Nice to see another Canadian making non-restricted firearm reviews! Hope bill-21 doesn’t screw us all outta our property and the ability to make content like this 🙏
I literally just purchased one from Canada’s gun store. Looking forward to it. Not sure if I would’ve made the purchase prior but after watching your videos, I decided to get it. Thanks for all the work you have put into this. Respect from Nova Scotia
I would like to see someone do a side by side comparison of the Crusader Arms Templar and the Black Creek Siberian. The action and accuracy, components.
How are things going with the rifle? I found a group on Facebook and some people have been having a few issues and there was an upgraded firing pin. I'm saving up for one. I'm glad you're reviewing this and giving some good first hand experience with it. Thanks!
I have been happy, similar controls to what I like and used to, it goes bang every time. The firing pin issue was solved in a week by BCL and no other issues to report yet. I'd recommend it at this point as I don't really have a reason not to. I know guys want to see 1000's of rounds, but I'm just sharing my experience as I go. I don't always have the time to get to the range and I like shooting other guns too.
Hey I recognize the range you are shooting at! If you ever wanted to try out and x95 let me know id be happy to lend you one for a video! Its hard to find other like-minded shooters like yourself so its good to know your local.
What I would give for a modern sporter :( I hope the RCMP lets them start production again. That or I'm going for the Raven 556. In the meantime I'll enjoy my Templar! Shes a bit thick but gets the job done.
Quick question in regards to the trigger guard, the one it comes with hurts so bad and I’m looking to buy a new aftermarket one. Is it considered to fit any other AR trigger guard? And if so which one would you recommend that can fill that nasty void that hurts your finger when your reloading Thanks man looking forward to another update.
I have seen others on the Facebook group using the magpul enhanced aluminum trigger guard and it seems to close that gap. I'll be ordering one shortly.
That particular one was from Aliexpress or Wish, I can't recall but works great for this purpose. I have a couple of the Precision Armament brakes in 223 and 308 with a matte finish. I just can't spend made in America money on everything.
Thank you for the positive feedback. Yes, for me it was a single layer of black electrical tape. So far the tape hasn't moved as lubricant doesn't seem to migrate there.
There are M-lok slots on the bottom and sides, 3, 6, 9 O'clock. Picatinny rail on the top. The Arca rail, hand stop and Picatinny rail on the bottom are all mounted with M-lok.
Great videos on the Siberian ! Just bought one and currently shopping for optic and mount. Wanting to go with a LPVO with good daylight visible illuminated reticle that won’t break the bank. Any suggestions on an optic and mount? Looking at American defense one piece mount that’s 1.93” height above rail. Like the idea of being heads up and not scrunched down with the Zhukov stock being in line with rail. Think that one piece mount height is enough or do you suggest adding an additional riser in there? Thanks I’m advance
I believe it is proprietary, but I thought the barrel nut threads might be AR standard. It might be possible to fit something else, but I have not tried and don't know how things might line up.
Would you say this firearm is more reliable than the Kodiak Defense wk180c Gen 2? Got rid of my Kodiak cuz I didn’t like how the piston rod bent so easily even after I upgraded the bushing
Great so far. From what I can see online, that was 1 user and 1 gas block and a new one was shipped out the next day as per Reddit. I have not heard of any other issues.
Yes, using the magazine as a rest can cause issues with the Siberian. I will try to post pictures of the magwells for comparison as it is not a concern with most other rifles, but I can't comment on the other 180 style rifles in Canada.
@@southernalbertaoutdoors Known issue with the 180s in general that all suffer from the same problem. I'm gonna get rid of mine. This nixes it for use as a competition rifle.
@Southern Alberta Outdoors I have access to an alternative but at the end of the day, this style rifle, with a nice thin handguard are best for 3 gun/dynamic rifle matches. A change in government indeed!
Did you get a new firing pin ? There’s a recall to get an update kit. Not supposed to shoot until the pin is replaced. There not much information on line but I did order the kit from bcl.
Yes, I have requested a new firing pin as well, but have yet to recieve it. I did a quick video on this a few days ago. This was all done prior to that announcement.
@@southernalbertaoutdoors Cheers! My favourite range to go to. It’s nifty having the 1000 meter or 800 whichever it is I can’t remember. Thanks for all the videos on this specific gun. Wouldn’t of been able to make a decision without it.
Oh another bandwagon reviewer, it's baffles me that all of the sudden everyone needs a tall optic mount, now I understand improvements but it's sounding robotic at this point...along w/much other stuff, enjoyed the rest of the video
As explained in the videos, this is mainly due to the relative height of the stock. The stock or comb height on the Siberian is higher than an AR. I don't like to squish my face, but I don't want a tower either.
Yes, these are classified Non-Restricted in Canada. They can be used in the bush, at a range or for varminting or hunting depending on provincial caliber restrictions for hunting. A firearms license or PAL is required to possess and aquire firearms in Canada. We desperately need a change in government before this one bans civilian ownership of firearms.
What kinda gun is the black one. I like how it looks. I was going to buy the Siberian but saw very few positive videos on it.. other than your videos. I will get it when they work out all the kinks. Hopefully gen 2

