  • After our fabulous backpacking trip around Columbia and Peru we have our top 10 travel items that we wouldn't be without :
    1) Osprey fairview backpack 40L - Just the right size for me . Andy also got the 40 L Backpack from Osprey Europe unisex . They open at the top so you can see all your belongings . The straps can be zipped away allowing the rucksack to go on a plane or bus like a suitcase.
    2) Water to go water bottle - We hardly bought any water in plastic bottles just took from taps or streams . The filter gets rid of 99.9% of harmful bugs .
    3) Power bank - Veger 30000mAh 20W- A big power bank but worth it as it could charge my phone up to 10 times - Really needed when we were off grid for 4 days doing the Inka trek.
    4) Money belt from MYCARBON - Amazon - We wore this underneath a shirt/T carrying credit cards, dollars and passport. It was also waterproof although we didn't really test this out.
    5) Packing cubes from Cipway - Amazon - 5 set of compression cubes . This was great to organise and compress.
    6) Cross chest bag - Amazon - Found this really useful to carry my phone, lip balm and change purse. It can sit under your armpit if you feel that you are moving through an edgy location. - It was only £11.99 Amazon
    7) Lock - a small lock that we could use to lock a locker at a hostel or to lock the rucksack when travelling - Amazon
    8) Microfibre towel - Fit flip towel - Amazon - ultra light weight and fast drying. This was great for all the post waterfall dips we had.
    9) Change purse - I bought this on Amazon for £4.99 -Really useful for all the Sol or pesos you get as change and handy to carry one credit card rather than trying to get into your money wallet every 5 seconds .
    10) worldwide travel adapter - This adapter means you could can plug in anywhere with one plug and has has multiple charging sockets which is really useful when some hostels only have 1 plug socket.

Thinking of investing a Water to go bottle very handy, we found too much plastic water bottles floating around Asia when we travelled. We use most of what you recommend, its always a learning curve. Thanks for sharing 👍

      Hi Kathy
Thanks for comment. We stayed mostly in Hostels and used both booking.com and also Hostelworld app. Because we are a couple we always had a double room. |Our experience of the hostels we stayed in was really positive. Hope that helps
