Ford investor statement: So, we are trying not to go bankrupt this year and we might actually make it.
Tesla investor statement: So, this is how we improved on everything and we continue to do so at a rapid pace.
And we have enough money to easily afford several more gigafactories at this very moment
That's the difference between honesty and deceit.
You cannot even talk about competition anymore....... there is Tesla and then there is the rest competing against each other and fighting for survival....
And yet they conspired to make it dull dull dull!! The definition of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
This is why who heads a company, family, or nation is so important.
Great work to get this down to 28 minutes. Captured most of the key points.

I also don't understand why most people don't seem to understand sustainability. I'm blown away by all the details that were revealed. No one can stop Tesla making a sustainable world now
@@anthonyarcher7268 How come any car company has not done it yet then?
Corruption, politics, and a history of not making sensible decisions.
@@anthonyarcher7268 Any car company can do this is pretty similar to anyone can become the world richest person.
It is technically correct yet so wrong.
You too can become a multi-billionair, too. You know?
A Toyota corolla is 20k cheaper then a model 3.
@@paulomoniz7326 true but that's probably the problem they are looking to address with the Mexico factory / new unnamed / unannounced vehicle, or at least that's what they spent a lot of time alluding to.
Anyone who thought Tesla was just a car company, this should be a massive wake-up call for what’s coming. There will be companies out there that are sprinting to catch Tesla that are just seeing them disappear over the horizon. I don’t care that the next gen vehicle was not shown or even announced, because Tesla are building the sound base from which they will only accelerate. They are building in extraordinary efficiencies throughout their business. As an engineer at the late stage of my career, I can’t tell you how much I wish I could be a young engineer again for a second go around in this industry. Truly inspiring if you understand it. The short term coke heads on Wall Street won’t, but they to will be swept aside in time by AI.
And there's only a few companies sprinting, most are just sitting on their ass looking the other way.
Brian, you are right but people don't get this sort over wholistic vision.
Ditto.
The sad thing is that we are used to short term planning and reward… instant gratification. Tesla is looking 50 to 100 years into the future and planning long term. Reminds me of Japan after the WWII to rebuild their country. This was a great presentation. Thanks for the highlights Rob!
Tesla events filter people with short attention spans 🙂
But I bet with you, investors investing now will see latest in ten years from now their TSLA multiplied - my guess tenfold or more.....
I think the problem is nothing new was said. If you follow the company, you already knew all this. So in that light it is quite underwhelming. On the other hand, if you follow the company, you also already knew that no new car was coming as they are already having problems scaling for cybertruck and semi. What's the point of adding another car? Only to have it delayed as usual.. So maybe it's good they kept it vague.
@@Tegneaufreak " If you follow the company, you already knew all this." Well, no, I didn't know *all* of it, and I think I follow it closer than most. I definitely didn't know about the new idea of how to build the cars twice as fast in about half the floor space. I had figured out one way they could do that, and a lot of it was close to their description. A lot of the other stuff was more or less known, but the detail presented was important.
The fact that Tesla really planned and executed towards a goal of selling 20 million cars at such an early stage is beyond insanity. And to witness that plan "quickly" comes to fruition. I'm actually investing everything but my emergency fund into this stock. No public company on earth can execute like Tesla. None.
I shouldn't have been surprised, I thought I knew all this stuff already; but, my oh my, the ambitions of this company... and the ability to pull it off.
Rates rising and overall savings collapsing. What could go wrong
@@killap3nguin daniel, they’re they’ve obsoleting every other competitor and succeeding regardless of macro mayhem. It’s other automakers’ worst nightmare
20 million is only 20% of car sales. They need to maintain 40 to 50% market share.
@@jondotcom8706 Obsoleting every other competitor 🤣
I was impressed; obviously, everyone wants specs for the next gen and cybertruck, but there was plenty of good details that showed why Tesla is miles ahead of the competition.
Yes, was disappointed about lack of product details, but the details about their process and getting to see some of the other leaders in the company more than made up for it. After getting to see these other people on the team, I begin to wonder if Elon being distracted by Twitter was actually helping Tesla... uh, I guess I was really impressed. Damn, I feel like a cult member... No, I don't just feel like a cult member, I am a cult member. Elon offered me Kool-Aid, and I gladly drank it. Probably not a healthy mental state, but it sure is fun.

Saw the whole 4 hours live yesterday (while multi-tasking at my desk). Was well worth it! Amazing insights into Tesla's RELENTLESS drive for efficiency in all aspects of its operations!
While some youtubers say this was some boring presentation and Teslaq presentation, I only see growth rates going exponential, especially on Tesla energy business. And next gen platform I think will impact more the S3XY lines than a new car. Good job Rob summarizing 👏
They wanted entertainment, but they got reality. Haha, Tesla is so nerdy... And mercilessly efficient.

