What is very interesting to me from today, and since they've been moving rather slowly it's not gonna be much but... You brought up an interesting point as it comes to recollection. I do have the idea only few people actually heard her say anything other than "is he dead?" on the account that there's not a chance everyone testifying to what she said exactly had the time and/or attention required to take such a statement accurately themselves being there's a resuscitation going on with a far higher priority. But Katie was specifically tasked to speak to her 1 on 1 so she heard things, then I think she told others and their recollection over time kind of edited that into the memory to make it make sense I think that's what happens. I mean this happens all the time right we've all got our moments where our memory got slightly edited based on information we've gotten after the fact and then when we talk to others that were in the same situation the memories don't really line up perfectly anymore. So working from that line of thought, most EMT's testimony on what Karen said would be as credible as Katie's own testiment since it would be her testimony effectively subconciously engrained in their own memories.
Now Katie's testimony yesterday showed there was definitely something sketchy going on with her recollection of things. I wouldn't even have considered it relevant that she was highschool buddies with one of the involved people's daughter way back. But then she started trying so hard to manuevre around the fact and grasp for semantics. No we're not CLOSE friends, we're not ONE TO ONE friends, that wasn't the question dear Katie. The question was friends. We can argue what friendship means to you or what it means to me and whom we're willing to call friends or not. But based on the pictures she did confirm she went a good bit past "just acquaintances" as she tried to paint it. I've got neighbours and friends of my mom who I definitely consider myself acquainted with since I know them and if need be one can come to the other party and ask a favor without too much guilt. But I wouldn't go to the beach and take pictures where my arm is around them in bikini (though to be fair nobody wants to see my buddha bod in a bikini lol consider that a favor already). Her very act of trying to cover that up gives it significance to me because if it truly were nothing I wouldn't be so scared to own up to that being rather confident it really shouldn't matter anyway from so long back. I mean it's not open and shut case from there but it is definitely plausible enough for me to call it reasonable doubt which the prosecution is going to need to wipe away still if they want to make this case.
Now today we've heard a guy that talked to her in a more calm state that actually heard her say a lot more stuff because he had to evaluate her for that (section 14 they called it??) scenario that was being called for. Now he clearly had an independant more calm and concious talk with Karen taking note of exactly what she said and trying to figure out why. According to him she already flapped out she was going to hurt herself which later she said was only because of the grief. Now he testifies that she said "COULD I have hit him?" and while prosecution tried to make clear she never said that was also said as a result of distress, just because she didn't explicitly say it does not necessarily mean it isn't true. So now we're left wondering two things about this. Did she even mean it at all? And if she meant it, why does he testify that she's asking if she could've, and Kathie testifies that she stated she did.
So in conclusion then I think if the only two true testimonies on that matter are Kathie and the Section 14 guy. They made rather conflicting statements Kathie's a bit more incriminating than the other. I like Kathie's credibility far worse than the other guy because she's shown significant conflict, willingness to manuevre around the facts, and on multiple occassions her story has evolved so to speak I forgot to mention before so I'll take his word over hers any day here and that's not even considering that he had far more attention and care for the situation than she had because we was evaluating her as his psychiatric patient at the time whereas she was just getting a situational report from her as a distraught witness. The only conclusion I can draw from that is that it is not very likely she actually admitted to comitting any crime. I would hang the jury before I let a decision rest upon that weak of an "admission of guilt".

Context… how many people under traumatic grief say ‘they can’t carry on’ and feel as if they want to end it… I bet if she had been male they would not of issued a psych 12… it’s incredible how they did this to someone who was at a tragic accident! Even the medics thought it was not justified.

If for some reason the jury decide she hit him and killed him unintentionally.. can she still be tried for murder if she was seen making life saving efforts when it was determined for him to still be viable?

When I crashed my motorcycle, the "safety glass" on the road had no problem shooting right through my clothes. For just the road rash scrapes, it tore the clothing kind of like how you'd tear open a wrapper but the glass made a pretty clean hole through every article of clothing it passed through. The deepest piece of glass went through my A shirt, through my bra, and embedded itself a couple of inches into my boob. I am able to estimate how deep it went into my boob because I was watching as they dug it back out of my boob. They ended up giving me the tweezers they used to get it out because they weren't removing all of the glass that was embedded so I told them I needed something like that to help me dig the rest of them out later (which I did for quite a few of them). You might think this must have been an accident that happened on the freeway but, no, it was on a side road and I had only been going 35 mph.

Wow that's so crazy! Thanks for sharing. I do see the difference of he would have been standing or possibly walking and the car only whatever speed it could have gotten up to when you hit reverse. But I guess prosecution is alleging she intentionally hit him to kill him. So maybe they will argue she was a distance away and speed up to a fast speed before she hit him.

    • @whoever6458

@@origamikiddo2625 That's true. In that case, I'd want to know whether she regularly backed in to park and stuff like that because most of us don't drive as well in reverse as we drive going forward. Also, I was tossed from my motorcycle right onto asphalt with "safety glass" on it from the big accident from the person the drunk hit right before she took me down. I was thrown off and didn't hit anything but the pavement. I don't know for sure, but it has to be much more forgiving on the body to fall in snow and there's nothing around the scene that should have caused the injuries that he had. There's definitely something not right about this case and more than a few somethings, at least in my opinion.
