never know). And than she still looses, which i love as a story point so much.
The headmistress who up until now in both former seasons (season 1 nightmare monster and season 2 as back up to help fight darkhar weird pet monster and than also have the shield spell) always was a figure able to help the winx if they are facing enemies and are too close to loosing, IF she is around at that time. And now this kinda undefeated power house lost leaving her students to have to save her....... I LOVE these kinds of student saves and surpasses the teachers moments in shows

To be fair it’s not like it would change much. The school houses countless knowledge of spells and magic while also is run by presumably the third highest person on Valtor’s hit list (1 is bloom, 2 is Griffin). Plus it’s likely if Bloom did leave for a more lengthy time period, Valtor would attack to Alfea just to further destroy her moral.

Point is: take your time Thomas. Most of us are willing to wait for part 2 of the Season 6 rewrite. (In all fairness, season 6 is a disaster no matter how you try and write it, your rewrite thus far has been absolutely incredible, and puts what Nick and Rainbow made to absolute shame.)

God I remember catching "Alfea Under Siege" randomly on Nick in high school and the entire tone of the episode had me HOOKED. This was before I dove back into Winx Club and completely sunk myself into it for 2 ~ 3 years, so I had _no idea_ the show would dip into this much action. I didn't remember much of the S1 fight choreo either but S3 just makes me miss it SOOO BAD, IT'S UNREAL. I miss when the fights felt dynamic and weighty so goddamn bad. S3 is overrated for a REASON, BRO😤😤😤😤😤

My two cents on the Galatea, disability thing as a disabled person.
Grossness warning.
Im hearing impaired on my right ear, it has a collapsed ear drum and gives a nasty discharge of runny, liquid earwax, meaning that I cant dive under water without damaging my ear further and also make me struggle with balance, had this since childhood and it will be with me for life.
For me, when it comes to curing disability or what is considered a disability in fiction is heavily depended on the context of the story. For the most part, I dont think disability should be cured in fiction as it doesnt reflect real life. Eks. Toph from Avatar should not be healed as it is integral to her character.
But you still have to respect the story as well and the themes surrounding a character, a good way to handle this is to have disabled characters make different choices; maybe one choose to heal their disability, while another keeps theirs. But this has its pros and cons.
For Galatea specifically, I think it makes sense for her to be healed, as it is quick enough and she dont have to take it with her for the rest of her life. Not to mention that Queen Morgana in season 4 mentions that wings grows back over time. So for me, Galatea was never disabled, as I consider a condition a disability if it is for a long time, maybe even for the rest of your life. Galatea was just wounded for a brief time and Musa hastened the healing process. Thats how I feel about it. It would be like calling Deadpool when he loses a limb for a brief time.
I would at bare minimum, if presented with a magical solution, make sure that I could swim normally, as it is an activity I love, or get rid of this disability entirely because of my story with it that I dont wish share on RUclips, but that doesnt mean all disabled people would want that and that should be respected.
If you consider neurodivergence a disability, wich it can be in some cases, then thats a disability I dont want get rid of, so it is situational.
Plus, Icy's cruelty is why Galatea's wings were broken.
True, a huge theme in Winx Club is that good triumphs over evil, so Icy`s evil actions was undone by Musa`s good actions so it is in alignment with this series` themes.
A fairy without wings would probably be classified as 'temporarily disabled', like the one with a broken leg.

hi, im disabled (cerebral palsy) and i think that disabilities are better translated when it effects someone's life daily in small and big ways. so if a fairy loses her wings but she can still function easily, would be hard for non disabled people to understand what we struggle with. i had people come up to me saying im lucky that i can just sit all day and someone is taking care of me, but i cant even go to the WC by myself and sometimes there is no one around to help. some disabilities are not so visible that is true but in animation and film i feel like it needs to be seen to be understood. the good and the bad, like in the last airbender and dragon prince or josse the tiger and the fish. also im happy she got her wings back it gave me hope as a kid that i could fight to be more able (i hope this makes sense) Winx Club forever!
A really cool detail that I love about season 3 is that whenever the girls (except from Aisha) transform into enchantix their hair lineart switches from the usual black lineart to colored lineart,I wanted to have a headcanon that the girls having colored lineart for their hair from season 4 onwards (until season 7) meant that they are like full guardian fairies, but that doesn't work because
1. Aisha and icy had colored lineart for their hair from the begining.
2. Most of the characters from season 4 onwards had colored lineart for their hair, so in reality it was just an artistic choice
I am not disabled, so please disregard me if any real disabled people feel I am wrong.
But, I would think that it depends on the person when it comes to fixing their disability. I don’t think you’re wrong in assuming that the wound being fresh for Galatea is a reason for why she would want it fixed and thus, fixing it wouldn’t be an issue. But I also think of situations where blind people get surgery and all that and I would think it’s a similar situation here no matter how much time had passed.
It overall probably just depends on what the individual actually wants.

Edit: I got to the Galatea losing her wings part and as a disabled girlie myself (though mine was later in life) I thought I’d throw my two cents in. Personally, I don’t mind her getting her wings back, we’ve already established that healing is a thing in this season so it makes sense.
Instantly healing someone who has spent their life with a disability does feel a bit weird though cause they’ve obviously learned how to navigate life with it and your basically telling that person “Nah, you’re broken, let’s fix it”. I guess if it was offered as a choice and the person could turn them down then it’s okay but I can’t comment on it fully as I wasn’t born with my disability. I went from living life one way for 22 years to suddenly having to change everything in the span of a few days. If 22 year old me was offered an instant fix when my spine first went on me, I would of taken it. Me now at 29, I’ve lived with it and adjusted and I don’t really care that much now.
That being said, seeing a fairy who was born disabled or has spent a portion of their life disabled navigating the magical universe would be pretty cool.