Yes! Everything sounds great! In my Ukraine, solar and wind power plants worth several billion dollars were built over the past 10 years! Awesome. Thanks Rob. This will be disappointing for some but it's not a flashy product reveal event. Those get their own events. For me it reaffirms Tesla maximizing their advantage. Speed, scale, and cost efficiency working in concert. I'm stoked. I also can't wait for a Tesla heat pump.
People that were appalled by the nerdiness of all this and want a more polish product, should go watch Toyota, or GM, or Volkswagen... While they still can. 😁
It is disappointing to me because they still haven't reached their Battery Day goals almost 3 years after battery day. I hope they can execute better on these new plans.
@@PeterIsza Same for autonomy. Nothing. He's standing there and claiming how far they are ahead. Everyone can claim that.
Same for Tesla bot. Okay it's kinda impressive it can walk now, but hell BD does that for what? 15 years now.
Not super impressed. However they got down cost reduction and efficiency, that's for sure.
@@Ample17 I have a different feeling towards autonomy. My biggest concern is that haven't been using AI for control until now. Only for perception. WTF! This means that disengagements don't train shit.
4680... I don't know. BYD has already hit Tesla's 100 GWh/yr goal with their structural LFP pack. And they are working on sodium ion already. Sodium ion IS the perfect battery for Megapacks, NOT lithium ion.
This makes it hard for me to decide which company will become the energy superpower: Tesla, BYD or CATL.
Even though I am a straight male, I might diversify this time.
@@PeterIsza That last line 💀
Valid concerns. 4680 IS another topic I'm indeed a little disappointed by. Basically they didn't manage to deliver on the promise of more range and higher energy density yet. In fact it has less density and less range then already existing conventional batteries. Tesla fans tend to overlook these things a little too easily for my taste.
Brain exploded. What a magnificent group of engineers

Reducing cost by 50% is huge

Big business thinks of people as sheep, it's easy to steer people in the direction you want, with just a few persuasive claims. Do anything, say anything to make a sale.
Sheep think of people who offer to trade your time for money as big businesses.
If u fail to think critical and fail to learn and make yourself aware that will happen,

Kudos, Rob!! This captures the essence in a digestible size that I can share with friends that wouldn't sit through the whole three hours.
Thanks for being part of Farzad's event Rob! I hope you will have an opportunity to talk more with him on his channel since you are a great numbers guy and discuss the financial impact of what we saw last night. Safe travels on your way back home from Austin!
Thanks for the supercut. Great work as always. I did not watch the whole Q and A session. Did I miss anything essential?
Very relieved that I've been proved right when I said that it would make no sense for Tesla to announce a new model. A 25k small car would have to be made at a scale which Tesla just can't do at the moment. They would end up having to raise the price to about the same as a model 3 to control demand. What they have shown here is that they understand how to get to the sort of volume production which is going to be necessary for the next gen vehicle. In fact I think the Cybertruck will be built like this and I think Cybertruck volumes will surprise us.
The new platform will most likely be manufactured in 2024 and probably be announced Q3 or Q4 of this year.
@@mrnobody8442 I think It's more likely to be 2025. Factories come first.
Yep, Gen 3 will require a new factory design so not until a new factory is built will it make sense to present a new model.
It is definitely worth to look at the whole presentation. The achieved and coming efficiency gains are just crazy in a time when legacy auto struggle to improve 1% Tesla improves 10-30% annually and from a leading position. I have no doubt they will get to 20M and beyond.
Great supercut!
Thanks, Rob.
If Tesla had just presented this supercut rather than the epic version, the stock would be up today. 😂
Thanks for your work on summarizing the event. I watched the entire thing and this was a great recap. They got into the weeds for a lot of the people who were expecting some circus event but if you stop and wrap your head around what was said then you realize how profound it really is. Getting to a sustainable future should be on everyone’s mind not just for the planet but for the greater efficiency and the air we breathe….all while not sacrificing performance.
how is tesla helping the planet lmao
Thanks Rob, enjoyed your thoughts in Munro panel disco
Can't wait to see what nuggets of this presentation you dive into. This was just mind blowing and overwhelming to think about. It's hard to grasp what can be achieved when something has never been achieved before, yet they make it seem as if it's not that difficult with just some critical thinking and effort (by everyone). Unfortunately, not everyone on earth will have their same vision and that's where the time frame will take longer if they have to do it themselves... Hope you were able to enjoy the event to the fullest! As always, appreciate the work you do for the community Rob!
Thanks for this edit Rob! Just the facts… I love it!

Just rewatching this, I think it might be a bus/public transportation type vehicle and if so it may be something implemented 10+yrs later or for larger cities/countries. To not take to much from there own lineup
Thanks Rob! I thought the most important part was the discussion of how they're designing the next vehicle with automation, manufacturing, and engineering (?) in mind. Clearly a step above the competition

@@Steve-Richter Sales and reservation numbers beg to differ. They sell every car they can make, and they must build new factories every year to sell even more. If you mean "some potential buyers" then that's of course correct. You can't please everyone. Tesla cars and trucks please a lot of people.
