    Awesome pres- the amount of time and RnD the Realis line has is unprecedented: Spinbait 60 , Spinbait 60gradeA, Spinbait 62 Alpha , Spinbait Alpha 72, Spinbait 80, Spinbait 80GFIX, Spinbait 90 , and new Spinbait 100 that as much action as the Spinbait 80 (crazy) but it was pullled off. The amount trns won, checks cashed, top finishes from College to Tour Pro and actual records set Spybait are more than all other Spinbaits companies combined. The newest set of models come from the I-Class Series look for those as performance was increased (literally) across the models . This was done to stay way ahead of the competition.

    Ben, thanks for making this timely video. I found this very same lure on our lake drawdown a couple of months ago. I tried it on a baitcaster because it sinks so fast and had to reel it in fast. Our lake has a lot green algae growth. It seemed like the blades weren't spinning so I put it away; thought they were damaged when the previous owner got it snagged up. A fee days ago, I reinstalled the hooks and put it back into my tacklebox FOR ONE MORE CHANCE before keeping it OR ditching it. I'm on a highly pressured LMB lake here in Southern California. No smallmouth or northern species.

    Great video Ben I’ve been using these here on the south end of Lake Michigan for some time now. The biggest mistake I see people in my boat make is retrieving these baits to fast. And try not to throw sideways to the wind that bow in the line isn’t good for the bait to look natural. 👍👍 great job Ben !

    Been using this bait for a couple of years especially during the fall. Ben is right on with the techniques. If you saw his video he showed the slow retrieve - try and mimic that . Slower always works better than faster.

      Thanks Alan! Yes, especially when trying to learn the bait, you almost can’t reel it slow enough. It catches fish!

      So much more than just cast and wind. Once someone puts it in their hand and starts to learn some nuances that fit their style, it can work in various conditions and catch big bags. Thanks for watching Dave

      @brnowak_fishing love the stuff and I see alot of real familiar water on your channel, Was gone running Charterboats in the Keys for 18 yrs but back home in TC now and blessed with some pretty epic Brown Bass fishing but its like learning all over again and the game has progressed so far beyond what it was when I left

    Very effective application I use on smallmouth out here in Ontario. It's so effective I've taken the the Deps Calling Hustler spybait, beefed up the hooks and hardware, and use them for musky fishing. Incredibly effective

    Freaking love spybaits! My favourite version of the Duo Reakis is the 80 Shallow. Sinks slower at 6 grams but for bank fishing it's very useful. I put a blade treble on the back for that extra flash.

    Great video. I use it on St Lawrence but curious of your thoughts on its effectiveness if the water is not super clear.

    • @brnowak_fishing
      @brnowak_fishing  10 месяцев назад

      On bodies of water where it's naturally off colored, it will work equally as effectively. To me, water clarity is relative; so in normal or cleaner water than normal, fish are in tune with baits around them and can find them even when we may not consider the water that clear

    • @brnowak_fishing
      @brnowak_fishing  5 месяцев назад +1

      It depends which setup but for spinning rod it’s 8lb braid to 6lb fluoro. For baitcaster its 8lb fluoro

    @nawinchester 11 месяцев назад

    Still trying to figure this technique out. I'm either not fishing it in the right places, or the right time, or the right way, as I'm just not getting very many bites on this technique. That said, I've been pretty persistent with fishing this technique when I get out on the water. As we often say, confidence is a big thing with respect to fishing success and maybe I just don't have enough confidence in this bait yet to catch the numbers as I do on other baits

    • @brnowak_fishing
      @brnowak_fishing  10 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah, it took me a long time to understand how to really use it, but also have confidence that I was fishing it properly. My biggest learning was to slow the cadence and focus on those isolated pieces of cover. When you do that, you'll start to get bites and then you can really start applying it more places with confidence

    Hey Ben, quick question. Some spybaits have a split ring on the nose. do you take that off and tie directly to the wire loop or do you use a light snap to connect to the split ring? Thanks!

    • @brnowak_fishing
      @brnowak_fishing  11 месяцев назад +1

      I typically tie directly to the nose loop, but the ones I have don’t have split rings. It may depend on brand or model. I’d check how the bait falls and rate of fall, I don’t think a split ring is a bad thing, I just prefer straight connection

    Why are they called "spybaits?" Look like a topwater prop bait to me. Thank you for explaining.

    • @brnowak_fishing
      @brnowak_fishing  10 месяцев назад

      I'm not sure on where the name came from, but essentially the technique is known originally as "art of silent capture." I believe it originally came from modified Japanese lures by adding props to the bait to give it a unique action, and from there was developed into its own category

    Do random change of speed trigger bites on the followers?

    • @brnowak_fishing
      @brnowak_fishing  11 месяцев назад

      I’ve found most bites shortly after the initial fall, right past a piece of cover, or when the bait starts to turn upwards/direction change. Oddly enough I’ve not gotten on a good bite with speed change

  • @KissmyBasss
    @KissmyBasss 11 месяцев назад

    It must be a clear water bait, I'll try it again but in central OK the water is as clear as it will get now and I haven't seen many followers on AT2.

    • @brnowak_fishing
      @brnowak_fishing  11 месяцев назад

      I don’t think it’s necessarily a clear water bait, but a bait for regular clarity on your lake. Where it shines is when you have stable conditions and fish are in tune with the water clarity. The bait has enough drawing power to even be successful in less visibility as long as it’s “normal” for that body of water

    • @KissmyBasss
      @KissmyBasss 11 месяцев назад

      Thanks for the info, like the hover rig it just doesn't work for me. I do use 12lb leader to braid but back to water clarity..I've had some follows but not as aggressive as neko on suspended fish.

    • @williambryson2117
      @williambryson2117 11 месяцев назад +1

      12 lb. leader is way too heavy for a spy bait. I would use 6 lb. max, anything more kills the action. This is a finesse technique I use mostly when they won't bite anything else on those bluebird sky days.