I will get into some other rifles and accessories.
This was absolutely epic. God-bless you, brother, for putting in the work and showing us how awesome this rifle is. ❤❤❤
You bet, thanks for watching.

I think we are all hoping for an election before any more bills pass, C21, C11, the budget, etc

I'm sure you'll like it, but likely a good idea to request then wait for a new firing pin.
probably a good idea to request a new gas block, they are breaking on everyone
@@internetexpert8153 I don't know if 1 person counts as everyone, but we'll see with some time.
Looks very soft shooting
I'm a huge fan of my Siberian. Great review!
Appreciate these detailed updates while i save up for my next rifle. Def goin for a 180 variant
I’d stay well clear of the WK and MCR if you’re going 180.
@Johnny Gooch when i first got my licence i wanted an mcr but once i seen the siberian and how skinny and better looking it is compared i was in love
Nice video. Enjoyed that. Thanks for posting!
Thanks for watching

What is the other rifle on this video?, are you going to make a video of it? Thanks 👍
You running down the range was awesome reminded me of warzone game play
Awesome, it was super slippery so I'm glad it didn't look too slow.

@@southernalbertaoutdoors thank you so much man
Great video. Out of curiosity, what kind of muzzle brake do you have on the gun? Or is it the stock one that comes with it?
It only comes with a thread protector. This is a clone of the Precision Armament M-11 brake.
@@southernalbertaoutdoors where did you get it from? Or was it built

Great update review. Thank you. Did you just use electrical tape on the upper and lower to tighten it up a bit, or what kind of tape?
Thank you for the positive feedback.
Yes, for me it was a single layer of black electrical tape. So far the tape hasn't moved as lubricant doesn't seem to migrate there.
What did you install underneath to mount a light or grip or bipod ? M-Lock to Picatinny adapter ? Thanks

I think the 1.93 mount is good. Take a look at Primary Arms for an LPVo, or lots like Vortex.
Now everyone is going to be getting one
Which Lar-15 magazines are you using that clip together on the bottom like that?
Not sure if you mentioned it but how did you get rid of the wiggle play from the upper to lower ? Thanks
A piece of electrical tape on the upper right behind the rear takedown pin.
I’m looking at BCL or crusader arms Templar I think this made my decision any thoughts on crusader?
Seems to be a tank, I just wanted something lighter.
Is the handgaurd proprietary? Or can other ar handgaurds fit?
I believe it is proprietary, but I thought the barrel nut threads might be AR standard. It might be possible to fit something else, but I have not tried and don't know how things might line up.
Does this have the new firing pin from BCL? I heard there was an emergency recall and a do-not-use order until replaced
This was all filmed prior to the firing pin announcement. My pin is in the mail.
Would you say this firearm is more reliable than the Kodiak Defense wk180c Gen 2? Got rid of my Kodiak cuz I didn’t like how the piston rod bent so easily even after I upgraded the bushing
I'm sorry I can't comment as I don’t have the Kodiak or any other 180 style to compare.
hows ur gas block? seems they are splitting right up the middle for everyone

How did you get permission to shoot 556 at the pistol range?@@southernalbertaoutdoors
I thought Trucastro outlawed AR style rifles.
He's trying to ban them all, but not yet.
Wondering if the mag over insertion problem will also cause an issue while shooting prone and using the mag as a brace

It is not. Anything AR15 is currently prohibited at least until we get new government.
