Small ass battery, same one on the original Moto Z which had extremely bad deterioration issues, and the phone is gonna have all mid tier specs for $1500. I understand that the flexible oled panel probably costs more, but it ain't that much more. All these manufacturers gonna keep raising prices and be shocked when people stop buying in the masses.
Agreed While yeah you don’t really get one big screen with them combined, the fact that this works much better, and the screens are glass rather than weak soft plastic that will get covered in scratches in a few days, this is a much better real world solution. This is also water and dust resistant unlike folding display phones as well (And this is definitely more durable for the occasional drop too) The folding screen, while futuristic looking, just is not anywhere near durable enough for actual real world use. And it doesn’t seem like there will be any way to fix the problems that come with a flexible screen. The soft plastic screen of a flexible display being the worst of the trade offs. Zyad48 Samsung fold is difficult technology. Foldable screen is the future. That lg was done by Nintendo more than a decade ago.
@@theplug4981 I know, I'm just saying that for what tech we got _now_ this implementation is already better than the fold's first foray lol.
I also don't think foldable phones are really going to catch on that well, the fact of the matter is that they're inherently much more fragile even when they haven't made the mistakes the fold has made, that and their high pricepoint inherent in being a _new_ and difficult technology will lead to "budget options" probably being even more fragile than the flagships. Fact of the matter is with a single screen, non-folding phone, it's got a decent amount of advantages for durability, with a hinge, a fold in the middle of the screen, heavier weight and a plastic screen, foldable phones are going to be fragile, and if you bought one for $2000, really, are you going to take it out with you? Hell would you even let someone else hold something like that? I don't know, maybe I'm wrong, but I doubt this whole "Foldable" thing is going to become that popular.

The Moto patented design that might be coming out at the end of q4 2019 looks promising. Problem is, Moto sucks now. Small ass battery, same one on the original Moto Z which had extremely bad deterioration issues, and the phone is gonna have all mid tier specs for $1500. I understand that the flexible oled panel probably costs more, but it ain't that much more. I mean, the Galaxy flagships have had semi flex oled for 3 years now, all these other phones are getting waterfall displays. On top of that, the actual screen is plastic on these phones. All these manufacturers gonna keep raising prices and be shocked when people stop buying in the masses.
Agreed
While yeah you don’t really get one big screen with them combined, the fact that this works much better, and the screens are glass rather than weak soft plastic that will get covered in scratches in a few days, this is a much better real world solution.
This is also water and dust resistant unlike folding display phones as well
(And this is definitely more durable for the occasional drop too)
The folding screen, while futuristic looking, just is not anywhere near durable enough for actual real world use.
And it doesn’t seem like there will be any way to fix the problems that come with a flexible screen. The soft plastic screen of a flexible display being the worst of the trade offs. When a fingernail is able to permanently scratch the screen of your phone...yeah that is not good lol
