I RECALL reading Peters' book decades ago, and if my memory serves me correctly, Fritz Peters, fresh from the war front, had arrived at Gurdjieff's Paris residence unannounced in a very poor PTSD state. Upon seeing his condition, Gurdjieff, in a meditative state, held a glass of water in both hands for several minutes, then handed the glass to Fritz to drink. Fritz Peters found himself miraculously rejuvenated and brimming over with energy within minutes, while at the same time Gurdjieff was drained of energy. Gurdjieff never fully recovered from his accidents especially his 1924 accident... and they were not "really quick recoveries". But through Gurdjieff's will of force, he was able to bounce back (though not fully) quicker than normal for such serious injuries. This "video biography" is misleading as to who and what Gurdjieff was. Any special esoteric talents Gurdjieff possessed and employed on occasion were incidental to his main objective which was to awaken a segment of "sleeping humanity" (which is virtually every human on Earth) who held a true wish and desire to awaken. Gurdjieff was not put on Earth to entertain people with parlor tricks. To say that Gurdjieff was deeply spiritual is an understatement.
Peter Ouspenky's book is usually recommended to those interested learning about the Gurdjieff "Fourth Way" Teaching. I recommend people new to the ideas to read Kathryn Hulme's "UNDISCOVERED COUNTRY" and perhaps, "The Teaching of Gurdjieff" by C.S.Nott. Both were students of Gurdjieff at different periods. I believe they provide a better introduction to the Gurdjieff ideas and teaching than delving into Ouspensky's book, which is a daunting & complex read. eBay always has both of those books available used. The Hulme book is out of print, The Nott books should still be available in paperback. Peace & love. namaste'

Thank you! I am in the Theosophical Society in New Zealand and have been studying and practicing the Gurdjieff work for many years. This year I will be doing my first public theosophical talk on the teachings of Gurdjieff. I am deeply appreciative of this video and your efforts in explaining Gurdjieffs powers.

Blavatzki, Rudolf Steiner and many others (Krsihnamurti was as prodigy child for them, but he left them after a while) who all started the ancient Mystic studies and teaching to bring t all together founded the Theosophical Society. I hope I am right. I just read it about in Rudolf Steiner his Life book. But also you find connections to it always when studying Western Mystic teachings.

Very good content. Gurdjieff had many siddhis. He demonstrated them mostly to close students. Some of the more spectacular powers were bilocation and his appearances to students & family after his death. Some pupils claim he could travel back in time and that he accessed his historical knowledge and Cosmology this way. He could see the past life of students and also foretold the future to individuals.

    • @CrazyLinguiniLegs

Where did you hear about him appearing to students and family after his death? Before I read your comment, I had never heard anyone claim that. I had also never heard the claim that he could travel back in time and see his students’ past lives. Do you mind sharing where you heard/read these things?

George was not his real name but only the international form, which was actually Giorgy"Giorgi" that's most common male name in Georgia,
Gurdjieff was originally from Georgia as he also considered himself as descendant of Georgian royal family which is Bagrationi dynasty.
And Gurdji "Gurji" in Turkish means Georgian. and one more fun fact, he used to study in Theological academy with Stalin who was also Georgian.

Thank you for the time the contributor put into this. However I couldn't watch it to completion because it lacked a professional standard. The sound kept changing, and the narrator needs some practice. He said "Umm" way too many times, and speech was a bit rocky. It's best to have a script written and read off of that.

Although we can’t doubt the man ultimate intentions by the sheer amount of proofs his life throws , his students and followers are in another dimension of purpose,
Unknown to his literature the focus are in Many to come up with contradictory statements between themselves about the man’s life, which anyhow is completely irrelevant for the purpose he was carrying out. Your own personal life! Loosing the eyes on the ball to listen to what fairy tales make in parallel.
Don’t mean the man wasn’t in comparison, extraordinary to even nowadays higher standards (if that’s where we’re heading) , but himself says to focus on your own work and not his own work!

“One thing magicians do is to lie. Not to mislead, but instead to show the ways (lead) that otherwise words tend to fail to convey. Which is another way of hypnosis. One that lasts through time. The idea is not to show the truth (impossible task to a faulty “machine” to grasp) but the kinder illusion that serves the purpose for our perception to “herd in other greener pastures”.”

    Law of Sevenfoldness:
    Title: The Sevenfold Shuffle
    (Verse 1)
I woke up with an idea, a notion in my head,
A seed of change, a brand new plan, to rise up from my bed.
This potential held within, it tingled with delight,
Stage one, the dream begins, a future burning bright.
    (Chorus)
Sevenfold, the cosmic dance, a rhythm through and through,
From formless thought to fruitful chance, there's magic to pursue.
We explore, we experiment, we take ahold of fate,
The universe a symphony, in seven acts we create.
    (Verse 2)
The seedling bursts through doubt and fear, stage three, we break on through,
We gather all the tools we need, to see this dream come true.
With trials faced and lessons learned, the path begins to gleam,
Stage four, we take the lead, and turn our vision into a stream.
    (Chorus)
Sevenfold, the cosmic dance, a rhythm through and through,
From formless thought to fruitful chance, there's magic to pursue.
We explore, we experiment, we take ahold of fate,
The universe a symphony, in seven acts we create.
    (Bridge)
The work unfolds, the branches reach, the goal is in our sights,
Stage five, the form takes shape, and bathed in golden light.
The seeds we sowed begin to sprout, the harvest now draws near,
Stage six, the time of consequence, both triumph and career.
    (Chorus)
Sevenfold, the cosmic dance, a rhythm through and through,
From formless thought to fruitful chance, there's magic to pursue.
We explore, we experiment, we take ahold of fate,
The universe a symphony, in seven acts we create.
    (Outro)
And when the circle finds its end, we return whence we came,
Stage seven, a perfect blend, to start the game again.
The sevenfold, a mystery, a dance for all to see,
So let your dreams take flight and grow, and forever free!