It would be interesting to see someone with a temporary disability; her wings would eventually grow back, but Winx club isn't the correct show for it. I don't think the writers had the skill to do that type of storyline. They could barely do their characters of color justice.

sorry I'm a bit late to this one I just got home from vacation. it probably won't surprise you to find out that I thought this video was great! I'm sorry if my comments are getting repetitive, but the editing and humor this episode was just immaculate. I was so glad you touched on all of my favorite moments from the episodes 1: "It's gonna be the end alright, BUT NOT FOR US! 2:: "that was refreshing"! (I'm not sure why, but they are 2 of my favorite lines from the whole 4kids dub). Of course I've saved the best for last FARAGONDA VS VALTOR!!!
The other thing I wanted to touch on was something I hinted at in my last comment. As much as I love the little fight between the Winx and Sky, I wish There was a little more ( My comments are slightly less valid because since my last viewing of season 3 I forgot just how hard he went after the girls with the dragons and stuff in the previous episode) I think it would have been interesting if Valtor's mark would have given sky powers and he would fight the Winx that way especially if it ended with a 1 on 1 vs Bloom and believe it or not, there is a lot of evidence pointing to sky having the potential to learn magic.
1 i'm pretty sure he and Riven uses magic control the dragons during the dragon exhibition. The amount of effort they were putting behind the hand gestures especially After sicking their dragons on one another makes me think there is no way they are just normal hand signs.
2 In episode 1 it is stated that pretty much everyone in magic has magic and can use it however they please
3 Not to knock on Riven's accomplishment with the dragon, but being the prince of Erakleon, Sky probably has blood ties to some extremely powerful magic users in his lineage .Also yes i am aware that this would not guarantee Sky magic but it MIGHT increase his chances of having it even if it's dormant
4 it is never stated that any of the red fountain vehicles are charmed to let them past the magic barrier to Alfea nor that the barrier makes an exception for red fountain students yet they can enter as they please
5 Saladin a powerful magic user and as headmaster of red fountain it stands to reason he may teach a special magic course
6 Sky is regularly described as a prodigy to the point that Cortatorta often puts sky in charge of the most important missions als as a SOPHMORE so it stands to reason that if he did get magic he would learn how to use it quickly.
7 Helia also knows a little bit of magic being the origami bird trick he teaches flora and as far as we know he has not had any formal training in magic. so it shouldn't take Sky much to learn how to use his powers ( also yes this does clash with point 5 especially because Helia is Salidin's nephew , but I thought it was still worth a mention)
8 in season 4 , The Wizards of the Black Circle use their powers to give powers to Mitzi and her friends so there is no reason Valtor's mark shouldn't do the same for Sky

OK, as a disabled person, let me talk about the galataia scene: when Musa gave her back her wings that was sweet but probably not that necessary in the long run. For example my original character within my story I'm working on is a long lost princess with magic that is disabled. She was literally reborn that way due to evil forces messing with her and her mother. So in conclusion it was pretty bad the way they wrote this

39:17 As a deaf person (I use cochlear implants) I think what would be interesting is seeing how techno magic could replicate wings. Like how the fairy is still disabled, but they use tech to help them. There is an interesting conflict there as well due to being in the middle of the disabled community (for me I’m stuck between the deaf and hearing) and the able-bodied one.
The deaf example is that the deaf community is quite against cochlear implants and sees it’s as betrayal, however, the hearing people still see me as deaf when I tell them. It’s a very interesting conflict to explore and it’s a shame we didn’t see that :(

I met Lisa Ortiz at Sandusky Ohio a few weeks ago, and she's awesome in person, and she enjoyed her role as Icy in Winx Club.
Idk why I'm doing this here and not in the reaction of the episode when Bloom gets Enchantix but I'm going to rank the ways the girls earned Enchantix ,also I won't be counting Secret of the Lost Kingdom, only season 3
Worst- Boom: she didn't sacrifice anything, she just fought like she has always done, but she got incomplete Enchantix so I guess that's fair;
2nd worst- Musa: I think it was kinda done dirty, like was is really that difficult bringing Galatea out of the fire for her? It wasn't bad of course, leagues better than Bloomix, but compared to the others it was a bit underwhelming;
4th best- Stella: I liked the moment when she "sacrificed herself" for her dad, it just didn't gave me the same sensation that the top 3 gave me;
3rd best- Aisha: gaining her sight back was literally her mission, but she decided to not do that in order to safe Queen Ligea, and I loved this moment;
2nd best- Flora: I think Flora's Enchantix earning scene is underrated, because I never heard someone addressing it, like everybody talks about Tecna who nearly d1ed to save Andros and presumably all the magic dimension and about Aisha who sacrificed her sight for the life of Queen Ligea, but Flora? She literally dr0wned to save her little sister, Tecna was presumed d3ad, but Flora straight up stopped breathing, even if just for a few seconds;
1) Tecna- however for me is impossible not to put Tecna first, she really put her life on the line in order to save Andros, Aisha's planet, not even hers! I was confused about her earning Enchantix given that she should have saved someone from HER homeworld but I guess that if someone didn't stop the portal other planets such Zenith would have been in danger as well.
In the end, even if some sacrifices where better executed than others, I don't think that there was a Winx that got Enchantix without truly earning it (except Bloom but again, it was incomplete and she actually saved her homeworld in the movie), definitely better than doing backflips, singing in a cave, being Indiana Jones and just doing nothing while your fiance's ex tries to end your life... Right Bloomix?
