COBB Tuning - Flash Kit and Calibrations for 2022+ Subaru BRZ and Toyota GR86

- The Subaru BRZ and Toyota GR86 are very good right out of the box, but also lend themselves perfectly to tuning and performance upgrades. Enjoying either of the 86 twins on the track benefits hugely from tuning and this is the best ECU tuning solution available to turn up an otherwise stock car. While power increases are minimal, the implementation of COBB Custom Features significantly improve both performance and drivability when at or near the limit.

The valet option is tempting ever since a subaru employee took my car for a joyride before telling me they couldn't do my alignment because it's lowered.
Have an accessport on my girlfriend's 2016 STI and a ECUTEK on my 2018 brz ts. I will say that ECUTEK is less intuitive at first, but still user friendly. In the end they both get the job done. I think it's very nice that you are putting efforts in the Twins platform

Answered my prayers ❤
Awesome!!!!👏
Thanks!!
neat. not sure my VA WRX performs at its best w/the 93 octane I have in Ohio. Tail pipes are so black; running rich must be a normal thing, so much so, I've given up on cleaning my exhaust tips
This is probably a no, but for the AT, does this provide those users with an option to disable the 4K RPM downshift prevention when using paddles? Most know it as the "Beep" you hear when going into a breaking zone and trying to downshift to higher RPMs, but the car currently prevents this locking it at 4K RPM until a certain speed is reached. Obviously in the MT, this doesn't exist so apologies for any confusion!
Hey there! That is a function of the Transmission Control Unit so we are not able to manipulate that behavior through the ECU.

Do tunes like 93 octane stage 1 remove the rev hang or improve throttle response issues these cars have or will I need to have a tune custom made for this
Hey there! We did not change throttle behavior from factory.
Any news as to when this will be available for the automatic?
Available for AT vehicles now as well!
When will they make turbo or procharger for it?
Nothing forced induction planned at the moment.
Does this work in Canada with the 91 and 93 ?
As long as it has ~10% ethanol, yes!
can I still run the 91 tune with an hks cold air intake
Our calibrations are intended to be used on an otherwise stock car. Changing the intake will likely require calibration changes. - Marshall@COBB
Does it come with auto rev match?
We did not include that feature in the included Stage 1 calibrations.
No pop tune with this?
Correct, we do not offer pops/crackles with our tunes.
If I order this , and want to use the stage 1 93, do i still need to go to a mechanic for a tune ? Or can I plug it up from home and thats it?
This includes the COBB Stage 1 calibrations. You would be able to install/flash on your own!
@@cobbtuning I put a axleback exhaust, and a grimmspeed maf hose, running stage 1 should be fine right ? No mechanic needed
Can you play with cold start level and duration?
Those are not end-user adjustable with our calibrations.
@@cobbtuning can it be requested?
Will this void warranty in California?
This kit and the included calibrations carry a CARB EO and are legal for use in all 50 states. Warranty is a bit more tricky - it cannot be outright voided, but if a dealer determines a failure to be caused by a modification they can deny warranty coverage.
Marshall@COBB
Can pop tune be added ?
We do not offer that type of calibration. Custom tuning is possible on the EcuTek platform via one of their authorized tuners.
Will the tune remove the CEL if I install an aftermarket set of headers?
Just use Defouler
The provide Stage 1 tunes do not have any DTCs disabled.
I could just buy a tune off DeliciousTuning and such while using the Cobb Kit, right? Thank you!@@cobbtuning
Is it possible to get 94 octane tune?
We do not have plans to add a map specific to 94 octane. We often see this question in regards to 94 octane fuel in Canada that behaves more similarly to 91 octane. I recommend starting with the 91 octane maps and if things perform well to try the 93. - Marshall@COBB
Can this be used to tune if you have a turbo or SC?
We do not include any calibrations that would support a turbo or supercharger application so you would need to have the car custom tuned. You can use the same dongle but would need to purchase the appropriate license credits from your tuner.
@@cobbtuning Could the traction control settings be kept after tuning for forced induction? My main gripe with this is its oem traction control.
Will this work for auto brz now?
We are wrapping up some on-car testing for the AT cars and hope to make those maps available next week.
@@cobbtuning sounds great!!
Does this OBD2 dongle also work with apps like OBDLink or Torque Pro?
Hey there! Not something we have tested, but we do not believe so.
@@cobbtuning Ah bummer. Thank you for the reply!
