he's accurate to the G1 cartoon and hes a really nice figure, just needs more paint
It's like the Studio Series toyline used all of Hasbro's paint budget.
I love his jet mode. It gets a lot of crap for being blocky, but if you look at it as if it were a ship from No Man's Sky, it really does look like something the ship building algorithm would spit out. I really love the figure, though I wish his ape arms and legs had a bit more articulation, especially bicep swivels and universal hips.
Yeah, i at least wanted him to beat his pecks like a real ape

Getting this dude for Christmas, probably gonna go over him with some fine point Sharpie pens to bring out some detail, otherwise I really love the figure!

Same here, I don't know much about Apeface, besides the headmaster gimmick and his triple charger modes. But base on this Siege figure, I agree that he looks like a figure that should have been released for Titans Return. That aside, the red/black/purple painting on this figure is cool, but the candle white color wash away the molded details. His jet mode, body is to big for the wings. Ape and robot modes, they looks fine. But I do wish that his ape head was the only head for the figure. Since his name is Apeface.
His bricky jet mode is accurate to G1 and his apemode is as well
I can understand the dislike towards this figure, especially if they are unfamiliar with the original. However, as someone who is familiar with the original, I can say that this does a fairly good job at modernizing the original’s jet mode. (The original’s jet mode was a bit wonky too.) I can’t defend the paint issues though. I personally love this figure and I can’t wait to get his partner to complete my Horrorcons.
Yeah the only thing i dont like about the jet is that i wish it was less wide to make the wing span look longer

personally I use the titans return apeface head on the voyager and for some reason it actually makes the figure look a lot better in robot mode .
I like it. He was in the The Rebirth 3 -part G1 season 4 in the US.
I just bought this figure at 2022. And love it lol Ape face looks good with his buddy snap dragon.

This is a great review of the G1 Siege version of G1 Apeface, Prime vs Prime! I finally bought Apeface off of Ebay earlier today!
Why? Amazon had him for the average voyager price, i just got him yesterday

I think it would be a good idea to sand down the the shield's peg so it fits in looser

This guy feels more like a left over Titan’s Return figure than a Siege one. Definitely the weakest Voyager class to date in Siege.

He was literally one of the first deception head masters he's awesome
The gun doesn’t fit anywhere other than the hands on mine. The gun handle peg is too small making it too loose to fit in any of them properly. Also, the wings are supposed to point down in ape mode, not up.

Sadly, it won't be happening. They've already begun their Earth-based line-up. Also, PVP mentioned that Apeface is Hasbro's last Siege voyager, and no voyager Onslaught is no fuego :(
TheBrandonRobert well the war for Cybertronian line is a trilogy so it’s still a possibility
I'd be up for an Optimus Primal out of this.

He is definitely accurate to his g1 appearance
I like his front robomod view, and process of the transformation to this mod, but his altmodes aren’t really good.
If i do get him i would probably just replace the white parts with 3d printed ones

Me too. I just don't like the mold. So is the Nightbird figure because it's a repaint with a new head. The deluxe fembot mold is the worst of the deluxes in the line. In my opinion
Hot shot is my least favorite. He looks more like a custom than an actual retail figure
....my favourite.

Lol right!? He's so pissed this entire review. Super obnoxious.
He's not the least bit wrong. Square with wings. Tailfin breaks off at the peg. Gun isn't securely snug. Ape head is a mess. Distressed paint job when his partner, Snapdragon, doesn't have it. Should have two guns, one for each wing, instead of a single gun obscuring the teeth showing from under the nosecone (which is the nicest part of the jet mode), which would make it look less like a square.

There is a fan theory that Siege Apeface's unnamed Titan Master is actually Spasma, Apeface's old headmaster partner. And guess what, Hasbro has confirmed that said fan theory is true!!!

I REALLY want to like this guy but there's just something about him that I can't get on board with. For one, just get rid of the jet mode. Ditch the wings. Ditch the cockpit. Maybe then we'll talk, but until then... ah. I'm already not into this lineage of G1 figures as they come from an era that I couldn't give less of a damn about, and Hasbro didn't really do a great job at remastering his original image.
It's an update to his G1 figure for sure but a little bit of refining never killed anybody.
