Phil would have been perfect for Toto after Jeff passed.
Crazy smooth, perfect groove, and composition. He's a genius.

Wow....I'd have given my right arm to be here :(
I love the early L42 stuff and what Phil did with Bongo Saloon as well as Mikes solo stuff.

Thanks for this. Fascinating. The original Wally demo must be locked away somewhere as it has never appeared on any L42 re-issue. The recent box sets presented yet another missed opportunity to fill in the gaps of the first debut album with no demos at all. I longed for a 40th anniversary reissue especially on vinyl in 2021 but alas it was not to be.

I guess this is as close to the original lineup as we'll ever get since Boon took the stage on Mark's birthday about a decade ago. I wonder if Mark and Phil still have issues today,.....I don't hear much about them in interviews on one another.

who needs Mark when you have Sophie (kidding) or am i 😉

Mark, Mike and Phil were seen briefly playing together after Boon's passing as something of an impromptu and unofficial reunion in Boon's honor, but I got the sense that Phil is just happier doing his own thing. I do recall Phil saying in one interview that he wished Level 42 would put out more new material though...

@LordEradicus He so did so. I think the relationship has improved but not to the point of working together. There would need to be appetite on both sides to do so. I often wondered what would come of a session with separate studio time. Though works for a group like Massive Attack I doubt it would work with Level 42 as its all about the groove.
