    Quite remarkable!
    The government commenced building infrastructure (the metro / rail / motorways) before it was needed, and not waited for decades after it was needed.
    But I digress, as the public voted that government out.

    And I just saw an article about how the NSW state government is going broke and can't afford all these projects so the new metro lines may be delayed decades or cancelled entirely... sigh :( Even when we start construction and we think finally things will get better, politics always gets in the way.

      Metro lines will take Sydney to the next level. They need to cancel road projects rather than metro lines. But the short termism will no doubt conquer common sense.

    • @xr6lad
      @xr6lad Год назад +1

      @@anthonywalsh2164yes that makes sense. Cancel road projects for a static fixed line A to B railway. That will teach cars that come from a hundred different directions and slow down traffic even more.

    This airport will have 34000 meters of retail space , So yes it will be a major shopping centre within itself.

    • @oufukubinta
      @oufukubinta Год назад

      Currently there are no efforts to have trains wait for the metro or for the metro to wait for the train for people who are transferring from one to the other. In Chatswood as soon as the metro doors start opening the city bound train departs and you have to wait 10 minutes for the next one or 15 minutes or longer on the weekends

    • @ronvorbach1464
      @ronvorbach1464 Год назад +1

      @@oufukubinta Monday to Friday ,St, Mary`s rail service is 15minutes provided all are on time and yes and at times they are not ,sadly weekends become half hour services and often replaced by slow buses due to constant track works. Cross your fingers and hope all this changes.

  • @Skybar23
    @Skybar23 Год назад +1

    From what I understood with the rail. if you wanted to get the the CBD you had to get off at St Marys station then catch a another train to central...that is so inconvenient

    • @Buddy89538
      @Buddy89538 Год назад +1

      And your point is? It’s exactly the same as catching the train from the central coast to the mascot airport. Multiple train lines….it’s not an inconvenience if there’s a need for it. And most travelers now simply hire a car/van to travel from the south or north to the airport so same can be done in this case…

    • @Skybar23
      @Skybar23 Год назад

      @@Buddy89538 for starters theres no inter airport on the central coast , secondly not all tourist and locals can afford hire vehicles. Why invest so much into an airport and motorway in 2023 amd ignore a direct line to central station and cbd which would be the destination of many tourist entering the country including those who will work in that area once it opens. If im arriving at this airport with a shitload of luggage, last thing I want is having to stop off at some random station out west to get home towards the city. Id rather make the interchange at either Redfern or Central where there are far more services to all parts of Sydney than St marys

    • @Buddy89538
      @Buddy89538 Год назад +1

      @@Skybar23 as I was eluding to, most people catch the train from all over the state just to go to the international airport at mascot and vice versa and they’re not carrying a tonne of bags. People need to adapt to the changes not expect that their trip should be seemless. The entitlement of thinking your trip should be smooth is just plain ignorant. If you’re going to travel knowing you’re spending a few 1000k on flights then making sure transfer options to and from the airport are also taken care of or prior planning to ensure you are aware of the transport transfers is well known. And if you’re travelling on a budget well suck it up and deal with a few extra hours of train transfers because that’s the the price you pay.

    • @Skybar23
      @Skybar23 Год назад

      @@Buddy89538 entitlement? Clearly you dont know how transportation works. Go to any major airport in the world and theres always direct train services to the major interchange hub. This is an airport built in 2023, not a 1970 in some 3rd world country. As I said, central station is the interchange hub of Sydney that connects all parts of the state. This includes Greyhound buses, light rail and metro buses. Its not rocket science

    Making Mascot a 24 hour 7 days a week airport would save all of this. It has been constructed because the politicians refuse to make it 24 hour because of the voter backlash on both side of politics.
